The nursery have been so supportive in helping me get back to work and settling my baby in. I now go to work confident he is with people that know him and care about him. I love seeing the pictures of what he has been up to and hearing about all the different foods he has eaten.

My daughter has been attending Norfolk House Nursery (Harborne Road) for just over a year now and I couldn’t recommend the nursery enough. The progression my daughter has made has been truly amazing! The communication between parents and staff members is great, this allows parents to feel at ease when
their child/children are attending nursery. I’m so proud to say that my daughter attends such a professional establishment.

My daughter has been at the nursery since she was a baby, now a confident 2 year old she is now in the toddler room and I believe the reason she is so confident is down to her experiences she has at nursery. Being “covid baby” we were expecting different struggles from her brother that attended the
nursery a few years ago, but the struggles simply didn’t happen. She loves the staff and wants to go to nursery every day, even at weekends. The relationships she holds with all the staff clearly mean the world to her, after returning from our holiday she couldn’t wait to see the staff in her base room and ran in giving them a massive hug! For a parent that’s just what you want to see.
She is learning new things every day and I’m surprised at just how much the staff do with the children to encourage their skills. Handovers are always so personal to the child and just shows how much the staff care.
The food always smells amazing and the nursery itself is spotless.

My son has been at Norfolk House Nursery for almost 2 years now. He bounds in with a huge smile and is as equally excited to see his friends as he is the staff. My son has formed great bonds with his key workers who have been incredibly encouraging and fundamental in his development. I have been incredibly
impressed with the management of the site and the lengths they go to accommodate the children and parents. I look forward to sending my second son there in January!

Our 2 year old son is in Toddlers Room here. He is always happy and smiling on his way into nursery and smiling or singing on his way out. It is clear that he is well cared for here. The setting has loads to offer to support this crucial development stage, and he always comes home with new vocabulary/
skills. The staff are nurturing, kind and always provide a detailed account of the great things he did that day. A fantastic nursery that we we sent all three of our boys to (with no hesitation!). I would definitely recommend!

My son has been coming to this nursery since he was a baby and is now in preschool. As always every company has its changes and ups and downs. However, I have always felt with Norfolk House Nursery they are such a family oriented group and are always straight up with you. The trust shows that your child
is in safe hands, especially when the staff are honest. Everything is seen as a positive and how to make things better. I am happy to say I have full trust every time I drop my son off that he will learn, eat and have fun and be safe doing it too. The staff always hold a professional friendship with all parents and children which goes a long way. Thank you Norfolk House Nursery.

Our son started at Norfolk House Babies 6 weeks ago and we are just delighted with every aspect of Norfolk House Nursery.

His identified key worker is wonderful, she has taken the time to get to know us as a family and our son just adores her. It is so lovely to see him holding out his hands to

go to her in the mornings, he is settled, happy and thoroughly enjoys his time in the babies room.

The range of activities is incredible and staff really celebrate firsts and milestones with us as a family and we feel like we are all on a journey together with his exciting development.

Communication is excellent and the staff in the rooms and the management team all know us as a family and we feel very much welcomed into the setting.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Norfolk House to friends and family.

Our little boy has been cared for at Norfolk House since he was 10 months old. He has grown through three rooms and the team caring for him has felt like family. He talks about them constantly, and this is a reflection of how happy and settled the team makes him feel. The events that are put on to encourage
learning about the seasons, festivals and different celebrations throughout the year have been fantastic. Our little boy’s development has really improved under the team’s supportive, intuitive and personalised structure. I cannot recommend Norfolk House Harborne Road highly enough.

Norfolk House Nursery - Harborne Road is a lovely atmosphere, catering to babies through to preschool. The size of the nursery and the rotation of the staff means almost every staff member knows every child very well. We briefly took a hiatus from nursery during the early pandemic. Upon our return, we were welcomed back and the positive impact on my child's development cannot be overstated. The personalised care plans and individualised approach helped leaps and bounds, and it was a complete no-brainer enrolling
our second child. Lots of different activities, regular schedule updates, great communication, lovely staff. Five stars team - thank you so much.

My daughter has been attending Norfolk House Nursery since February 2022. As a first-time mum, I was so nervous about leaving her in someone else's care but the staff at the nursery are absolutely amazing and kind. I cannot fault the staff in babies 2, they give me so much reassurance and nothing is
too much trouble. The handover at the end of my daughter's session is excellent and gives me all the information I need about how she got on that day. I am very happy we chose Norfolk House for our daughter and would highly recommend it to every parent!

Our son has been in Norfolk House on Harborne Road since September 2021 and he has been doing so well! The staff in Babies 2 have been fantastic and encouraged him to progress in every aspect. The activities our child does on a day to day basis are organised and focus on specific learning goals rather
than random play, which is evident in how he is developing. It’s also great that there are activities intermittently involving the parents, so we can see him in his own environment interacting with the other children. Would definitely recommend!

We had no other nursery in mind when choosing Norfolk House for our second child. We had such a great experience with our first child and were so happy with the care, attention and love they showed. The end of day feedback and child handover along with the updates listed in their day diaries keeps us
as parents informed always. We are safe and secure in the knowledge that our child is being well cared for as long as providing a base of learning at such a young age which is pivotal for future development.

Norfolk House Nursery Harborne staff have been fantastic with our little ones - especially our very clingy lockdown baby who has come right out of her shell since being there and is now an independent girl. It can’t have been easy dealing with her initially but the baby's room staff were exceptional
and made her feel cared for (so much so that I think she may prefer them to me!). And they never made her feel like a burden! We are so grateful for their genuine care and patience with her!

Cliché but they get the little things right, which means the big things generally take care of themselves.

Over the past 5 months, our daughter has really developed at Norfolk House Nursery, been well looked after and seems like she really enjoys her time there.

The staff are great and her main

primary caregivers genuinely care about her and her development.

Norfolk House has been great at making us feel at ease, sending us weekly and daily updates on the nursery and our daughter's day.

I would certainly recommend the nursery!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.896) out of 10 for Norfolk House Nursery - Harborne Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.896 for Norfolk House Nursery - Harborne Road is calculated as follows: ( (215 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 240 Ratings = 4.896
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Norfolk House Nursery - Harborne Road is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 number of registered child places is 11.2, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am Hayley Fox, the Senior Nursery Manager. I oversee all three of our nurseries, sharing my time between them and working closely with the Nursery Managers who are responsible for their day-to-day operation. We have found that this arrangement further enhances the level of service we are able to provide and keeps us at the very forefront of Early Years education.

I have worked in Early Years education for 22 years. I started work at our Norfolk Road setting in April 2009, some five months before it opened its doors. I have therefore been able to recruit staff, plan and implement policies, and develop best practices in all areas from the Nursery’s very inception. My own daughter attended the Nursery and progressed through every age group, which has enabled me to view it from a parent’s perspective.

My team and I would be delighted to show you around our setting, explain further the service we provide and answer all your questions. Please do not hesitate to make contact me, and I look forward very much to meeting you in the future.
