My nephew's progression is astounding and I put this down to his nursery. He’s been attending since he was 6 months old and now as a bouncy little toddler. The staff and management are amazing. His little bond with his key person is delightful and I love dropping him to nursery and seeing his little
face light up.

Based on the progress of my niece/nephew, who seems to be progressing very well at the nursery, I would well recommend it. My niece/nephew happily goes into the nursery so surely that's a good sign of the care being given in parents absence. My niece/nephew has made some special little friends there
which is lovely to see. There are various activities organised for the children at the nursery and my niece/nephew always looks forward to them. The staff members seem to know each child as an individual and independence seems to be encouraged as well.

Since my niece has been at this nursery, she has learnt so much. She will often come home and tell me about her day and what she has been learning. This week, pre-school did a science week and I was amazed at the activities that she told me she had participated in, from learning about what things are
magnetic to making a volcano explode. So definitely credit goes out to the hard-working staff to make this happen. I would definitely recommend this nursery to everyone.

I’m really happy with Bright Horizons Day Nursery and very much believe in the Manager who has been within the company for years which speaks volumes. She drives high standards across the Nursery and is very approachable. If there has ever been feedback I’ve needed to give, she is extremely receptive
and takes action immediately. My son has a health condition and the staff manage this very well. They become to know your child and understand their needs. I do think the outdoor space could be improved but aside from that I really can’t say anything negative. The staff are very attentive and caring and the friendships my son has formed is fantastic.

Our son has been in the nursery for 3.5 years and has flourished at the nursery. The food is all cooked in-house, healthy and interesting, the managers are always keen to have parent feedback and the school ready room has really helped him to learn and improve in all manner of ways with an exceptional
teacher.

I would recommend this nursery!

My child has spent the past year attending the nursery, he is a very energetic child and the nursery staff have done extremely well catering to his needs by providing lots of outdoor play and physical activities! On a day to day at hand over I’m always told about his day in detail by his key person.
My son is quite a fussy eater and the girls are very helpful and understanding of this, the chef has also given me some ways to introduce him to foods he wouldn’t normally eat - he has come a long way from this! Would highly recommend this nursery!

This nursery is truly outstanding and we feel so lucky that our son has spent the last 4 years here.

Our son is now in the 'school ready' room and I am amazed on a daily basis at the speed at which the children are learning. My son is always happy to go into nursery in the mornings and he has a

big smile on his face when he sees his key worker. He is always met with a warm welcome and asked how he is. The activities throughout the day are fun and engaging and more often than not my son tells me about his day without me having to ask him as he is so excited to tell me about what he has done.

The menu is fantastic, offering delicious yet nutritional food and the menu is clearly displayed in reception and in the children's rooms. The nursery regularly invests in new resources for the children, ensuring that the toys are fun and educational. The staff are kind and caring and the Management Team are exceptional. I would not hesitate in recommending this nursery.

My oldest has just completed 4 years here and now has started school and my youngest attends.
The nursery is a happy, friendly and welcoming place. The manager is fantastic and the staff make sure the parents feel happy leaving the kids there. Food is excellent (much better than my cooking!), safeguarding
very good and processes are followed without exception relating to injury and behaviour. Both my children are very happy here.
As with all nurseries, there is often changes in staff but there are some key staff who have made our experience wonderful here. All confidently communicate with parents and really seem to love childcare so, in turn, makes me feel that my children are cared for.
Only negative is regular meetings where the onus is on the parents to arrange and are often missed. Please, can I recommend a parents evening and/or key workers to set meetings with parents and follow up with an email reminder so it's more formal.

All I've ever wanted from nursery is for my children to be cared for and cuddled if upset....the passion, kindness and effort put in by the majority of the staff is excellent.
They have listened when I've had concerns and been flexible and accommodating to my children's needs. The management always
has time to talk to you and seem to strive for improvement across all rooms.
The outside space could be better but they make the most of what they have.... like all Nursery's, sometimes I've felt my child has been aimlessly wandering around.... but this is all part of learning to play.
I would highly recommend this nursery to others.

My baby daughter is only ten months old, so leaving her for four days a week filled me with dread. But the staff at Bright Horizons have been amazing and made me, my husband and baby feel completely at ease in making the translation to nursery.

Staff are friendly, communicative and kind. I can already

see that my confident little girl is developing so quickly there. She has had all different types of food and done a range of activities including sensory and craft that I would not have even thought of doing.

Both management and staff in the baby room have gone out of their way to answer any questions and to look after our daughter. She smiles when she gets there, plays all day and when we arrive back she is content, well fed and still smiling.

I'd recommend Bright Horizons to anyone.

Our son is extremely happy and settled at nursery and this is partly why we have made the decision to keep him here rather than transfer him to a school nursery for his last year before school.
The staff are fantastic - really engaged and keen to contribute to our son's development.
There are always
activities for the children to participate in and the staff follow the Early year's framework. You always know what they will be doing as they share this info on a board in the rooms. Good ratio of staff to children and a lovely space for the children to play in outside.
Our son's confidence has increased so much due in part to the staff at the nursery and they gently encourage the children to develop friendships with different children which helps prepare them for school.
The food provided is nutritious and varied and our son has tried foods he would not have had the opportunity to at home.
Overall very happy with the nursery and preschool and would happily recommend.

Our daughter has some special requirements and the nursery has been extremely diligent in meeting them. The sole improvement to be made is purely logistical and would be the addition of a later collection/closing time. Most parents work in London and it can be a struggle to get to 6pm pickup. I would
happily pay up until 6:30.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.286)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.286) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.694 for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.694
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.592 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.692
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
