A SPACIOUS AND INSPIRING NURSERY IN BARNES
You and your child will love Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool, designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years. The experienced and nurturing staff guide exciting learning activities to help your little one reach their full potential.
The purpose-built nursery rooms feature age-appropriate play and learning resources. The baby room has plenty of engaging sensory toys, a safe environment for exploring, and benefits from a separate sleep room, milk kitchen and nappy-changing room. The toddler room is full of new adventures, where children find their feet and begin building their independence. Painting, loose parts play, construction and messy play are all on the agenda as they learn how to navigate the world.
Preschoolers enjoy discovering new passions and interests as they gain the skills needed to progress to school. The Ready for School programme helps to develop their early maths and literacy skills, while encouraging them to pursue their creative side through Creative Cooks, Growing Artists and Growing Gardeners.
Barnes nursery has a small library area, which doubles as a quiet space to enjoy a book and, at other times, a music room to explore sound and rhythm with instruments.
Outside, they have two large gardens, split into a baby garden and a toddler and preschool space. There are trees, a covered seating area, a little bridge and space for tricycles and balance toys.
The Nursery offers all-inclusive fees, with all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes included – meaning you’ve got less to pack on a busy morning! All of the delicious food is freshly cooked every day by their own onsite chef.
Staff would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit and they will show you all their nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

This is a wonderful nursery! My son has been with the nursery since he was 10 months and is now nearing 3. In that time the leadership of the nursery has shone through with creative, nurturing and child-centric care, activities and learning opportunities. He is greeted each day by welcoming staff who know him and who he is excited to see. It is always tough leaving your child but it is made so much easier knowing that he is getting so much from the care and has made such progress with the team there as well as making little friends. I am really grateful.

Barnes Bright Horizons is simply outstanding - a nursery I would recommend without hesitation. My daughter has been attending for nearly three years, progressing through every room, and she is currently thriving in the pre-school room. The dedication the teachers bring to crafting activities that are educational, varied, and genuinely fun is remarkable. Not once has my daughter been reluctant to go - she looks forward to seeing her teachers and friends every single day. What sets Bright Horizons Barnes apart is that it truly caters to the whole family. As parents, we have always felt heard and supported whenever we've had questions or concerns. The communication through their app is exceptional - we receive regular updates on our daughter's day along with plenty of photos of her activities, which gives us enormous peace of mind.
I feel so fortunate to have chosen this nursery. Three years in, I genuinely cannot imagine a better one. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Barnes team!

The nursery staff are so kind and friendly and it's great seeing the detailed updates on my child's learning and progression. The free play, cooking and learning their number and letters has grown my daughter's confidence so much and I love seeing her use these new found skills at home.

The management and team from the last year or so have done a great job in turning Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool into a well-run ship! Staff turnover has decreased and all the staff there are just wonderful. They've started putting more effort into learning activities for the children across all areas from yoga, literature, gardening and science. As well as family activities where parents get to come in and visit for Halloween and Christmas. The staff are very warm and caring and show interest in the children's development. The chef is great and prepares meals that my little one talks about all the time. Overall, we are very happy with Bright Horizons and the team should be very proud of what they have built for the little ones.

Our little boy started at his first nursery (aged 12 months) this summer. Like most parents, we were nervous but the nursery had many 'stay and play' and settling-in days. We were drawn to the fact that the baby room was large and light, with a good ratio of staff. The team have been so welcoming to us and our little one. They provide many different activities to keep learning and play varied - and we loved that there is an outdoor space. It's early days but we're so pleased we chose this nursery. He is cared for, entertained and kept safe by a warm and capable team. Would definitely recommend!

Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool really put my mind at ease when leaving my 1-year-old at school. I receive daily photos of my boy, along with explanations on what the children are learning and the fun they are having. Last week the children learnt about "modes of transport". The children sang 'The wheels on the bus', they learnt actions, they painted buses and made wheels turn in the sandpit. The daily app also shows what the children have eaten - these are nutritionally based diets and the school recently won an award for "quality and cooking with heart". A fantastic achievement. The biggest thing for me though is the fact that my son loves going to this nursery and he is always excited to see his teachers and to learn new things.
Thank you Bright Horizons Barnes for aiding my son's confidence as he grows into a toddler.

Our son has been attending Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool for eighteen months, since April 2023. He started out with a friendly and energetic team in the toddler room and currently loves his days in the preschool room. This has been our first nursery experience as parents and it has been such a positive one. The continuity of the staff has been excellent, as has their communication and care towards our son. The activities planned are fun and the learning space (indoor and outdoor) is great. Thank you to everyone who is part of the team at Barnes Bright Horizons - you are a brilliant team!

Both our boys go to Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool. We couldn't be happier. The staff are all fantastic and are thoroughly invested in each child's development and needs. Our eldest started when he was 18 months old. He instantly made great connections with his "teachers" and now he is 3 and has made strong friendships. Our youngest joined at just 4 months old - now 6 months, he goes in every day with a smile and an eager happy wriggle! We are so comforted knowing each boy has made true connections to their key workers and enjoys themselves every day.
