Bright Horizons Southgate Day Nursery and Preschool

Our daughter really enjoys going to this nursery. There is a good structure, and the team in place to ensure a smooth transition from the baby room to the preschool. Big thanks go to the manager and her team for all the hard work they put into preparing children for school at this time. We are confident our daughter is in safe hands. The nursery has gone to great measures especially through a difficult year to be kind and understanding. The staff are amazing and always welcoming and considerate. The facilities and activities always provide a challenge and keep our daughter engaged and full of enjoyment. Highly recommend this nursery.

My child is extremely happy at nursery and adores her teachers who take a genuine interest in her wellbeing. They are warm, friendly and fair. She enjoys being at nursery and is learning from the wide range of activities that they engage in. I receive a form at the end of each day that summarises the day and the staff are very open and willing to discuss any concerns. The team are extremely professional and always come back to any queries in a timely manner. They genuinely care about the children.

My two children attend this nursery and absolutely love it. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and form great connections with the children. We have felt very supported during 2020 with the COVID pandemic and measures in place to ensure the safety of our children. In normal times there were many extracurricular sessions included in the price such as ballet, Spanish, yoga and zumba, which my daughter enjoyed. I am always kept well informed if there is ever a problem, accident or my child is unwell. My children have settled well and enjoy their days at nursery thoroughly.

Our daughter really enjoys coming to this nursery. There is a good structure, and the team in place to ensure a smooth transition from the baby room to the toddler room. I was more apprehensive than I ought to have been as I’ve not seen a difference in my child’s attitude towards the nursery. They offer fun activities, outside play, creative learning, and she eats well at the nursery who offer her a variety of food.

My son has been at this nursery since he was 10-months-old and sending him here has been the best decision I ever made! The staff at every level have been fantastic, and the management has always been caring, professional and always there to answer any questions and have gone above and beyond to help me. My son is excited to go every morning and comes home every evening telling me about all the things he has done that day. He has progressed so well in relation to learning numbers and letters and also in relation to socialising and expressing himself. I can't recommend this nursery highly enough... it is worth every penny!

Absolutely delighted with the level of care for our child, who has started walking after a couple of months at nursery. The staff are incredible and we are forever grateful for their support and encouragement. Could not recommend this enough.

Very friendly and responsive team both management and carers. My son seems to be very happy going to the nursery which is the most important for me. For things that could improve are; the variety of food as it never changed, it could be good to make changes to expose children to different flavour activities as the sensory room not in use and didn't see much solid activity plan for the children as it was just random playing. Development plan - never had a conversation on this. I would like my child to develop skills and how nursery approaches it. Also would like to know how nursery record amends child progress and give feedback to parents.

We love the nursery. The staff are always welcoming and accommodating. It has been a pleasure to see my daughter happily go into nursery. She was sad to leave for school but has been well prepared for her time in reception.

Very good nursery, opened during Covid19 to save my working from home days! Warm teachers give us a welcome every morning. My boy loves this nursery. Good job!

We asked the Southgate Nursery to take our daughter on a temporary basis until her usual nursery would open. We received EXCEPTIONAL support in all aspects of our daughter's time there. She absolutely loved it! Staff were careful, took health and safety very seriously, very very attentive to our requests, a very good experience. It's a pity it is too far away from us!

My daughter attends Bright Horizons, Southgate. She is a very happy little girl and enjoys coming to nursery daily and even gets upset if I pick her up early. She has attended this nursery since she was 9 months old and is now in preschool. The transitions to each room have been so smooth and she has enjoyed her time in each room. My daughter has a great bond with the staff in her room and also has a great bond with the management team. She gets greeted daily with positive energy, big smiles and such a friendly vibe as soon as you walk through the door. She enjoys the extracurricular sessions yoga, zumba and Spanish. Also, she really enjoys doing sports with the sports coach and has a great bond with her. The nursery has recently had a refurbishment which looks great and is also very clean and well kept. I love that there are separate gardens for the babies, toddlers and over 2's. The sensory room is also a great calming place to play for all the children.

Being a first-time mum I was very nervous about picking the right nursery for my daughter. It was hard enough that I had to go back to work but to leave her with strangers was very scary. It turns out I had nothing to worry about! Everyone at the nursery has been great. My daughter can’t wait to get dropped off in the mornings and she settled in so well. Her keyworker has such a calm and gentle nature and gives her lots of attention (which she craves). She has developed so much in so many ways thanks to the nursery and their care and attention to each individual child. She has now moved into toddlers, which is a really exciting milestone - I love that I can see what she has been up to each day by looking at the app. I can see what she’s eaten, how much she’s slept and what she has been getting up to in the day - it makes me feel a part of it and I look forward to seeing pictures of her smiling. It’s great to see her so happy, at the end of the day what more could a parent ask for?

My granddaughter settled really quickly this was partly due to the care and attention and commitment of the staff in the baby room. She has now successfully and happily graduated to the toddler room.

Having visited several nurseries, choosing this nursery was a no brainer. Although it is a little further from home, my husband and I felt completely reassured to leave our 11-month baby girl in their care. On our first settling in day they welcomed us by name, introduced us to the team and their robust system of care management is solid and as a result staff morale is high. It was so comforting to see the same familiar faces who got to know my baby so well so quickly. We were blown away by their recording system which shares every detail of our babys day including photos and videos with us real-time which is unique. We were also so impressed by the creative activities our baby did which we took home with us. She settled in so quickly and loves going to nursery. Thank you Southgate team for doing a brilliant job.

The location was the main reason why we selected this nursery. It was kind of difficult to communicate with the staff as there are often changes. I didn't have any contact with my son's main carer during his last days at the nursery so that was a little bit sad.

Staff are amazing and very kind and considerate. They put the children first. I would highly recommend this nursery.

The staff are welcoming and appear to take a genuine interest in my child. I am glad I chose this nursery as the conditions my child spends his day in gives me peace of mind. The staff play, cuddle and bond with him and keep him clean. He is also learning from the school, like identifying objects and body parts, saying thank you etc. I have learnt a lot from the staff about how to care for a baby.

My child has been at this nursery for 7 months now. She has really developed in this time and I can see she comes home and praises what she has learnt at nursery. She enjoys nursery and loves the adults and the children. We are happy with the learning and the care at the nursery.
