Acorn at Westcroft is a nursery in the Westcroft retail district, offering a spacious and well-equipped range of rooms for children to play and explore.

There are four small, outdoor play areas and in keeping with Acorn's strong emphasis on outdoor play and learning, the nursery has its own Forest School site at the nearby Howe Park Wood.

The nursery has a full-time cook and all meals and snacks are freshly prepared on site. The experienced and well qualified staff team are very warm and welcoming and look forward to showing prospective parents around the nursery.

The nursery offers Forest School sessions that take place weekly for older children as well as many planned events throughout the year such as; sports days, graduations, messy stay and plays and cultural themed days. The nursery is also passionate about getting involved with the local community, regularly visiting a group of elderly people at the Shenley Parish Council building nearby; hosting visits from the fire brigade, police, dentist and vets and arranging days where parents can get involved in nursery life through reading, cooking, show and tell and joining the nursery for forest school sessions.

A home visit from the nursery manager and your child’s key person is offered to all new families as children benefit from meeting their key person in a familiar environment, before attending the nursery for settling-in sessions.

Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

My child is full-time and loves every day of nursery. Forest school is a great activity and breaks her time up really well. I feel lucky to have chosen a nursery with forest school. She has never had a boring day. Her confidence and language have developed so well under the care of the Acorn team. Thank

All of 4 my grandchildren have been through this nursery and the youngest attends there now.
We have never met such a wonderful bunch of people who are so caring and friendly.
We are always made to feel valued and important.
The nursery itself is laid out well, making good use of the space they have

My daughter started nursery in January 2018 and the friendly and welcoming nature of this nursery made this transition very easy. The staff are all so friendly and warm, my daughter does have her favourites but she speaks fondly of everyone she's encountered there. The admin lady is very knowledgeable
and friendly, and happy to assist with any queries. My daughter is always bringing artwork home, and I can tell she's learning new skills from her pictures. I would recommend this nursery to anyone as I can't fault it.

My child has been attending this nursery since 2016! This nursery is fantastic, I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone who is looking for a nursery for their child as they settle their child in a short time frame. I cannot speak highly enough about this nursery and its staff. Our little boy has attended since he was 10 months old and being our first, we were very apprehensive about other people looking after him.
Since day 1 at Acorn, everybody has helped him grow and become the wonderful happy boy he is today.
