A SPACIOUS AND INSPIRING NURSERY IN BARNES

You and your child will love Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool, designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years. The experienced and nurturing staff guide exciting learning activities to help your little one reach their full potential.

The purpose-built nursery rooms feature age-appropriate play and learning resources. The baby room has plenty of engaging sensory toys, a safe environment for exploring, and benefits from a separate sleep room, milk kitchen and nappy-changing room. The toddler room is full of new adventures, where children find their feet and begin building their independence. Painting, loose parts play, construction and messy play are all on the agenda as they learn how to navigate the world.

Preschoolers enjoy discovering new passions and interests as they gain the skills needed to progress to school. The Ready for School programme helps to develop their early maths and literacy skills, while encouraging them to pursue their creative side through Creative Cooks, Growing Artists and Growing Gardeners.

Barnes nursery has a small library area, which doubles as a quiet space to enjoy a book and, at other times, a music room to explore sound and rhythm with instruments.
Outside, they have two large gardens, split into a baby garden and a toddler and preschool space. There are trees, a covered seating area, a little bridge and space for tricycles and balance toys.

The Nursery offers all-inclusive fees, with all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes included – meaning you’ve got less to pack on a busy morning! All of the delicious food is freshly cooked every day by their own onsite chef.

Barnes Bright Horizons have really looked after our daughter throughout a difficult year for everyone. The staff have gone above and beyond and made us feel like our little girl is completely looked after.

Our daughter goes to this nursery and we are very happy with it! Staff were very supportive during potty training which we found very helpful and they, overall, always do their best to meet our needs/expectations as parents as well as our daughter’s. She really enjoys going in to nursery in the mornings,
has made many new friends and keeps learning new things!

My daughter recently started at Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool and is absolutely loving it. She actually looks forward to Mondays and sings on the way to the nursery. The staff have been incredibly caring and helpful, even with potty training. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

The staff are very supportive and welcoming. I was nervous leaving my eight-month-old baby for me to return to work but the staff have always made it feel like another home for her. The staff really know and care for the children and are very understanding about individual preferences and changes and
they adapt days, feeding, naps accordingly. The resources at the school are truly exceptional and it is a really beautiful place to start your education.

My child started five months ago just after the first lockdown. I was instantly reassured that the nursery had procedures in place and have good, high standards of cleanliness during the pandemic. Once my child started, her social skills improved and she was able to open up and interact with other people.
My child is always excited to go to Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool. They have good space, great activities and friendly staff. Highly recommend right Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool.

An outstanding nursery that provides the full spectrum of education and childcare. The staff are fantastic, going the extra mile to ensure the children are happy, entertained, challenged and cared for. My daughter is excited to go to nursery every morning, and we drop her off each day fully confident
in the experience she will have. The hours are very accommodating for working parents, and staff are very flexible to meet the needs of children and parents.

I have a child in preschool who absolutely loves going to nursery. Also, my second starts in the baby room soon. I choose Bright Horizons Barnes due to its opening hours which are better than other nurseries for working parents. Facilities and the quality of care are great. The Deputy Manager is absolutely
brilliant and always willing to help. Friendly and warm atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Our Son started Nursery in 2018 and from 2020 his sister went with him. The carers and personnel at Bright Horizons have been amazing from day one. They are like an extension of our family, who are living abroad. Both our children rush inside every single day to go and play in the nursery. Lots of different
activities, always interesting things going on and an amazing outdoor space.
I would 100% recommend this nursery to friends.

We are very happy with Bright Horizons Barnes Nursery. The staff are excellent, the rooms are bright and there is a very good outside play area.
Most importantly, our daughter is very happy there. She often asks about nursery when she is not there and always runs in smiling and happy.

This is a fantastic Nursery. My son has been attending since August last year and his speech and confidence has grown. Everything from his social skills to his vocabulary has come on faster than I ever imagined. He has made a lot of friends and has a lovely relationship with all the staff. They learn
something new every day and I love that they play outside in the fresh air every day which I think is extremely important. The staff are so welcoming to both parents and children and it is easy to address any queries or questions about my son's day to day learning.

We now have our second child in Barnes Bright Horizon. We have been very happy with the service, care and staff. The outdoor area is great and much larger than most of the nurseries in Greater London. The food is healthy and delicious and the staff are always happy, kind and warm towards the children.
We would very happily recommend the nursery to our friends.

My daughter has been with Bright Horizons Barnes for 2.5 years since she was 11 months and has only excelled. She has formed great relationships with her peers and staff. There is great outdoor space, structured days and tracked progress. She is coming towards the end of her time and we feel she is
now well prepared for school and has developed the necessary social skills. She is kept safe and has loads of fun and I would recommend the nursery highly.

Both our children attend Barnes Day Nursery and the fact that both are really excited to arrive at nursery in the morning illustrates how much they enjoy being there. The staff are warm and engaging and work hard to foster a family feel. We particularly appreciate the access that the children have to
outdoor space, which is relatively scarce at other nurseries. We have recommended the nursery to several local families already and will continue to do so.

The carers and personnel at Bright Horizons have been fantastic from day one. When my son started, English was not his native tongue but that never became a problem due to the very engaged carers. My two daughters attend this nursery and are both incredibly happy. Every morning they are so excited to be greeted by the kind and friendly staff and always report that they had fun during the day. My preschooler loves the pre-school education she receives and being with her friends in the garden.
My toddler loves all the staff who look after her and the meals!
The teachers are so helpful and have always made the time to talk to me about the girls.

The Barnes nursery managed the re-opening post lockdown with real professionalism. The admin at head office was appalling as no-one returned my calls over a six week period, but when the team were back on the ground in Barnes, they did everything to reunite the strong team, put rigorous controls in
place, increased cleaning across the site and most importantly welcomed all the children back. My daughter has thrived in the pre-school room and the nursery handled the transition after a long period at home extremely well. I have huge praise for the whole team and for their continued dedication to all the children and their colleagues during an incredibly difficult time for everyone.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Marie has been part of Bright Horizons for 14+ years and loves her position as Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool.

She holds a CACHE Level 3 Diploma Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce and began her childcare journey as a Nursery Assistant. Over the years, she has progressed through several key roles, including Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager.

This progression has provided Marie with a wealth of knowledge and experience, enabling her to effectively support her team in delivering inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children.

Daniella has been at Barnes Bright Horizons since September 2023, bringing over 13 years of experience in childcare. She began her career as an apprentice and later qualified as a Level 3 practitioner. After spending four years at a nursery, she progressed into a management role within a larger company in Lincoln, where she gained over four years of valuable leadership experience.

With a strong background in supporting children with SEND, Daniella is deeply passionate about child development. In her current role at Bright Horizons, she also serves as the SENCO lead, contributing to both the care of children and the professional growth of the staff team.

Job Title: Third in Charge

Aoife has held a longstanding passion for early years education, which was further deepened during her BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education. Her experience as a Playworker for children with SEND allowed her to apply academic research in real-world settings, inspiring her to pursue an MA in Inclusive Education: SEND and Disability.

While studying, Aoife gained hands-on experience working across various nursery settings, where she supported children's growth and development. Witnessing developmental milestones became a particular area of interest, ultimately leading her to the role of Toddler Room Leader at Barnes Day Nursery.

Building on this foundation, Aoife progressed to the position of Third in Charge, where she provides support across both the Baby and Toddler rooms. Her journey reflects a deepening understanding of early childhood development and a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment for all children in her care.
