Nice and safe nursery, every week they do lots of activities that have a great impact on my child's development. My child enjoys coming into the nursery and being with her friends and the staff.

My daughter used to go to another nursery within the area and she absolutely hated it there and refused to even get out of the car when I used to drop her there. I left it a while before looking around for another suitable nursery for her to attend. I finally was happy with the reviews that I read about
the Ashbourne Nursery and decided to give it a go and to my surprise, she really loved it there. She absolutely adored her key worker and constantly spoke of her and how much she missed her when she wasn’t there. The whole team were always lovely as well and it was nice knowing that I’m leaving my child with such capable people. I had one or two issues which the manager sorted out in a very professional manner; she was lovely to speak to on the couple of occasions I spoke to her. It’s got a lovely cosy atmosphere.

My daughter received excellent care from the staff. She was well looked after and her confidence and educational development grew whilst she was there. I was also grateful that the nursery were shiftwork-parent-friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

My son joined the nursery when he was 9 months and leaving it when he turns 4 years. I find staff every friendly and approachable. He has grown to be very social individual and well-mannered child where nursery has played an important role. I would definitely recommend the nursery. The only thing which
it could have improved on further is to have some app where we can track the activities of the child of whole day instead of having verbal conversation every evening.

As a first time mother, I felt very anxious bringing my son to the nursery, but after one month of my son being at the nurser, I feel so happy with the progress of my son and extremely impressed with the staff. The staff are very kind and friendly to parents and children and have reassured me that I
made the right decision to bring him to the nursery. Thank you Play and Learn.

The nursery provides a loving, family, intimate feel which is great for my toddler at her age. My daughter is excited when getting to the nursery. There are areas for improvement, with process and procedures but the manager is open and implements feedback which is very encouraging. The nurseries strength
is their family feel.

My child joined Play and Learn in November 2017, he was going to another nursery before.
Overall I would say that we had a positive experience with Play and Learn. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say that the nursery is at 9/10. Overall, a positive experience.

She has been happy at all times.
Barring some issues due to changing of workers she has had a great time.
Her progression is good.

The staff are very friendly. I have a good experience at the nursery. My daughter is learning a lot with her key worker. I don't know what I would do without her at the nursery. All of the staff are professional and likes kids. The only thing I can say negatively is the fact that my daughter comes home
very dirty with paint everywhere. I think every child should have bibs when they are painting as some of the paint is hard to remove from the clothes.

I am extremely happy with this wonderful nursery. My son has development delays and the staff were amazing recognising our sons needs, and explaining it all to us in a very sensitive a delicate manner, which was incredible, they have done everything in their ability to give my son the help and support
he needs, he even receives one to one from SENCO there. They are always happy to talk to us as parents to let us know how further they can help our son. This is a wonderful and very supportive nursery, the staff and manager are an asset to the company and should be rewarded. I would recommend this nursery to every mother and father who want their child(ren) to have the best start in life.

My child is not very social around strangers, and was true to form during the settling in period, and we initially though it wouldn't work.

After a week or so she really began to open up to the staff and other children, and I'm glad we made the decision to stick with professional nursery childcare.

She is so much happier now. I think the staff really put themselves out to make sure she was happy, and having the setting inside a park was a brilliant idea. Every day is like a mini school trip, she always comes home talking about feeding squirrels or ducks and her new best friends. It's a smaller nursery than some others nearby but I think that has helped our daughter as she is naturally shy. Overall I'm very happy with the staff and learning she has achieved so far.

Current Review Score: 7.5 (7.458)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.5 (7.458) out of 10 for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Barking is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.333 for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Barking is calculated as follows: ( (4 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.333
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.125 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Barking is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 number of registered child places is 8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.125
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
