Acorn Day Nursery (Westcroft)

Great nursery - since my children have joined the staff have helped to settle them with ease. They work hard to develop the children through different daily provisions. They promote plenty of outside play as well as weekly forest school activities, yoga and ad hoc trips to productions. Daily photos and frequent observations are made, helping to connect their nursery experience with home life. Stay and play sessions allow us to see firsthand how much fun they have!

Our experience and daughters have been nothing but brilliant! I must say the staff are so polite and care for the children's welfare. The environment is so clean and I cannot praise everyone enough for what they are doing at Acorn Nursery.

Our little girl has been at Acorns since the age of 1. Staff have been amazing from the start and always give great care. They are warm and help the children settle to feel safe and secure in their space. We get regular feedback from key staff on our little girl’s development and the photos they share each day give us a lovely insight into their activities. They have a wide variety of activities and encourage the children in exploring these. We are very pleased we chose acorns and would recommend them to other parents.

My daughter has been in the nursery since the age of 2 and has loved every day. I can't be any more happier with the nursery and everything they do and have done with her. We are so happy we picked Acorn Day Nursery.

Cleanliness is "satisfactory" because on a few occasions, I have noticed the toilets were a little unclean as the day goes and after the children use them. Could be checked more frequently.

The nursery offers so much provision to develop many skills. My daughter loves Forest School days, especially the hot chocolate heated on the fire. The staff are amazing, and everyone knows my child. The food is fantastic, and we love that we can track what she has eaten on the app. They provide many parent and child events to get involved in too. A wonderful nursery!

My child has learnt a lot since he came to Acorn in 2020. He loves going to nursery, especially when it is Forest School day.

My son recently joined Acorn, and he has been provided with excellent care. The nursery staff are always happy, polite and informative on how he is getting on. I really like the app, which also keeps me updated.

Good facilities.

This is an amazing nursery that all three of my children have attended. The management is friendly and very helpful. The key workers plan and prepare fantastic activities that help the children’s learning in a fun and very active way! They have forest school for children in the two older groups which is throughly enjoyed! This is an eco-friendly nursery that used natural materials rather than lots of plastic! Brilliant childcare overall!

My child joined this nursery after his previous nursery closed down. So far he is happy at Acorn and looks excited every morning to go there. At the moment we as parents are happy and satisfied but it's been 2-3 weeks to be 100% confident.

Good resources and activities for children.

My daughter has attended Acorn Westcroft since 10 months old and she's now nearly 3 and a half. This nursery is fantastic, which is entirely due to the staff being fantastic. They're very experienced staff who work well together and communicate well with parents. My child is very well cared for, she learns a lot and has a great time. She has a strong bond with nursery staff and any time I have an issue or query I can raise it easily with them. You can see what they're up to easily through the app and my daughter has become a better eater by sitting down and having a hot meal with other children at lunchtime every day. The food is very good. Forest school for the older ones is a great experience too. I'm very glad I chose this nursery - it'll be sad when she has to leave and start school!

Great nursery, staff are very friendly and welcoming every morning. They provide lots of learning activities both indoors and outdoors. The thing I love the most about Acorn is that they do forest school and that they post daily pictures of what the children in the room have been up to for the day, so I get to see my daughter playing with her friends. My daughter loves coming to nursery, sometimes she complains because she wants to stay longer. She loves the food there too!

Very happy with their service and glad I chose Acorn for her first school experience.
