A SPACIOUS AND INSPIRING NURSERY IN BARNES

You and your child will love Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool, designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years. The experienced and nurturing staff guide exciting learning activities to help your little one reach their full potential.

The purpose-built nursery rooms feature age-appropriate play and learning resources. The baby room has plenty of engaging sensory toys, a safe environment for exploring, and benefits from a separate sleep room, milk kitchen and nappy-changing room. The toddler room is full of new adventures, where children find their feet and begin building their independence. Painting, loose parts play, construction and messy play are all on the agenda as they learn how to navigate the world.

Preschoolers enjoy discovering new passions and interests as they gain the skills needed to progress to school. The Ready for School programme helps to develop their early maths and literacy skills, while encouraging them to pursue their creative side through Creative Cooks, Growing Artists and Growing Gardeners.

Barnes nursery has a small library area, which doubles as a quiet space to enjoy a book and, at other times, a music room to explore sound and rhythm with instruments.
Outside, they have two large gardens, split into a baby garden and a toddler and preschool space. There are trees, a covered seating area, a little bridge and space for tricycles and balance toys.

The Nursery offers all-inclusive fees, with all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes included – meaning you’ve got less to pack on a busy morning! All of the delicious food is freshly cooked every day by their own onsite chef.

Staff would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit and they will show you all their nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

My son has been attending since Nov 2015 and has loved every day so far! He literally runs into the class every day and doesn't want to leave at the end. The staff are extremely warm, kind and fun and its evident my son is very comfortable with them. The fact that the Nursery's manager's own son attends
the facility really says it all. The facility itself is of the highest standard, basically brand new and they have thought of everything. Small details like 3 types of sinks - all with different taps (twist, lift and sensor) that they children will meet in real life make this place stand out to me. The kids also have their own fully kitted-out mini kitchen with all mini appliances for them to learn to cook while using the ingredients from the garden they have planted themselves. The outdoor area is state of the art. There are many other aspects I could rave about but a parent must visit the nursery to get the full effect for themselves. Lastly, the safety of the facility is fantastic.

This nursery is absolutely outstanding.
Top quality staff, top quality nursery and care.
I cannot fault this place in anyway, wonderful menu for my kids, lots of activities to do.
I couldn't imagine leaving my kids anywhere else.
After seeing many other nurseries as soon as I came here I knew it
was the best decision I've made and it's worth every penny.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Marie has been part of Bright Horizons for 14+ years and loves her position as Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Barnes Day Nursery and Preschool.


She holds a CACHE Level 3 Diploma Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce and began her childcare journey as a Nursery Assistant. Over the years, she has progressed through several key roles, including Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager.


This progression has provided Marie with a wealth of knowledge and experience, enabling her to effectively support her team in delivering inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children.


She is committed to maintaining a stimulating, nurturing environment where every child has the best possible start in their educational journey.

Daniella

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Daniella has been at Barnes Bright Horizons since September 2023, bringing over 13 years of experience in childcare. She began her career as an apprentice and later qualified as a Level 3 practitioner. After spending four years at a nursery, she progressed into a management role within a larger company in Lincoln, where she gained over four years of valuable leadership experience.


With a strong background in supporting children with SEND, Daniella is deeply passionate about child development. In her current role at Bright Horizons, she also serves as the SENCO lead, contributing to both the care of children and the professional growth of the staff team.


She looks forward to continuing her journey at Bright Horizons and making a positive impact within the setting.

Aoife

Job Title: Third in Charge

Aoife has held a longstanding passion for early years education, which was further deepened during her BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education. Her experience as a Playworker for children with SEND allowed her to apply academic research in real-world settings, inspiring her to pursue an MA in Inclusive Education: SEND and Disability.


While studying, Aoife gained hands-on experience working across various nursery settings, where she supported children's growth and development. Witnessing developmental milestones became a particular area of interest, ultimately leading her to the role of Toddler Room Leader at Barnes Day Nursery.


Building on this foundation, Aoife progressed to the position of Third in Charge, where she provides support across both the Baby and Toddler rooms. Her journey reflects a deepening understanding of early childhood development and a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment for all children in her care.
