The Woodlands Nursery and Pre-school is a beautiful home from home setting dedicated to offering the highest quality of care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 8 years.

The quirky little setting is located in the Old Chapel on Mill Lane, naturally submersed in history and culture. The building itself oozes charm and charisma. The environment is highly resourced to promote a love of learning and curiosity for knowledge, all delivered through exploratory play. The team recognise that all children are unique, and they learn and grow in their own special way. It is through Woodlands' Concept curriculum that they are able to offer stimulating development opportunities to support all children in their early years journey, all coordinated by a fully qualified Teacher.

My eldest daughter (3) always goes in and comes out happy. She has thrived since going and has learnt so much from the lovely and attentive staff here. My youngest daughter (1) has just started this month, and so far, she has settled in extremely well, which is always a relief. The team here just seem
so at ease with the children and always look out for their best interests. Communication is great, and the online app is great for giving us insight into what they get up to. I would highly recommend this nursery setting to anyone.

We have sent 2 children here over the last 3 1/2 years. Warm, welcoming, wonderful staff who have helped to build our children’s confidence, taught them new skills and given them love and hugs when they’ve needed it. We’ve been very happy with Woodlands and would recommend it to friends and family.

Since starting at this nursery over 2 years ago, my granddaughter has loved every minute there, this is truly an amazing place that I would highly recommend, the staff are outstanding and a credit to the nursery. She has learnt so much, the facilities are great and above all, she is in a safe environment.

My child has thrived at Woodlands, it's such a lovely setting, like home from home. The staff are all lovely too and very welcoming. My child always comes home and tells me about what they have done that day and I'm impressed by what they have learned.

When our son started nursery he was made to feel like one of the family by staff. Any issues the staff always provide detailed information to families about any upcoming events like world book day. They are always happy kind caring and happy staff and the children always are excited to enter the setting
every morning.

Both of my children have attended The Woodlands nursery and I have nothing but praise for the lovely team. My son has been going to the Woodlands now for around a year. I have always felt so comfortable leaving him as he's always so happy to go in everyday, and never refuses or gets upset, and always happy when collecting him, which tells me he is happy. All the staff always show such a loving, happy and
positive attitude towards my son, which is so lovely to see.
They provide lots of fun activities and days out too. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Both daughters attend the Woodlands and seem to absolutely love it. They always come out so happy which is such a big confidence booster as a parent that they are in the right place. The outings and trips they do with the children are frequent, interesting and fun. The confidence and language development
by going to Woodlands is obvious as well as the notable development of their social skills. The staff are always so happy and engaging - sometimes I don’t even get a ‘goodbye’ from my elder, she just runs straight in! Thank you for the amazing work that you all do!

My son started going to The Woodlands in 2021 which during the height of the pandemic was a bit worrying but I can't praise the staff there highly enough. It's a clean and beautiful setting. Since my son started there his speech has come on no end and his social skills have too. He absolutely loves
going and seeing all of his friends and teachers. You can really see it's a genuinely loving and caring environment not just one of learning but also one where the children find themselves. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they listen to all of your concerns and are always there to give you any advice too. Thank you ladies for all you do. I cannot wait to send my daughter in the future.

My son has been at Woodlands since he was 8 months old. He is starting school in September and we will really miss the friendly, helpful staff at Woodlands. Nothing is too much trouble and they really do try to cater for the individual child. The cooked food is also a winner!

Our 'daughter' has been going to The Woodlands since October 2020 and she has thrived every day. She sadly had suffered some adverse childhood experiences which made her quite wary, and the nursery was a brand new concept to her but right from the get-go she has been nurtured, supported, and loved,
and she has come on in leaps and bounds socially, emotionally and academically. I know we will be so very sad to leave them all, it makes me teary just thinking about it and will really miss everyone, especially one member of staff, in particular, who she absolutely adores. I highly recommend this nursery.

Woodlands is wonderful, relaxed and friendly nursery. Both my little boys have gone there and I always feel happy and easy leaving them in the Woodlands capable hands all day. It is a safe, cosy environment with a lovely family feel. The daily activities they set up are lovely and the little trips out

Our daughter loves it at Woodlands and often asks if it's a nursery day yet. The staff are so friendly and kind. They really helped her settle in as she was nervous when she first started. She enjoys the varied activities and playing with her friends.

Both my children have attended Woodlands which has always been a warm and welcoming environment. My daughter required extra support and Woodlands ensured that everything was in place for her to transition with ease into primary school and that her needs were met. We cannot thank them enough!

Where do I start with this wonderful nursery! I have been sending my children to the Woodlands nursery for years. The team should be so proud of themselves as they are all fantastic! My daughter loves going and even my older children love going in the school holidays. The nursery are always looking
at making ways to keep the children happy with lots of messy play, which is great as I'm not keen at home. They help get the children into routines and are always trying to go the extra mile to help support them at home, if it's needed. Not only are the team amazing with the children, the food smells great and seems to go down well. If you are looking for a nursery that is a home from home, caring, kind and full of love, look no further as its definitely the Woodlands that provide a positive happy space for your precious bundles. Once again I would 100% recommend the Woodlands.

The Woodlands is just like another family. Our son loves to go and loves all the ladies who run the nursery and the other children. He has really thrived since starting here and we feel confident and happy leaving him for his days of learning and fun. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone,

I couldn’t ask for a better nursery for my child. I was so worried initially for my little one to start nursery but it has honestly been the best decision I could have made to send him to the Woodlands. I have full confidence in the staff and my child comes out happy after every session, telling me
about the fun things that he has done every day. I know the staff make him feel safe and loved and I trust them fully with him, I know he has a bond with all the staff there. I 100% recommend this nursery.

My two children have been attending the nursery for some time now and they absolutely love it there. They both had a tough start when starting nursery and were always very upset when I left them, but the ladies at the nursery made their transition as smooth as possible and now some mornings I can’t
get them there fast enough. I love how much time they spend outside and how filthy they are when they get home. I will always recommend the Woodlands to friends and family.

My little boy has settled in so quickly at Woodlands nursery due to the lovely, passionate staff who look after him. I love seeing the updates they send of what he's been busy doing each day and feel 100% safe in the knowledge he's been well looked after. It's a brilliant setting inside and out and

Both of my children attend Woodlands and I’m so pleased that I decided to send them there. I was attracted by a small, family-orientated setting that caters to the individual and their needs. I have not been disappointed. They are accommodating of sleep and feeding needs - even allowing me quiet space
recently to feed my child before a period of absence. I love the focus on outdoor play and experiences beyond the nursery setting and how engaged Woodlands is with the local community. I’ll be sad when it’s time for my little ones to leave!

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2014

Hi, I am Lauren, the manager of The Woodlands Stars Day Nursery. I started my journey at The Woodlands as an apprentice back in 2014. I studied my Level 2 and 3 Diplomas in Children’s Learning and Development. I have worked my way from qualifying as an educator to a room leader, and then becoming a manager of the setting. I love working in childcare because no two days are the same, and creating memories with our little people is a one-in-a-million job to have.
