We really appreciate the recent changes in the administration which have given the nursery a great facelift. Credit to them for making small changes which are making big impacts. Additionally, appreciate the efforts put in by the caregivers, especially in the baby room.
Hi Shirin, We are grateful that you took the time to leave us a review.
I am happy with the way my daughter is getting supported by all the teachers and a special mention goes to the manager who has taken all the possible measures to support my daughter in every way. My daughter loves to come to school and enjoys her day with all. The manager is a brilliant administrator and very approachable who has the patience to listen to the needs and act on them swiftly.
In the last few months, however, staff retainment has greatly improved and the new management has shown real interest and determination in achieving higher standards for the nursery. Also, very pleased to see the introduction of personalised observations and progress reviews in the app.
We have noticed the biggest change in my stepson since the new management arrived at this nursery. He is happier, enthusiastic to arrive and sad to leave. The management are openly friendly and professional and always engage with the children and adults. I've had things actioned faster than ever before and it feels as though we as a family, are being cared for. Highly recommend thank you to two members of staff, in particular.
Since the new management team started, the nursery has improved massively. Communication is great, the app is updated regularly and we love seeing the photos on there of what our daughter has been up to. I love that they get involved in all the dress up days and celebrate things like Diwali. My only slight criticism, and perhaps it’s been because of Covid-19, but unlike other nurseries they don’t seem to do a Christmas show, graduation day, have yearly professional photos taken or go out on any day trips. This is minor really, they do loads of activities during the day and the main thing for us is that the staff are lovely and our daughter loves going there, and that’s the most important thing! Don't be put off by old reviews, they’re not relevant or accurate any more.
We joined the nursery in July 2020. As you’ll see from the other comments, when the previous manager went on maternity leave, the nursery went downhill and lost some great staff. Since the new management came in mid-2021, we have seen a massive improvement. We have great communication from the room via the app and at handovers, as well as a weekly newsletter from the management team. The nursery seems well run and most importantly our daughter seems really happy and loves her key worker.
Our daughter has attended Bright Horizons Woking since August 2020. The nursery was not well run at this time and it continued until mid-2021. There were a number of serious issues and we were very close to leaving. Since the new managers and the new team have taken over we have seen a vast improvement in day to day life at the nursery and are very glad we persevered. Things now feel well organised and we feel the team is working hard to keep on making improvements. The new management has listened to feedback and we are happy with the communication that we are now receiving about nursery life and our daughter's progress.
Avoid Bright Horizons completely, to be honest. My son is 4.5 and has been at the Guildford Road one since he was 11 months old but it's gone massively downhill. Lots of parents have removed their kids and if my son did not only have a couple of months left, I'd pull him out too. There have been unsafe child/carer ratios (which OFSTED pulled them up on), the communication has been dire and there are some days they turn kids away at the door because they don't have staff (lots of the staff have left). Look elsewhere.
We made a formal complaint to one of the area managers as our initial complaint to the nursery manager was ignored (as were most of our other emails). The area managers response was unacceptable and we were not offered a meeting to discuss which I would have taken.
Do not send your children here.
I have spoken with the Nursery Manager and shared your feedback. She would like to take some time with you to look at this in more detail. Please share your availability with her. We value all our families' opinions and would like to make your remaining time at the nursery a happy journey before your son leaves for school.

It has been very sad to see the decline of this nursery over the past year. A change of management at the top means it has gone from being one of the best nurseries in the area to now losing talented staff on a weekly basis. And sadly as a result the care for the children is not consistent. There has been a real lack of communication with parents but also with the staff. They have brought in a new management team to try to address these significant issues (Ofsted have also been involved). We await to see if things will improve over the coming months.
We do thank you for your continued support and for choosing to stay with the nursery setting.
The Manager will happily arrange a parent one to one to discuss your concerns further.

Our experience with Bright Horizons Woking has been one of extreme frustration and disappointment. The communication has been absolutely diabolical at a time when it was needed more than ever. From 30 minute waits to get through the door to watching new parents being allowed to go to open days having never stepped foot through the door ourselves. There aren’t enough characters to list all of the issues we have had with Bright Horizons Woking. Let’s hope the new management sort it out for those parents who plan on keeping their children attending the nursery long term. They deserve much much better.
Terrible communication with parents, broke lawful carer to child ratios, subject to ongoing Ofsted review, extremely high turnover of staff, no consistent staff to child engagement, terrible management of children’s requirements, splitting up child friendship groups, parent car parking used by staff, buggy store full of broken cots, emergency access equipment blocked by storage, poor hygiene around building, inconsistent and unnecessary policy around medicines and illness. General lack of regard or care for paying customer.
Communication is a massive issue. The staff has been literally disappearing from the nursery once a new manager was appointed in September 2020. Lots of parents experience disruptions where we would get calls late in the evening or Friday to say your child could not attend the nursery the next day due to staffing issues.
Takes ages to chase invoices being corrected, 30 hours funding forms are not being sent out on time, emails are often left unanswered - the list is long. I have never had to spend so much time chasing while the previous manager was in charge.
All the staff at the nursery have been absolutely fantastic. They've kept the kids safe and happy throughout a very difficult time. My son absolutely loves going to nursery, and it's been great to give him some normality.
They have dealt with covid amazingly and provided support to the little ones and the parents.
Our friends and family have been so impressed with his progress that they would consider sending their own babies to the nursery in the future. 2020 was a testing year for all, but the nursery has been so supportive and has taken extra care to keep our children and families safe. We are very grateful to all the staff for everything they do and for giving us the peace of mind when we drop our son off every day. I would certainly recommend the nursery to anyone who is considering it as an option for their little one.
The standout feature of the nursery is the amazing staff team; the management team are excellent, in their hands the nursery is very well run, they provide great communication, are hands-on when needed, and always have time to engage with parents about their child. The team in the Adventurers room (0-2 years) have been fantastic from the outset, it's so reassuring to leave your child in the hands of people who clearly think the world of the children and are brilliantly organised and competent in what they do. Super friendly staff, loads of fun activities, great range of equipment in the room, good food - no wonder my son was happy there!
Easy drop off with storage for buggies and then 5 mins walk to the station to commute into London also meant the location suited us perfectly.
My wife and I are very happy with Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery and Preschool and we have found the staff and facilities to be brilliant! Our son loves his time at nursery and has developed so much whilst he has been there. We are at peace of mind whilst at work knowing that he's been taken care of so well. Thank you to everyone at Bright Horizons Woking. You are all amazing. Keep doing what you do.
My son really enjoys his time at this nursery. All staff and caregivers in the nursery are very friendly and involved with the children. They cycle through various activities which the children very much seem to enjoy. Parents are kept up to date about the happenings in the nursery and the key person for my child is always available to discuss any issues. The nursery is a safe environment for my child.
My daughter has been going to the nursery since she was 1 years old. They have taken very good care of her ever since. Over the years I have seen an improvement in how they teach and educate the kids. I am very impressed with the cleanliness and staff.
The Woking Nursery is expertly lead by the Management Team, who provide regular and well thought out communications to parents. The daily events, activities and overall curriculum provide a great start for the little ones along with teaching them the nursery behaviours and values. The staff are simply great and through their enthusiasm, patience and dedication, the Nursery quickly becomes one of the most important and talked about elements of your family life.
