b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.824 for Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (464 Excellents x 5) + (80 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 552 Ratings = 4.824
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4
Target of 16 positive Reviews (80 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 30 Reviews ÷ 16 Target Reached = 1

I am very pleased with all staff and all support given to my daughter.
I can come to work in peace, knowing she will be in good hands.
The only thing I think could improve is regarding flexibility to swap going in advance (of course if there is space). As I am told that is not allowed under any circumstances.

The nursery has been a wonderful place for my daughter to grow and learn since joining at 9 months in November 2017. I find the staff incredibly caring and helpful and they care about the children. My daughter is so happy and has developed so well in every way. They complete differing activities daily and teach the children how to be more independent whilst nurturing them. The facilities are excellent and extremely clean. The only negative is that it is extremely expensive for an out of London nursery, however, they work long hours and do provide excellent care.

The team are brilliant. They have shown immense care and commitment in helping our daughter to settle into the nursery. They are always proactive and thoughtful in communicating with us regarding our daughter's well-being and take an active interest in her development. The nursery itself is modern, clean, safe and well managed. Overall, we are very happy to be at Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery and Preschool.

Our daughter has now been at Bright Horizons Woking for just over 3 months. We knew from the very first time we visited the nursery for a show around in the summer that it was right for her. She has been made to feel so welcome and loves going to nursery. I like the fact the days have some structure and the kids aren't just left to do as they please. Every day when I pick her up, the list of what Explorers have been up to that day is amazing - so varied. I feel the staff are very supportive and genuinely care about our daughter. The food choices are amazing; so lucky all the food is made fresh on site. Is also brilliant that our daughter gets chance to "cook" with the nursery chef. We are so pleased with our daughter's development since she started nursery - she is thriving and every day we are amazed at the new skills she is learning.

When I came to pick my nephew up on a Thursday, I am always greeted in a lovely manner. I am also told how his day has been and what activities he has been doing. The team are fantastic and work so hard to care for the children and help them develop.

My daughter has been attending Bright Horizons since she was four months old. She is very happy there and her progress (vocabulary and confidence) has been excellent for her age. Staff have also helped massively with potty training (she is completely potty trained before her second birthday) and management is very approachable and the staff are very competent. They clearly care for the children they look after.

My son has been here for a year now. He is very happy and healthy here. This is one of the nurseries with high-quality hygiene. The staff are extremely lovely and caring towards the children. They follow all the guidelines and policy. They ensure they email us updates weekly so the parents are well connected with the happenings in the nursery. I would recommend this nursery to everyone. Thanks for everything to all the staff members and for taking such good care of our children so that we have peace of mind at work.

Our son has been a member of the nursery since May 2017 and has recently moved into a new class. He thoroughly enjoyed his time at nursery and I feel reassured leaving him with the team. Important factors for choosing a nursery, were the facilities, staff and cleanliness and Woking exceeds all of these. The facilities are well considered and specifically tailored. The staff are simply fabulous. I could not be happier.

We are very pleased with having our 2 and a half-year-old daughter in this nursery. She absolutely loves going there and her development since she's started has been amazing. We, as parents, really appreciate caring and professional staff, clean facilities, a variety of toys and activities and balanced nutrition. Daily reports do help us to get our mind at rest knowing what she's been up to during the day. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and room team for a great job.

Excellent service. Just a few weeks into life in the nursery and our little one is settling in well thanks to all the staff in the Discoverers room. The feedback we get at the end of each day is great and we have recommended this nursery to our friends.

My daughter has been at Bright Horizons Woking since she was 4 months old, now nearly 2 years on, we are as happy as ever. She has gone through a number of the rooms in her time, each room and staff as welcoming and focused on her journey and needs as an individual. Staff work with parents to support what we are doing at home so that there is a real 'home from home' feel and care about the nursery. Recently, the staff have supported us with successfully toilet training my daughter making the whole dreaded process so much easier. Above all, I know she is happy, well looked after, challenged and supported which is all as a working parent I could wish for. Thank you, Woking Team!!

I couldn’t be happier with the care my son gets at this nursery. He has been attending it since it opened and thoroughly enjoys his time there. The staff take such an interest in his development and make a point of being friendly, approachable and interested in us as a family. My husband and I can relax while at work knowing he is safe and is not only looked after but also well stimulated and entertained. My daughter will begin attending this nursery also, later this year - and I would not hesitate in recommending Bright Horizons Woking to anybody!

As a London commuter, the nursery is 5 mins walk to the town centre/station.
Bright spacious and comfortable atmosphere for the children.
Food seems varied, nutritious and probably delicious!
Quality of teaching along with progress monitoring seems very good.
Our experience with the various teachers, including the more senior teachers all seem so genuine, friendly and caring. I have witnessed this with my own son but also with a few of his friends.

Childcare is possibly the hardest thing you’ll ever have to choose, financially and emotionally making sure you are doing the best for your child when you return to work. From day one, the team at Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery and Preschool have surpassed all my expectations. My daughter thrives in their setting with a huge variety of activities, outdoor play and mixing with the older children she’s become quite a social butterfly ...I feel so confident leaving her in their care!
The team really care about the children as they show them lots of affection, and that is infectious amongst the children. Her love of food continues with their extensive menu, she gets a far more exciting lunch than I do making it really easy to introduce her to a variety of food at home!
Thank you to everyone involved at Woking!!

Great nursey, our son is really happy there. highlights are the staff, and the food, down-side being the obvious lack of outdoor space.

My child had trouble settling down, especially with food. At the nursery, they took great care to ensure she has her food regularly and helped her to settle down.
The nursery has lot of activities in place which keeps my daughter engaged.
I would recommend the nursery to other parents for sure.
Review submitted from a Website Submission by Cecile (Mother of Child) on Monday 15 January 2018. Relates to January 2018.
I am very happy with the nursery, so is my daughter who's been going there since the nursery opened. She even told us the other day she preferred going to nursery than being with us!
The staff is attentive to our needs, they're always very friendly and approachable, happy to help in any way.
The manager has always responded extremely quickly to any problems in an appropriate and helpful manner.
I like the fact that they have a cook on site, the children always eat freshly made meals. They make sure to take the children out every day, for a least a short session, even with challenging weather. The nursery is also clean whenever I pop in.
The only real downside is the rather heavy price. However, when compared to other nurseries in Woking, they are open an extra hour per day than most and the closeness to the train station is ideal when both parents are commuters like we are. They also have been understanding whenever we got stuck on unreliable trains.
I would happily recommend!

We love Bright Horizons and my daughter really loves going. There are always great activities planned that are fun but are also excellent learning tools, the ruler exercise was a big highlight this week. The staff are all very friendly and caring towards the children. However, most of the time that my daughter is in the nursery, her Key Worker is not in her room and has spent a considerable amount of the last few months in other rooms filling in. We love her and my daughter has a great bond with her but she doesn't really see her much anymore and I"m unclear how her development can be mapped accurately given the limited time she spends with her We miss her! My daughter has formed a great bond with the staff who is amazing.
Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery and Preschool is very effectively managed. She is very visible, approachable and "on it" manager, which I'm sure is a huge factor in the success. We have recommended the nursery to many people of which quite a number now attend.

I couldn’t be happier with the care that is given to my son at nursery. I knew as soon as I walked into the friendly atmosphere in reception that this was the perfect place for us. My son comes in each time with a big smile on his face and waves bye bye to me which puts my mind at rest each and every time. I know he has such a fun time at nursery and does something different every day he is there. He loves all the staff and there isn’t anything that could be improved. Everybody makes such an effort and the nursery is the best I’ve seen. Very clean and presentable and I would highly recommend.

Every time I pick up my son it's clear that he's had a great day and that he is in great hands. His key carers clearly enjoy caring for him and he's always got a smile on his face. The staff are friendly and approachable and give very informative handovers on pick up. They have made sending my boy to nursery stress free and an enjoyable experience and I know we chose the right setting sending him here.

I love how welcoming the staff are here. They have really helped to support my sons settle into Nursery which I was extremely nervous about. They are always so happy and inviting and I know my son loves it when he is there. The activities they provide are exciting, different and really help him to learn. I love the fact the nursery has two gardens and the space is used all through the the day too. I couldn't ask for a better team to care for my little one while I'm working.

My son started at the nursery in the summer and I was very impressed with the efforts of the staff to help him settle in. They were extremely caring and also supported me in the transition by providing me with updates on his progress. I feel confident that he is safe and happy there and would definitely recommend this nursery to others.
Review submitted from a Website Submission by Neelam W (Mother of Child) on Thursday 6 April 2017. Relates to April 2017.
Staff are enthusiastic - they treat the children as individuals, not cattle. They are not stuck in their ways. Learning is taken seriously - lots of fresh ideas and new activities all the time. Manager has brilliant interpersonal skills - she responds to any queries promptly and is very much a 'yes' person. This nursery likes to do things properly - no short cutting or TV days. Space is wonderful - everything is shiny and new and clean. Children who attend are very calm, they get on well as a group. Not as many illnesses as with other nurseries, due to excellent hygiene. The nursery values and supports diversity.
Our son's key worker has taken the initiative to go beyond his existing knowledge and training, to creatively adapt the EYFS to our son's individual learning style. He has carried out his own research and offered us ideas on how to stretch our son's development in a way that has inspired our imagination and increased our confidence to be more involved in our child's learning.

Bright Horizons is very well organised and communication with parents is excellent (via weekly newsletters,
noticeboard and the daily information sheets). Staff are helpful and approachable. They have well-planned activities for kids all throughout the day. My child talks constantly about Nursery and often role plays teacher at home with his little brother. He has made friends, he has picked up a lot in English and his vocabulary is having constant addition. With baking, painting, computing and daily play in the park, no wonder he wants to come to Nursery every day. They encourage the parents to fill out my Learning sticker so that they can understand a child more. Over the weekends also he does not want to be home and wants to go out or get involved in a lot of activities. He has lost interest in I-pad which is a major PLUS as a parent. I am very satisfied as a parent with the nursery. I am thankful to the nursery staff for playing a big part in my child's learning and development journey.

Our son has thrived at Bright Horizons. He was used to having a nanny and lived overseas, so nursery was a very new experience. We need not have worried. The settling in plan was gentle and the staff have had our son's welfare at the core from the start. The settling in sessions were handled brilliantly and at a pace that suited our son (and us) which was important. By the time he started properly, he was ready.
The staff are passionate about providing high-quality care and education in a nurturing environment. From the staff who welcome you at the door to the staff in the room, to the fabulous on-site chef and housekeeping, the children are all welcomed with a smile and happy attitude.
Bright Horizons hits every mark on the big issues but it's the little things where the team shines. We've been touched by the care that has been put into making our son feel comfortable and happy. It's a home from home and we couldn't have chosen anywhere better to begin his nursery adventures.

Very happy with this nursery. Staff really take care about teaching the children instead of just keeping them busy for a few hours, as it happens in other nurseries.
Very clean and tidy, so you do not feel that your child is left in a messy place.

I am so excited with this nursery; it is a shame that it wasn't built one year ago when I was searching a nursery for my daughter.
The nursery is beautiful, clean, organised. The classes have the resources the kids need to develop their skills. The staff is lovely and well prepared. The management are very good as well.
My daughter has changed her mood since she is there: better organised, behaviour, she is enthusiastic about going to the nursery.
I love it, I am so happy and I recommend this nursery to everyone.

My child has been attending Bright Horizons for some time now and they continue each and every day to exceed any parents expectations from a school. From the teachers to the facilities to the quality of education, this school really does go above and beyond.
My child is so happy and comes home with so much knowledge that she is so excited to share with me. They make each and every day a great and fun experience for my child.
The teachers give 100% attention and have genuinely care for each child. They make the school such a happy place as they make each child feel special and they have such enthusiasm about teaching and learning.
Deciding on which school is the best for your child can be difficult but Bright Horizons Woking has made that decision so easy just knowing my child is so happy and excited to go to school each day.
Nothing is too big or too small for this school, they go out of their way to make every day a great experience for my child, they simply are the best.

This school continues to impress me each and every day! My daughter is attending Bright Horizons Woking full time and she absolutely loves it.
The teachers are phenomenal, they take the time to ensure each and every child is happy and learning great new things. Every teacher is passionate about children and they make learning so much fun for the children.
The facilities are incredible and my daughter has learnt so much from being at this really great school. I really am impressed.
You know the school is the best when you child, after being at school all day, still wants to continue playing when it is time to go home. My daughter is so happy at this school and this gives me, as a mum, a happy heart just knowing that my child is happy at school and is learning so many new and wonderful things.
Thank you to Bright Horizons Woking for the excellent work and ensuring my daughter has a great experience every day she is at school. They really are the best.

Moving to Woking with my only child and being a PhD student wasn't an easy experience. I spent 8 months looking for a good nursery for my daughter. Having a very bad experience with previous nurseries and babysitters, I decided that I should take care of my daughter myself and I should not trust anyone. That was the case until this brand new nursery opened. It is only 3 minutes walk from my home. To be honest, I'm still impressed. I haven't even imagined that I would find such a great place for my little one. My daughter and I are really blessed to find a nursery of such high standards. I'm extremely satisfied with every single service provided. All members of the administration team are very welcoming, understanding, thoughtful, and helpful. All staff are very well-trained, trustful, patient, kind, and warmhearted. My daughter and I love them so much. I'm really thankful and I'm really speechless...

We are very happy indeed with our choice of nursery - it has really helped our son to thrive and become more sociable. He took a while to settle at the beginning, and staff were extremely patient and helpful in making him feel comfortable and well looked after. He now clearly loves going there each day. The staff are highly professional, thoughtful and very friendly - nothing is too much trouble. Excellent facilities for the children and a convenient location for those in central Woking.

I am very happy with the nursery and the progress our son has made since he started in Bright Horizons. He is talking more English, stories and jokes.
Interactive lessons helped to improve his confidence. Staff have made my son feel friendly and very comfortable. He loves to go nursery.
Very satisfied with staff and nursery. Everyone's a great support.

My daughter has settled well within the nursery, she loves the staff that look after her, I always know she is well cared for, they are fantastic and so caring, she loves all the messy play they do in the room. There are always many activities for her to do, and she adores the garden free flow which for me is so important, she gets to spend a lot of time outside learning and playing.
I am so happy with the nursery and how she is developing there. The nursery are very good with dietary requirements and are so understanding.

We spent a good 3 months looking at nurseries for my son and it's not been easy. Things that mattered to us were (in no particular order):
- friendliness of staff
- management and infrastructure
- catering/special dietary requirements
- operational hours
I am pleased to say that Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery surpassed my expectations in every single area above, they stood head and shoulders above the rest.
But the deciding factor for us was how we and my son felt around the carers, and I'm pleased to say the team are fantastic! We felt a connection immediately, they just seemed to care more than any of the other carers we met, they were very friendly and we could just sense that it was in their nature to be caring, they had a real passion for their profession and performed their duties with pride. They were exactly the type of people I felt at ease leaving my son behind with.
If you live in Woking, it would be a crime not to meet them.

BrightHorizons Woking nursery is the best choice for my daughter. She absolutely loves it. I am really lucky to have chosen this, the staff are very cooperative and caring. She loves them and doesn't want to come back home at times. The food standard is nice and learning techniques are very innovative, creative and supportive.

My child just started at the nursery last week and has settled in really quickly. All the staff have been very kind, friendly, welcoming and supportive of me and my child as we both adapt to our new routines. The location is ideal for parents like me who commute to London and the slightly later closing time allows for train delays.
My only concern initially had been the lack of outdoor space but the gardens available do seem large enough for all of the children to play in and I am aware the staff take the babies on trips to the park. As such, there are no negatives - I would definitely recommend the nursery.

20 month old son has been at the nursery for about 6 weeks now - I have nothing but praise for the staff and facilities. The staff have all taken a real interest in him and know him so well already. They go above and beyond to keep him happy and entertained. Outdoor garden facilities are great and they've been on a couple of outings to the park, library etc. Great location and as long as the staff keep up the good work, this will be an outstanding nursery.
Job Title: Nursery Manager
Rachel has a wealth of experience within childcare having started as a Nursery Apprentice in 2004 at our Bright Horizons Starfish Nursery in Guildford.
Rachel proceeded to gain her level 2 and 3 qualifications in Childcare and Development and was later promoted to Room Manager within the toddler room. In 2009, Rachel transferred to our Richmond Day Nursery and was made Deputy Manager covering maternity leave for 9 months. Since then, Rachel has supported four of our nurseries in Surrey and has a great understanding in the day to day running and management of a nursery.
Rachel grew up and currently lives in Guildford. She loves spending time with her family; she has a twin brother and two other elder siblings. Her nieces and nephews keep her busy at the weekend!
“I look forward to continuing my journey at Bright Horizons in opening our brand new Woking Day Nursery and Preschool.”
