Hopscotch Day Nursery Lee on Solent is a purpose-built facility, with a spacious interior and approach that is child-centred.

Professionals ensure that children enjoy and achieve in all areas of learning. The outdoor environments are welcoming and engaging and offer ample opportunities for children to express their independence and creative skills.

The layout of the nursery allows for total free flow from indoor to outdoor areas with each of the playrooms having direct access to outdoor play areas. This allows the dedicated childcare team to follow and enhance children’s own interests and means that children are engaged in their play and learning.

We have had the most wonderful experience with our daughter starting nursery. Right from the outset, when viewing the nursery, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and it was clear to see the children were happy and the staff were too, which is so important. Our daughter has settled in so well, and
the staff in Babies, and the managers, have all been incredible in their support and reassurance - the transition to starting nursery can be just as difficult for parents! We couldn't be more pleased with our choice.

Such a lovely nursery, all the ladies care so much for each child. My daughter has been at Hopscotch since she was 8 months old and has truly thrived. She was a little apprehensive about starting preschool. But has grown in confidence week on week.

My little girl started toddlers in September 2023, she was a little slow on her speech and was a little nervous trying to make friends and socialise more, she's now in the pre-school room and I am so happy with the progress she has made! She is doing so well and is so happy! Safe to say she talks all
day long and loves all her friends! I can't thank the staff of Lee-on-the-Solent enough! They have gone above and beyond to make my daughter feel like she is important and involved! She absolutely loves school and I wouldn't send her anywhere else! Deserves 10 stars if I could!

My daughter has started nursery here in September and she has made so much progress in such a short space of time, they have taught her great skills like listening ears and kind words. She loves "school" so much the staff and management are so supportive and caring towards our daughter and any parent
that has any issues. The rooms are amazing with so much to do, so clean and inviting. Our daughter loves the food too! And sharing recipes has made snack time at home so much easier. Thank you for being such a great place to send our little girl!

Hopscotch Lee-on-Solent is and continues to be an outstanding setting for my son in all aspects. He absolutely loves attending and the passion all staff have for the care and wellbeing of the children really shines through daily. We always receive a warm welcome at the beginning of the day and a great
handover at the end, not to mention all of the activities in between! Hopscotch has allowed for my son to grow in confidence, try new things and build some really positive relationships in preparation for school and we can’t thank you enough!

This is a real gem of a nursery and my daughter loved her time there. She developed really well and made some great little friends. The staff were always friendly, lovely and took great care of her. Sadly we moved house so we had to cut short her time there. Saying goodbye to the Hopscotch family was

My daughter absolutely loves Hopscotch Day Nursery, and the fantastic team there have been responsible for so much of her development over the last year. She’s regularly amazing us with new things she’s learnt - numbers, colours, letters and songs, and is always so happy when I pick her up at the end
of the day. Special thanks to three staff members in particular who all seem to go above and beyond - they genuinely show an interest in my child and take care in updating me on her day. I never feel rushed out the door, they take the time to properly explain how she got on and keep me updated. Truly appreciate the wonderful work you all do!
Special shout out to to one staff member- as a Dad, I’m a bit hopeless at doing my daughter's hair, so she’ll always be kind enough to tidy up whatever calamity I produce and leave my daughter’s hair looking amazing!

The staff at Hopscotch Day Nursery are so amazing, our daughter loves nursery and I was always so worried about leaving her but I never worry now. She comes out every day beaming and the staff genuinely care, play with the children, engage with them and the food is outstanding! They take them to the
library, the beach, park and make full use of the 3 separate age-appropriate rooms. Thank you all so much! You’re doing an incredible job!

We have 3 grandchildren at Hopscotch down all in different sections. We cannot find fault with anything. Happy welcoming staff, happy children. Can't believe the food that they have. Amazing. Well done Hopscotch.

We just wanted to say a big thank you for taking such good care of our little boy for us. He came in the world after a miscarriage, years of trying, fertility tests, and medication. His birth was fairly traumatic for us and he was rushed off not breathing and blue. I don’t explain any of this as a sob
story (I know now that not every birth and pregnancy is straightforward for anyone) but I just wanted to make the point that after all that I couldn’t imagine leaving him in anyone’s care. It’s a testament to the care and support we’ve been given as a family at Hopscotch that’s given us that confidence to leave him with you knowing he’ll be well looked after and loved.
We know he’s not the centre of everyone’s universe, but he’s very much ours and we have been made to feel like he’s yours too.

My three boys have all attended Hopscotch Lee-on-Solent. I have been very happy with the care that they provide and my boys were always happy going in. They made good friends and enjoyed their time there. It is expensive compared to straight preschools but the food is excellent and very varied and plentiful.
The staff are caring and engage with the children well. Communication with the staff is very good with courtesy calls if necessary and an online learning journal.

My daughter started July 2022 and the year she has been at Hopscotch Day Nursery Lee-on-Solent has been fantastic. She has come on leaps and bounds, her speech is getting better and better, massive thank you to her key worker, the work she has gone I cannot put into words. And a simple thank you is
not enough. Another member of staff in particular also, she fought her corner to get her Education Health and Care plan ready for year R, a simple thank you for the past year that Sophia has been there is not enough, but thank you, a very grateful mummy and daddy.

We can’t thank Hopscotch Day Nursery, and particularly the Under 2’s room enough for the way they have cared for our daughter during our time here. We are so sad to be leaving the area as we have seen how much she has learned and the great bonds she has formed with the staff and other children alike.
The nursery do what they can to support you and your little one’s routine. She has sometimes struggled with saying goodbye to us in the mornings but the staff were always so supportive and caring that we knew she would be smiling within minutes and we then get that reassurance by the open communication and feedback about her day. Her confidence has come on leaps and bounds, as well as her speech and language. She absolutely loves the trips out to the library for rhyme time and gets plenty of opportunities to do messy or imaginative play for which we personally sometimes struggle to think of and do at home. We can’t thank them enough and we will really miss seeing her continue to grow there.

After an 11 year wait for a daughter I was apprehensive, if not insistent that nobody would be able to offer the level of care, support and well-being for my daughter to the high standards that I would expect. However, the past 6 months of her attending Lee on Solent Hopscotch Day Nursery has proven
me wrong. The care and compassion the waddlers team and especially her key worker have provided has been exceptional. As a busy working parent it is natural to be concerned about missing out on key milestones or events but Hopscotch go the extra mile to bridge that gap through detailed and concise handovers and most importantly open and honest conversations, as well as reporting via online care diaries and regular photos. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, it's clear that it's not a standard nursery thrown together for profit but that your child is treated like family and as such I can't recommend them highly enough for any other prospective parents.

Hopscotch Day Nursery Lee-on-Solent is a fantastic nursery! Our daughter started at 10 months old during the first lockdown which as you can imagine was a very strange time to return to work and leave your baby with people for the first time due to lockdown. Hopscotch dealt with this fantastically!
She had to start at a different setting but was assigned a keyworker from Lee on Solent to aid the transition back to Lee on Solent again. She is now in pre-school and has thrived during her time at Hopscotch! The staff are very friendly, caring and ensure you are kept up to date and that any concerns are raised. My daughter loves the staff there, the other children and the lovely activities they organise. I would highly recommend this nursery!

Sophie

Sophie Connell

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2007

I joined Hopscotch in 2007 while studying at college. I very quickly found my own beliefs fell in line with Hopscotch’s ethos and began my journey as a Nursery practitioner in our Titchfield setting. After some time away travelling, I came back to Hopscotch. For 5 years I was based at our biggest setting in Botley as the Deputy Manager and gained my Level 5 in Leadership and Management in the Early Years.


I work closely alongside my Deputy Managers, Aimee Lewis and Maddie Stevens, together we share the same goals of delivering the highest quality of childcare. We know how important it is to feel completely comfortable leaving your child on the first day and my team and I will work closely with you to help that first day back at work run as smoothly as possible! Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2016

Hi, my name is Ami and I started my Hopscotch journey in 2016 as Deputy Manager then Manager at our Gosport setting. I will be covering our Manager Sophie while she is on maternity leave. I have been supporting and developing our Under 2’s staff and areas. Together with our wonderful staff team, we can ensure that we offer the highest quality of care here at the nursery and that children are reaching all those important milestones. Watching them leave here as confident and independent children ready for school!

Hi, I'm Maddie and I am one of the Deputy Managers at Lee on the Solent, I started with the company in 2013 and I am currently our Over 2’s champion. With our wonderful staff team, we can ensure that we offer the highest quality of care here at the nursery and that children are reaching all those important milestones. Watching them leave here as confident and independent children ready for school!
