Full marks for Acorns at USW Treforest. My child has settled well here and enjoys each day. He has attended for the past 10 months.
All staff are polite, friendly, well trained and genuinely enjoy their role in caring for the children. The facilities are excellent with plenty of activities to entertain
the children throughout the day and the outdoor space is well used.
I receive a detailed summary of what my child has done each day. There is good communication across the team to know what is going on. My child has developed in many ways as s result of nursery.
They also run an open evening/event where you can join in with activities and see the children in their nursery environment which was excellent to observe. It is also possible to see child progress using the app.

My daughter started Acorns at USW Treforest a few weeks ago. She seems to be settling in lovely. The staff are very welcoming in the mornings.

The Conifer staff were very on board in sticking to the same routine as we have at home.
The staff are always doing activities with the children (singing,

painting etc). When picking up my daughter it's lovely to hear about what they have eaten and what activities they have done through the day. The staff always have time to go through it with you, or any concerns they may have.

I have recently downloaded the Capture for Families App which is great to see pics through the day of how she's getting on. There is a woodland house being built across the car park, which will be brilliant for the children's development.

Although my daughter has only been going to Acorns at USW Treforest a short time I can already see it is a well-run, well-organised nursery. I cannot recommend it enough.

Acorns at USW Treforest is conveniently located. The facilities are clean, welcoming, bright and colourful and most importantly, child-friendly. The staff are always smiling and responsive to any queries you may have. My little boy loves it there, he always happy to be at the nursery. A range of activities
which are amusing, age-appropriate and stimulating, are offered daily.

My daughter has been coming to Acorns at USW Treforest since November 2018 and I could not rate this nursery more. The staff are so friendly and personable, with nothing ever being too much bother. This is the first time I've left my daughter with anyone but it certainly is the best. The artwork that
comes home is like no other. My daughter walks into nursery so happy now, she's only 17 months but already knows her teachers and loves them lots!

When I first had to consider going back to work and leaving my son with someone I didn't know, I must admit I felt guilty and frankly petrified at the thought. However, stepping through the door of Acorns I lost all concern.
The staff are friendly and caring and do a fantastic job at creating a warm
and homely environment for the children. They are both professional and fun and are completely invested in the children. From the curiosity corner to Homelink activities and song time, the nursery can't do enough for the children.
My son is more confident, independent and more socially aware because of Acorns. I want to give a special thank you to the staff who helped the children make the most amazing Christmas crafts to bring home to the parents. The baubles that the children created were so special and it is something that I will treasure forever (and the poem made me tear up, it was beautiful). The staff set an example of what every nursery should be, and should be incredibly proud!

The staff are very friendly and genuinely caring towards both children and parents. I am impressed with the vast range of activities that the children get involved in and the arts and crafts they produce. The food is of a very high standard and varied. My child is happy walking through the nursery doors
in the mornings and I am very happy and confident in leaving him in such good care. Thanks.

From the settling in days until now we have felt right at home. I am more than happy with every aspect of care my daughter receives but beyond that its the personal touches I really appreciate, the funny little stories I get to hear when I collect her hearing about what she's been doing all day as well
as the drawing and crafts that she makes... I am part of her day and can talk to her about it at home. Thank you, thank you for the smile I get to see at hometime - you guys helped put that there.

My son and I love this nursery. He is excited every day to go in and usually, I have trouble getting him out of there when I go to pick up. The atmosphere is warm and bright, staff are wonderful and the facilities are top class especially the outdoor area where the children love riding the bikes around
and playing on the castle. I always feel comfortable knowing that my child is safe and happy at Acorns at USW.

My daughter has started attending Acorns USW recently and I have to say that I am beyond impressed. My daughter is 14 months old and has never left my side for more than an hour at a time. All of the staff on settling in sessions were so kind and informative, they were incredibly gentle with my daughter
so that she didn't feel overwhelmed. At my daughter's first full day I rang up a few times to check on her and everyone I spoke to made me feel incredibly at ease. My daughter is now on her second week in the nursery and already settling in really well, she has the biggest smile on her face when she sees her nursery teachers, she's experienced playing with other children outside in the mud kitchen, leaves and activities. I honestly couldn't be happier with this nursery, I was so nervous putting my daughter in the care of strangers but already amazing relationships are forming, I am so grateful to have a nursery like this so close to home!

Absolutely amazing nursery. My son always comes home with a smile on his face. They are always happy to see him and they are very friendly. They do more than they need to for instance; I was soaked the one day as it was raining but they dried my clothes for me and let me borrow an umbrella. I would
recommend them to EVERYONE with a child as they are fantastic!!!

Cannot recommend this nursery enough. I was very anxious about my daughter starting nursery for the first time and it was very hard when she was crying going in, but within a few weeks, she was happily toddling in with open arms to all of the staff who have obviously made her feel so safe and happy
here. Excellent variety of activities even for the smallest ones and beautiful home cooked food.
Even when she was unwell with a very high temperature she was dealt with perfectly!
I can go about my business for the day 100% confident that my baby is well cared for and happy! What more could I ask for?
Wonderful.

My little girl joined this nursery just as Acorns took over, and to see the transformation of the facilities has been incredible. They've taken a tired, outdated nursery and transformed it into a bright, welcoming and modern environment. The outdoor area is exceptional, including the nature/garden area
where the children can investigate bugs and leaves and grow plants.
The care is second to none, with every single member of staff being friendly, approachable and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of childcare. I honestly never need to worry about leaving my little one there as I know she is well cared for and gets so much out of it!
I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.

My daughter was between 8-9 months when she was due to start at Acorns and as she was starting to show signs of separation anxiety. I contacted the nursery to discuss my concerns about her starting nursery. The staff were extremely understanding, supportive and accommodating of our needs. They immediately
recognised that my daughter would benefit from additional settling in sessions and they arranged for her to have at least two free sessions a week in the month before she was due to start. I can't thank the nursery staff enough for the help and kindness they have shown me and my daughter. I have immense trust and faith in the staff and feel so happy and at ease leaving my daughter with such competent, eager and efficient staff. They are always friendly, informative and caring towards me and my daughter. I have now returned to work and I couldn't ask for a better nursery for my daughter. Sincere thanks to all staff at Acorns at USW.

The staff at the Nursery are fantastic and I really can’t praise them enough! They have such a positive attitude and are very caring towards the children. Nothing is too much trouble and they have been so in-tune with my little boy's needs and emotions. I am really comfortable leaving him in their care.
There are lots of lovely, sturdy wooden toys for the children to explore and the outside spaces are used all-year round. I enjoy hearing about my boy's day when I go to pick him up and he is always full of smiles.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.767)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.767) out of 10 for Acorns at USW Treforest is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.942 for Acorns at USW Treforest is calculated as follows: ( (147 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.942
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Acorns at USW Treforest is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
