The Woodlands Nursery and Pre-school is a beautiful home from home setting dedicated to offering the highest quality of care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 8 years.

The quirky little setting is located in the Old Chapel on Mill Lane, naturally submersed in history and culture. The building itself oozes charm and charisma. The environment is highly resourced to promote a love of learning and curiosity for knowledge, all delivered through exploratory play. The team recognise that all children are unique, and they learn and grow in their own special way. It is through Woodlands' Concept curriculum that they are able to offer stimulating development opportunities to support all children in their early years journey, all coordinated by a fully qualified Teacher.

Have to say this nursery has superseded my initial expectations. Upon arrival to check this place out (we looked around a few before deciding!) I was a bit taken aback by the gravestones; however, once you get inside wow what amazing play facilities they have for the children, particularly the outside
area. My son has to be there most of the day because of work, so it was important to me that he had plenty to get stuck in to and do each day. I really like the way all the staff interact with the children also. I think every one of them are brilliant with the children.
I'm so glad we chose this nursery, although it's abit further away for us than others - it offers so much more in my opinion. My little boy settled in within a few weeks and now runs in smiling each morning.

Brilliant Nursery, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Our daughter has absolutely loved her time here. Her speech and development have gone through the roof since joining The Woodlands. Highly recommended. We will be very sad to see her leave.

Our daughter has been going to The Woodlands Day Nursery and Pre-school for eighteen months and still comes home telling us how much fun she has had at nursery. She has recently transitioned into the toddler room and her key worker is really helping progress with her development and learning. The photos

My little boy thoroughly enjoys attending the Woodlands Nursery. He has the best days and always comes home with a smile on his face. I know he is in the best care and his development is coming on leaps and bounds.

My child really enjoys his time in the nursery and often comes home singing songs and telling me new and interesting facts. The staff are always friendly and polite, whenever there are any issues communication is fantastic and help is always available.

Couldn’t fault this nursery it’s incredible staff. My child is very challenging at times and can be a handful with his behaviour, and the staff have offered endless support and guidance to me. Providing a safe, secure and friendly environment for both children and parents. They keep you updated and
give feedback every session.


My second son starts in Jan 24 and he couldn’t be in a better place to kick-start his education.

Absolutely amazing nursery, the kindest most caring staff who clearly love their jobs and the children they look after.

Being an anxious parent, I feel at ease every time I leave our little boy at Woodlands. His key workers are so kind and caring and want the best for his development. They go above and beyond to make his day fun-filled, with lots of messy play which he absolutely loves! They always spend time telling
me about what he has been up to at the end of the day.

This nursery is amazing, so accommodating and understanding, the staff and management are brilliant. My son has a lot of problems with day-to-day living and the staff are always coming up with ways to help him wouldn’t take my kids any we’re else he is progressing so well and I’m very thankful to you.

My little one has been going to Woodlands now for about 7-8 months and honestly couldn't be more impressed with the care he receives. Today he went in for the Zoolab experience and even tho he is only 20 months he loved it. The staff are wonderful and so helpful and always support him. I'm so grateful
for the feedback I received about how much he interacted with all the animals. Woodlands Nursery is definitely the best place I could have sent my little one without a doubt, as a first time parent I was very nervous sending him to nursery and the staff have made the transition so easy and always put my mind at ease if I'm worried about him

The Woodlands is an amazing nursery. The staff have been brilliant at building positive relationships with my son who took a bit of time to settle into nursery. Now he cannot wait for his nursery sessions each week and is thriving from all the experiences he is having at nursery! Cannot thank them enough

My baby boy has been attending for a couple of months now and settled into nursery so quickly. All the staff are so lovely and make the effort to get to know him- we love the home from home feel! Nothing is too much trouble for them and they always mirror his routine from home with sleeps and bottles.
My son loves the range of activities they provide, especially the messy play. We cannot thank the staff enough for their care and the education they provide!

Our youngest daughter only attends The Woodlands once a week, so we were surprised to see how quickly she has settled in. This is down to the warm and caring welcome she receives and the fantastic range of activities. Our eldest daughter still talks fondly about her time there too. Well done to you

My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since moving to the nursery. She wakes up every morning excited to go and see all her friends. The nursery has shown me the parents' app and I can see she is having the time of her life there and growing her confidence so much!

Where do I start this nursery has been an absolute blessing to my granddaughter. Since attending this nursery my granddaughter has come on in leaps and bounds. She has become more confident her speech and language has improved so much and she enjoys telling us about the fantastic times she has had at
nursery from baking to making volcanoes erupt. My granddaughter particularly loves the outside play and the mud kitchen where she is allowed to explore messy play, yes I agree with the staff she is a muck magnet and we love that she can explore in this way. She has made so many friends and loves the warm up dance in the mornings with staff and friends. I can't thank all the staff enough for their kindness and support which is given freely on a daily basis to my granddaughter she loves you all very much. From my point of view the staff are highly qualified and follow all their policies and procedures. They are brilliant communicators to all families. I would 100% recommend this nursery

Both of my little girls have been going here since last year and both have thrived in this nursery. My eldest started here as quite a shy quiet child and every day she is growing in confidence thanks to the encouragement given to her by every member of staff. There is always a friendly familiar face
to welcome you every morning. Due to the smaller size of this nursery and that their staff turn over is low, you feel that the children develop a good bond with all of the staff which makes transitioning through the rooms a lot less unsettling. Communication is good and the ladies always try to put your mind at ease if the children are a little unsettled by sending messages in the day. The staff in the baby room are so loving and attentive to individual children's needs and create a home away from home. They plan new topics and experiences every day for the children to be involved with which is lovely to see. Keep up the good work.

The ladies at The Woodlands go above and beyond to care for, nurture and watch over my daughter. She has come on leaps and bounds since joining and despite only coming once a week, always comes home having learned something new. Her motor skills and communication have increased unbelievably. She is
always well-fed with healthy, homemade dinners and snacks after having the best day of learning and play. She is always so excited for nursery day and really enjoys seeing the staff and the friends that she has made. I and my husband cannot thank the staff enough for the energy they put into their work and I would recommend The Woodlands to anyone.

My little girl has only been at The Woodlands for a couple of months but has settled in as if it's been forever. She absolutely adores going, her wonderful ladies who all are like Disney characters to me, cheesy but true! I had a bad experience at her previous nursery and my nerves get the better of
me sometimes but as soon as I receive an update text with several photos of her beaming smile all my worries melt away. I'm so, so pleased I chose The Woodlands, I promise it will be the best decision you ever make too!

My daughter has been coming here since she was 6 months old and she has been coming on leaps and bounds. The girls are absolutely amazing with her and she smiles at each and every one, when they come into the room. I'm so pleased I chose this nursery for my daughter as she was able to settle quickly
and the staff kept me updated regularly throughout the day.

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2014

Hi, I am Lauren, the manager of The Woodlands Stars Day Nursery. I started my journey at The Woodlands as an apprentice back in 2014. I studied my Level 2 and 3 Diplomas in Children’s Learning and Development. I have worked my way from qualifying as an educator to a room leader, and then becoming a manager of the setting. I love working in childcare because no two days are the same, and creating memories with our little people is a one-in-a-million job to have.
