My daughter attended Carshalton Day Nursery, and she enjoys her time here and enjoys all the fun activities they provide. She has learnt to potty train while at nursery; the staff are amazing at supporting this. The meals at Carshalton are lovely and nutritious, also the team are amazing and welcoming.
Thank you, Carshalton, for your care you provide for my daughter; she is always so happy to come to the nursery.

My son joined in May 2021 he is one year old. This was the first experience for such a young child in nursery for me and the whole team were empathetic and supportive towards the anxieties I had.
My son happily goes into nursery two days a week and I feel comfortable leaving him. Staff all come across
as caring, professional and motivated.
There is a nursery app that I find extremely useful when I’m at work to just have a check on what my son has been up to. It updates when/how much food they’ve had, nappy changes, sleep patterns etc. It also sends notifications when they upload pictures of my son which is lovely to see him enjoying his day.
Each week we receive info on what the learning focus has been. I get to see tables that have fun learning-based activities out ready for my son to enjoy!
Bright Horizons Carshalton is always a clean environment and I always feel my son is getting the best care.
The food has a great variety and is cooked on site. Lots of snacks as well!

My sons have all attended Bright Horizons Carshalton, our eldest has left but two are still there. We as a family have always had a wonderful experience there. Despite the current challenges imposed with COVID affecting personal interactions, staffing levels, routine activities. The team at the nursery
have taken it in their stride and managed them well. They have made the necessary changes that needed to be made, almost seamless. As a family, we feel confident that our children's needs are being taken care of. They are being looked after in a caring and friendly environment. The team from management, room staff and kitchen staff work very hard. They are always kind, polite and accessible. I would recommend this nursery to friends and family.

The second of my two daughters has now left the nursery and we could not be happier with the Carshalton Branch. The setting is well looked after, spacious and exciting for children.
The chef is amazing making food that my children enjoyed at each meal! The room leaders and confident, friendly and
supportive to parents and children. All the staff are friendly and caring, always with a welcome smile. The management team are hardworking and made so much effort for graduation (even with Covid restrictions). We will miss the team at Carshalton and I’d like to thank every one of them for their love and care in looking after my children.

The nursery has been outstanding in the support provided to my daughter who had speech delays and also poor play skills and development. As a parent working full-time I spend just a fraction of the day with my kids and to have a nursery with excellent staff who go above and beyond in supporting my daughter
with her speech delay is a blessing to me. All the staff have been excellent but I will like to show appreciation and respect to three members of the team, these individuals have been outstanding and no amount of words can describe the professionalism they display.

Our child is in baby 1 and he absolutely loves his days at Bright Horizons. He had a hard time settling in, but the staff are so kind and really helped him. He now has such strong relationships with everyone there and has the most amazing time there.

We are very pleased with the nursery. Our daughter is bi-lingual and we have seen a very fast learning curve in her language development (English language.) The staff provided us with a lot of support and feedback on our daughter settling at the nursery. The handling of the covid pandemic has been good,
we are kept well informed about rules and measures that the nursery is taking on. Overall, I'm very happy with the nursery and its staff.

My son started in September 2020 at 12 months and the staff have been great at supporting him to settle in after initial separation problems due to lockdown. He now toddles in happily each morning and is thriving.

The staff know him really well and set targets for him based on what he can already

do, his interests and our parental aspirations. The staff know him well and show that they really care about him.

Every day we receive a report of his day detailing his nappies, sleep, food and activities done that day.

I have no hesitation in recommending Bright Horizons Carshalton.

We have been extremely impressed by this nursery, our daughter is incredibly happy here and even after spending 3 months at home during lockdown she happily transitioned back to nursery life.
The nursery is very well run and has had a brilliant new manager since the start of the year. All staff are
incredibly friendly and caring. We have had great communication during the pandemic. They even managed a parents day last month - which was really helpful now that we can't go into the nursery.
The nursery has a lovely modern, clean setting and a great on-site chef with a brilliant menu.
We are very happy with this nursery.

My daughter has been at the Carshalton Bright Horizons for over one year now, having started at age 11 months old. She settled really quickly as a baby and she settled really well again in August after lockdown. My daughter is very happy and content at this nursery, which is a testament to the staff
and the level of care they offer. The staff are professional and so warm, friendly and caring and I know my daughter has so much fun during her 4 full days there each week. Her communication skills have developed rapidly over the last few months and she talks with so much joy about the individual staff, the other children and her daily activities when at home with us. Overall I would highly recommend this nursery as a place where, in my opinion, your child will feel happy and secure.

My child spent a year here and had such a positive experience. The staff really helped with the settling in period. Once settled, they have done so many different activities with my child, really lovingly care and support them in their development. I would highly recommend Bright Horizons Carshalton.

I went to get my niece yesterday and was welcomed by a friendly manager who wore full PPE, checked with me my name and asked for an ID before handing my niece to me. When I showed her the documents she had verified and asked me for a password and then got to get my niece. When she came out with her
my niece, my niece had lots of painting, craft activities and had so much to tell about her day. I was so pleased and want to thank the nursery staff for making sure that children are having some routine and stability in this difficult time. I wish all the success and congratulate each and every staff member for this.

My daughter has left for school now and I cannot thank the nursery enough for all their hard work with school readiness and supporting me through my own anxiety about my child starting a new school! My daughter attended from the age of 5 months and has experienced so much true care and love from all
her key workers as well as staff throughout each room she's been in. The manager is absolutely amazing and has always been extremely approachable and available whenever I have needed support. Thank you everyone at Bright Horizons, I don't think you get recognised for the true hard work you and the team put in everyday to ensure our children have a lovely experience each and everyday in your care!

My child is very happy at the nursery and receives very good care from individual teachers with a great variety of activities. However, there is not enough staff in the room, particularly at drop off and pick up times. This has been the case for a very long time. Bright Horizons needs to invest more
in staff and provide adequate staff/children ratio. This is the main reason for my low score for safeguarding and value for money. The nursery is not cheap and parents should be getting the required number of teachers in each room.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.286)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.286) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.694 for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.694
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.592 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Carshalton Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.692
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
