Shoreham Day Nursery & Pre-school

We’re so pleased we chose this nursery.

My son has loved coming to nursery. He has built special bonds with certain staff members. Always happy to go into nursery in the morning. Has a fantastic outside space where my son spends most of his time. The staff are caring and go above and beyond to support you, especially if your child has extra needs. A special thanks to the manager; she's amazing with my son, he trusts her so much, and she always goes out of her way for him.

I had no intention of sending my child to nursery and was dreading the prospect of it, especially as we are an allergy family and my child is vegan. I viewed seven nurseries in the area, where they seemed to have no concept of what vegan meant and did not reassure me at all about allergies. However, Shoreham Day Nursery was completely different and was the only place I felt comfortable leaving my son. The staff are just lovely and were more than happy to answer my endless questions! The nursery manager is fantastic with the kids and has a very welcoming face at drop off. She even takes the time to talk to my other child and engage him at pick up time, which is very sweet. My child adores being at nursery and happily walks in without any complaint. They are always doing fun activities, and the food seems to go down well. They are so accommodating to my child, and I always feel like I can ask them about anything, even if it is stupid.

From my first initial visit, I sensed a happy and welcoming nursery which was very reassuring as it was all new to us. My daughter then joined at the beginning of the year and has loved it ever since. The morning drop-offs speak volumes, as she waves us off and is happy to be there, and the same for the pick-ups, waving the team goodbye and telling us all about her day on the car ride home.

We had a rare little upset one morning dropping her off, and kindly, without asking, I got sent a lovely picture of her happy and playing (30 seconds after I left!) saying 'I am all happy now Mummy' - that always sticks in my head, as it shows how empathetic and experienced the team are to what the parents feel too when leaving their children in someone else's care.

We are so happy we have found the right nursery for our daughter, and that she has such lovely ladies looking after her and giving her the best kick start to her life. Thank you.

We love the fact that the nursery supply's us with "observations" where we get pictures of our little one throughout the day, and we get told how she is developing at different stages throughout the weeks. The staff are always very open, welcoming and happy to answer any questions or queries we have.

A step ahead, Shoreham Day Nursery is a great nursery. The staff are really nice, helpful and supportive. The outside space is fantastic. My son often asks to go over the weekend; he has so much fun there with his friends.

My 17 month old daughter started with A Step Ahead Nursery (Shoreham) in September 20 and I could not be happier with our choice. We looked at every nursery in our local area before making our choice and nearly sent her to a different nursery which looked far newer and was vastly more expensive however we chose A Step Ahead Nursery (Shoreham) as the love and care the staff showed towards the children in their care came shinning through on our visits there. The same could not be said for the others in the local area. When we say to our daughter that we are taking her to nursery she smiles and is happy and that is all the recommendation anyone should need.

Everyone at the nursery is very friendly and approachable. They have been so kind and patient settling my daughter in. I like that they get to play outside a lot. I really feel my daughter is in good hands. Thank you.

My daughter is 17 months old and started at A Step Ahead Shoreham a few weeks ago. The staff have been great and she has settled in straight away. She has quickly formed a strong bond with her keyworker who has been fantastic. I can tell she is having so much fun at the nursery, the App is really good at showing me what she has been up to as well as letting me know about meals and sleep, I love getting the photos. She loves all the activities they provide and always has a smile on her face when we pick her up. I couldn't have been happier with her start to nursery. Thank you all!

Nursery should be about three things for me - enjoyable activities, those first bonds of friendship and learning to interact and socialise with others outside of your immediate family. All of these are met and exceeded at A Step Ahead (Shoreham). Our son has made great friends and loves his time there with much of that is down to the excellent staff, who really support the kids to express themselves and enjoy what they want to do.

This nursery is great, my son loves it so much. He is very happy when he is going to nursery. He loves dinner, friends. I am really happy that we choose this nursery. I recommend this nursery so much.

Amazing nursery, really welcoming for children. My daughter loves it here, always comes out with a smile on her face. Amazing with posting what's happening their during the day, staff so friendly and helpful for everything.

As a busy working Mum, the nursery was ideal for us as parking is easy making drop off and pick up easy with easy access to the A27 for my out of town commute.

Thank you to all the team for being very polite, friendly, reassuring, professional and most of all honest, which is something hard to find these days.

Just over two years ago we looked at several nurseries in our area and while some seemed lovely none were more welcoming and willing to answer our questions and putting me at ease. From our little one being in the baby room through to now being in the ladybird (preschool room) we have watched him thrive into the confident little chap, he is today. We as a family have needed support along the way with some emotionally challenging times and the staff have been exceptional in supporting not only our little one but us too through these times. I know our little lad completely adores the staff and that is just as important as him having fun and learning. He has had dietary needs that were always met with care. Nothing is too much trouble. Throughout the Covid lockdown, they did amazing videos and kept us in touch and reassuring on return. If you want happy nurtured little ones I highly recommend this nursery.

Great nursery, thriving, caring environment and they go out of their way to keep little minds occupied and happy.

Cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. All the members of staff, are so friendly, warm and welcoming. Our daughter absolutely loves attending there and is always so excited to go. You can tell the staff do genuinely care about the children and their wellbeing and development.

My son had an amazing experience at this nursery where the staff were kind, friendly and extremely helpful. They would often go out of their way to help you and keep you informed and my son was very happy to be here. We were very sad when it was time to move to big school.

I would definitely recommend this nursery.
