I have total faith that every member of staff has my child's best interest at heart. They all show total commitment and care for the children. I feel there is a real interest in their development. If I have more children I won't hesitate to send them here!

My son joined Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool at the beginning of July into the baby room. He loves attending the nursery and happily goes to the staff members in his room who are always very welcoming and bright, even so early in the mornings. There is always such a variety of
activities and toys available to them and I always hear how messy my child has got throughout the day as well as having fun. The food is outstanding and such a healthy balanced diet suitable for all children's needs!

An amazing nursery and wonderful staff.

My daughter joined the nursery aged 10 months and was immediately made to feel welcome and given the support required in the baby room. She enjoys playing with the staff and other children and has definitely developed a number of positive new skills during the last 6 months that she hasn't learnt at
home. The food menu is varied, providing her with a balanced diet suitable for her age. I have no concerns about her well-being while she is at the nursery and I am always kept informed about her progress by the staff at the end of each day.

She is currently moving from the Baby room to the Discoverers room. I feel that this transition has been done at the right time and been handled appropriately in terms of the gradual exposure she has been given to the new environment.

A really professional nursery. Excellent feedback regarding child's long term and day to day development. My children are extremely happy here and love attending the nursery. They take part in lots of activities during the day and staff know them and their needs well.

My son has been at the nursery since June and has settled in very well. The staff are very caring, he loves his key worker and he has great fun playing with the other children. The nursery is clean and has good facilities. My son has allergies and the chef is very organised and makes something separate
for him if the meals on the menu are not suitable.

It has been a nurturing home for our daughter. She continuously talks during the weekend of her coming back to the nursery, the activities they do over there, her friends, and the staff.
To be surrounded by kids her age, all experiencing growing together, and with the caring staff looking after
them is just great. We speak another language at home, and her English is just excellent. She interacts great with her peers despite being an only child, and we just love the attention and help she gets in her development.

Used to be a really outstanding nursery but since it has been taken over, the amount spent on resources for the children seems to have gone down, there are always staffing issues and there has not been the continuity or experience in management. However saying that, my child is usually happy there.

Great nursery. The staff are outstanding in their commitment to the happiness, wellbeing and development of the children. The daily communication keeps me well informed about the day so I can prepare adequately for our evening together (more hungry or tired than usual, etc).

The groups of children

are fairly small and seem to work well in terms of allowing the children to interact and build friendships, and for the staff to have good oversight and ability to attend to and comfort each individual child. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They are always happy to speak on the phone should you require updates (or just some comforting yourself that your child is having a good time if drop-off was a bit traumatic one day). The nursery managers are also excellent.

The few downsides all relate to the space available. All indoor activities (even the sandpit) are in one room for the smaller children. The outdoor play area is AstroTurf under a roof, and quite small just by a car park.

I cannot speak highly enough about this nursery. The care and personal support they provide to my daughter is first class. The specially created diets for the children are first class. She is not just a number here and has come along in leaps and bounds in every way since starting. All the staff are
a credit to Kidsunlimited.

I have 2 children and have tried it all - childminders, au pairs, playgroups, day nurseries.....you name it. So I can claim some authority on childcare provision.

KU Carshalton ticks all the boxes. Simply put, they've thought about everything me and my child needs.

Opening early at 7.30 so I

can catch my train to work.
Well-equipped facilities for all the age groups catered for.
On-site prepared meals by resident cook.
EYFS curriculum followed to the tee
Constructive learning through play
Staff that truly love and want to be around children and not just putting in a day's shift for pay
Well conceived and understood processes by staff
Parent communication is timely

And most importantly, my child is happy there.

Small wonder the waiting list is so long.

Love the nursery! My daughter has been so happy and enjoys each day there, especially playing in the giant sand pit in the garden.

The girls in my daughters room seem to genuinely care for her and will keep me updated with how she's been. We couldn't ask for more!

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.286)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.286) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.694 for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.694
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.592 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.692
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
