The Orange Tree Day Nursery @ Hucknall is a beautiful nursery set in wonderful grounds in the centre of Hucknall. Specialist experienced staff will provide fun learning opportunities and experiences for your child from 6 weeks to 5 years of age and holiday and out of school provision for children up to 8 years of age.

The Baby Suite provides a tranquil place where your baby will be nurtured and cherished, baby music and sensory sessions will provide stimulation and fun.

Your child will have an opportunity to learn French, learn to swim and take part in 1st Ball Sports sessions.

Fully funded places are available for 2, 3, and 4 year olds. Please feel welcome to visit at any time.

I absolutely love Orange Tree Nursery Hucknall, the facilities are great, my son attended 2 nurseries previously and I hated taking him until he came to Orange Tree. I would never take him anywhere else he is due to start school in September, so he will no longer attend but I will certainly be sending
my little girl there once my maternity leave finishes. The staff are fantastic, Especially his keyworker, I literally couldn't wish for a better lady to be involved with my child's care!

Since the move to the new premises and huge investment, the nursery has gone from strength to strength. My son has come on leaps and bounds in confidence and ability. He has learnt so much - he often tells me things I wouldn't have expected him to know for 3 1/2. The classrooms are busy but look like
fun, the toys are in good condition overall and a nice variety. The gym and outside facilities are amazing and the staff are attentive and well mannered, fantastic role models for the children. The variation and portions of the food sometimes seem limited but my son always seems to be happy! You can't put a price on your children being safe and happy but the fees do seem on the steep side - although not compared to like for like competitors.

I am always impressed with the level of detailed knowledge the staff have about my daughter; they are very approachable. The smile on her face as we enter the nursery in the morning is all the confirmation I need!

Absolutely brilliant nursery the girls are fantastic with the kids. Beautiful looking nursery plenty of outside play area and toys, my daughter loves it, she goes to after school club most days and also in the school holiday she is even excited to go next week for the whole week. The nursery is always
clean and today, everyone is very helpful and if I have another baby I would put them in to this nursery without a doubt.

We currently have two children at The Orange Tree, one 3 years old (has been there for around 1 year) and one 13 months old (has been there for around 6 months). As a parent, I think you will always identify areas that are less than 'perfect' when you entrust what is essentially a large part of bringing
up your child to other individuals, but overall we are very happy with the experience we have had. Both children are developing well but most importantly are happy, settled and well adjusted. Staff range from truly exceptional to very good; all work with you and leave you in no doubt that they care for your children as if they are their own. Educational opportunities for both are appropriate and in the case of our 3-year-old, challenging and undoubtedly preparing her for being one of the youngest in her class when she attends school later this year. The nursery is a bright and stimulating environment with a lovely outdoor space that is used as much as possible.

My children absolutely love this nursery I started sending my youngest at 6 months, he is always so happy when I take him, the staff are great. My oldest has formed close bonds with the staff/key workers and has made loads of friends, will be very sad when he finally goes to primary school. The new
building is very good, one of the best I have seen and the resources for the children are great. The staff they have are very good at helping my children progress. Would highly recommend this nursery.

Lovely nursery lots for the kids to do. My son can't wait to get to nursery he's always greeted with a big smile and hello from all the children and the nursery nurses. He comes home with lots of stories of what they've been doing that day. He enjoys it that much I even book him for an extra day when
I'm not at work. I've recommended the nursery to lots of people now to. It's always clean and is a nice bright set up.

Lovely environment and friendly staff meant both our daughters settled quickly and have thoroughly enjoyed their time here. Communication is good and they both seem very happy.
The baby gym is brilliant in poor weather and our youngest loves the big computer screen in pre-school.
Outdoor space is
being improved upon all the time and there is lots of space.
Any small issues are dealt with quickly and professionally.

When my son first started nursery in April 2016 I was apprehensive as I am a full-time mum and& this was the first time he was going to be away from me. However I soon realised he was in good safe hands & if he wasn't with me I feel this was the next best thing. All the staff are friendly helpful &
engaging. It's a great environment for my son to develop & he has made many friends.
Upon entering the premises if you meet any member of staff they always greet you and your child each & every time. The outside & inside have all been well thought out & its colourful, engaging & fun.
I was extremely disappointed my son was sick before Christmas & was unable to attend both the nursery & the nativity but I was impressed that they contacted me to say my son had made several Christmas items & cards so I was able to collect them & enjoy them instead of getting them in January.
Definitely glad my son attends the nursery here & already have my second son's name down as I wouldn't want anywhere else

Staff are extremely friendly and personable and make you feel like they genuinely know and understand your child.


The nursery has an excellent vibe and feel, a great combination of learning and play.

My daughter loves her nursery, I have been extremely happy with her progress and development. The girls are all fantastic and my daughter really does have a very trusting and positive relationship with all of them. I couldn't have found a better place for my daughter to be, while I'm at work I know
I don't have to worry. I trust them totally, we are very grateful for how hard the girls all work and their positive and fun attitude towards work. Thanks.

My little boy has been attending The Orange Tree for (almost) a year. I came to look around The Orange Tree after hearing good things about the low staffing ratios and was instantly impressed with how homely it felt and how friendly the staff are. I bought my child for a taster session the next day
and he was so happy. He loves the food, there is an indoor gym so he can burn off energy even when the weather is bad and loves playing outside. He has lots of friends and talks about his nursery nurses so fondly. I've noticed how much time the staff put in with him. He is reading already, can write his name and talks in full sentences and is just gone 3 years old and is always encouraged to be himself. I believe much of how content and confident he is is down to all at The Orange Tree. He will be staying until he starts school at 5 years old. This was his third nursery and by far the best he's been to.

Absolutely brilliant nursery. We moved to Hucknall last year and was worried about my little boy settling in but the staff here were fantastic. He straight away formed a close bond with select few staff members who encouraged him to play with other children and really come out of his shell. Now he absolutely
loves going to nursery every day and has so many friends who he gets excited to see every day. It is such a relief seeing your child run off and wave goodbye to you each morning knowing he is happy and in safe hands.


Such a breath of fresh air compared to other nurseries which my child has been to previously - the environment is so bright, modern and clean. He really has come on leaps and bounds since starting at The Orange Tree and with another child on the way, I feel comfortable knowing both my children will thrive here. Only downside is that it is quite expensive in comparison to other nurseries but I would rather pay a little extra for the standard of care you receive.

Such a wonderful nursery - our child has been coming here since 12 months old and our second child will be coming here later this year. The nursery is light, bright and very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and professional and you feel confident that your child is in safe hands and being looked
after to the highest standard. The activities for the children are tailored according to age and are varied each day with lots of creative/messy play with an educational element in a lot of what they do. Would not hesitate to recommend.
