The Sunflower Children's Centre is an innovative day nursery offering full flexible daycare and a support partnership for parents.

Sunflower is an award-winning Day Nursery owned and managed by mums who want to deliver the best care possible, to innovate and educate each unique child and to ensure the best start in the important early years from birth to school and beyond.

As a paperless nursery, a transparent electronic learning system is used which enables parents to access their child's learning 24/7.

Throughout the day parents receive electronic updates, enabling to feel part of the child's day and not missing any precious moments.

The Sunflower Children's Centre is a purposely built secure setting, designed to ensure children have continuous access to a covered outside area whatever the weather.

The outdoor area provides natural surfaces and is being set up by experienced practitioners to ensure children have the correct resources to excite and engage, encouraging confident, enthusiastic learners.

The preschool children also have the opportunity to attend Forest school which is within the grounds.

I would recommend this nursery to anyone. The staff are all so lovely and polite and are brilliant with the children. Honestly can’t praise them enough! Fabulous nursery and fabulous staff!

Although at first, my child found it hard to settle, she now thoroughly enjoys her time at nursery. All of the staff have displayed patience and understanding and have supported her to feel comfortable and make secure attachments.

Fabulous nursery, lively setting, staff really approachable and friendly. Key worker has an incredible bond with my child. He constantly asks to go to her house (the nursery). I couldn't recommend enough.

The staff at Sunflower always go above and beyond to help out. My son has some very minor issues and they always make time to ask how's he's getting on at the specialist and if there is anything they can do to help.
We know the names of all the staff members and we are welcomed by each one of them
upon arrival and departure.
My son and daughter love going in. My daughter who's very young insists we say hello to everyone in her classroom as we pass. She's always trying to lean over and have a look as we pass. My son goes running in every morning and gets upset when it's not nursery day.
The staff are so professional, upbeat and clearly love their jobs. Definitely recommend having a look around the nursery if you're thinking of enrolling your child.

My child has been attending Sunflower nursery for just over a year. She settled very quickly and has a great time there. The staff are lovely and very enthusiastic, always coming up with new and exciting things to do with the children. I'm very glad that I chose Sunflower for my child, and I'm going

My 22-month-old daughter has recently started at this nursery and I am personally amazed and highly satisfied with the nursery, the staff and their policies. My daughter has really bad separation issues but even only attending one day a week, she has settled really well in a short space of time. The
communication between staff and parents is very clear and having the app is a Godsend for parents who worry about their children like me, without having to make constant phone calls to check how she is, I can check the app for updates very quickly. The nursery is warm welcoming and friendly, professional staff always to greet you. I like how the children have access to big outdoor space and also the outdoor space which is covered to protect from bad weather but still allows them to have fresh air.

This lovely nursery was recommended to me by a friend and I can honestly say I am so happy my child goes there. He enjoys going in and has a funfilled day and plays happily and eats and sleeps well and comes home happy. We think all the staff are lovely and friendly and take time to speak with you.

I was so unsure about leaving my child in the care of other people whilst going back to work. Will they love her, like her, protect her as I would. I had no need to worry. My daughter loves going to nursery, talks about it constantly. I know she is safe, loved and protected. I feel the staff all love
the children like their own which is a real bonus. They are all friendly and approachable. She has come on so much and is a lot more advanced through going to nursery. Any questions, queries I’ve had they answered them straight away and are very honest. I do not have a negative comment to make and love the fact I get pictures throughout the day. Gets me through the day and really cheers me up seeing and knowing what she’s up to.

I can’t thank the staff enough for how amazing they have been with my two boys that attend here. The support they have shown my son and also myself has been second to none. My eldest son has attended a previous nursery prior to starting The Sunflower, he struggled at first but the staff supported him
and didn’t give up on him, and I can honestly say by far this nursery is outstanding. The care they have given my children, I couldn’t ask for anything better, from the constant updates of pictures and activities throughout the day, puts me at ease knowing they are both happy. Thank you to all The Sunflowers staff, you are truly amazing at what you do.

The quality of this setting is outstanding. The staff are extremely caring and show genuine affection towards my child. They all go above and beyond to ensure they provide only the very best care. Their communication system allows them to share information and photo's of my child throughout the day
in real time, this was particularly helpful when my little boy was settling in. The outdoor facilities are excellent and my little boy loves to explore the wide range of resources on offer. The setting is clearly managed to a very high standard and I would highly recommend this provider to any parent looking for childcare. Thank you for everything you do.

This is the third nursery I have tried, and can honestly say I wish I had known about this nursery first. The care is outstanding, the facilities are amazing and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. My son is 2.5 years and absolutely loves Sunflower. He is quite a clingy, emotional child and needs
reassurance in the mornings, and this is what he gets at Sunflower. If he ever has an off day and is a bit grumpy in the mornings, the staff send me a picture of him within 15 minutes showing how happy he is, which is great for me as I like the reassurance when I am leaving him all day. His key worker is brilliant and knows him so well. All of the staff give a warm, personalised experience. The outdoor area is fantastic and the extra touches to the nursery are lovely; the stage and role play areas in preschool are great. I would really recommend visiting this nursery and having a look before you go anywhere else.

My granddaughter attends the nursery three days a week. She is looked after by confident and competent staff all who are caring and comforting when they greet her each morning. During the day she is given many valuable opportunities and experiences to grow and learn new and exciting things. She is very

I have tried quite a few nurseries in the area due to job changes and The Sunflower is by far the best. The staff are the most pleasant and friendly bunch of people, and very caring which was so reassuring as I work long hours and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities help with potty training,
and meals for my daughter were outstanding. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic nursery and the staff are like our extended family. Our Triplets love going which gives my partner and I peace of mind. We love daily connect it gives us access to the children's activities during the day whilst we are at work and all 3 of our children are on track and exceeding
in all development areas.

My little girl has been going to Sunflower nursery since she 11 months to now 2 and a half years and she can stay there until she goes to school as they accept the 30 free hours for 3-year-olds. She loves circle time, playing in the large outdoor area and making lots of things.
It's a great nursery
and I love getting the updates at work on what she is doing online and pictures really put me at ease that she is having a nice day as I found it really hard to leave her.
They are really reliable when I have been stuck for childcare other days and they have managed to help me and let her come extra days or I have had to change days at work they have always been great at anything I need to change.
They always keep you updated on what's going on and do special days and parties over special times of year. They also offer other things like a coffee once you have dropped them off to have on your way to work and babysitting extras as well.

Elaine Sagar

Elaine embarked on a career in Childcare in 2008 and founded The Sunflower Group in 2014.


She is passionate about Early Years Education. She is a fervent supporter of all aspects of early learning, representing the Early Years in her role as OBC Co-Chairperson, Schools Forum (EY Representative) and Chair of Tameside Nursery Network. Elaine is also a regular contributor to BBC Breakfast TV when representing the Early Years sector in the North West.


Elaine takes a "hands-on" approach to supporting her ever-expanding team of practitioners.


Elaine is committed to every child receiving the best start in their early education.

Dawn

Dawn Gibbons

Job Title: Operations Director/Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

Dawn Gibbons joined the company at its inception in 2014 as a Level 6 Lead Practitioner.


She has progressed through to now leading practice across the company alongside managing her Hyde setting with her senior management team.


Dawn has been recognised nationally for her dedication to practice when she received the National Award for Operations Director from Nursery World in 2019.


She is committed to ensuring that children and families are at the heart of everything we do at Sunflower.

Natalie Hoszowskyj

Job Title: Parent Partnership Manager Joined: 2013

Although Natalie took up her position as one of the Managerial Team in 2014 and has worked for the company CEO for the past 21 years. Natalie has a wealth of managerial experience that she has brought to the team. Along with her experience in childcare, Natalie is able to lead and support both her team and families within the centre.


Natalie has recently become our Partnership with Parents Manager. This role was created to ensure our families always receive the best support across all our centres.

Bob Wynn

Meet our Training Director Bob Wynn. Bob joined the company as a Headmaster bringing many years of leadership in education to the company. When the school closed Bob developed his skills in other areas and retrained to lead our team in quality professional development.


Bob leads our team in Safeguarding, First Aid and Self-regulation. He also leads Physical Education and Forest School along with the team and children.

Andrina Biddle

Andrina joined Sunflower Hyde as a Senior Practitioner in 2014, bringing a wealth of knowledge in all areas of practice and her specialism and passion for Speech and Language. Andrina progressed to our Senior Management Team and now holds the position of Duty Manager at our Hyde Setting.


Andrina is our Speech and Language Champion and not only does she teach practitioners and support children within our nurseries, but she also supports other nurseries by sharing her skills.

Wendy joined our Sunflower team back in 2018, bringing a wealth of experience in all areas of practice to our team. Wendy progressed to Buds Room Leader and her caring nature is what makes Wendy perfect to Lead this room and team.

Sam Holland

Job Title: Executive Chef/ Level 6 Childcare Practitioner Joined: 2020

Sam joined Sunflower in 2020 as our setting chef, however, Sam has previously been with the company for many years. Sam has completed a BA Hons in Childcare as well as holding many qualifications in catering.


She caters for all of our children and provides nutritious homemade meals.


Sam does cooking groups with the pre-school children which help develop their skills in using tools, maths and language development.
