Bright Horizons Southgate Day Nursery and Preschool

My second child is currently at the nursery. My first was there for three years and I can't recommend it highly enough. Yes, it is not the cheapest, but when you consider how much they support early years development, it is great value for money. I also love the staff there and completely trust them with my children.

My daughter started at Bright Horizons, Southgate, when she was 3 months old, gradually moving to full-time. She was there for four years and seven months and Bright Horizons, Southgate has become part of our life since. The nursery is very well managed with happy, yet disciplined staff. The management were extremely accommodating with our requirement, especially at the beginning as I had to go back straight to work. Can't imagine coping with work/baby, though with family's help during the sleepless nights without Bright Horizons, Southgate's care and support. My daughter's time there has been smooth sailing with any issues being addressed accordingly. My daughter left as a confident young lady who can read independently, write and paint well and socially adequate. Couldn't have achieved all these without Bright Horizons, Southgate.

Our experience at Bright Horizons, Southgate, has been consistently excellent. Our daughter has attended from 14 months old and has flourished in each age setting. Her time in preschool has been particularly good. The staff particularly her key worker, take excellent care of her and we have watched her confidence grow and her relationships with peers and teachers flourish. We could not be happier with all aspects of the setting. The management and all staff have been fantastic.

Very supportive and friendly staff at this nursery who helped our son to settle in and made his experience of nursery a happy and positive one. It was great to see photos on the app of activities he had been engaged in. We are really glad that our son attended this nursery from August 2021 as it has developed his confidence and social interactions with his peers as well as his independence, preparing him well for starting Reception. We would definitely recommend this nursery!

My daughter, (aged 2), has attended Bright Horizons since April 2021. I was very nervous about sending her to nursery as her first year was during the lockdowns! But she settled in within days and we had very reassuring, detailed and regular updates. My daughter has flourished during her time there. She even took her first steps in the toddler's room (her walking was delayed as she is hypermobile and a very cautious little girl). But she clearly feels safe to grow and overcome her fears due to the encouraging and compassionate staff around her. She comes home most nights with the most spectacular artwork! I feel that the nursery is incredibly nurturing and that Layla (and me and my husband) are very much part of the Bright Horizons community! I would definitely recommend it to others without hesitation!

My son has gone to bright Horizons in Southgate for about 4 months now and my husband and I couldn’t be happier with the care he receives. The staff are all so amazing but most importantly so caring towards our son. We receive daily updates and pictures as to what he is doing and they always call us if anything is off with him. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

My son loves coming to nursery. The staff in the room and the manager and deputy manager, are so lovely and welcoming. I always recommend this nursery to everyone. Lots of long-standing staff, who all have a loving nature.

The manager of the nursery is amazing! She always ensures the children are happy and feel safe and each individual child feels cared for. The resources are always on hand for the children to use. They also have an amazing SENCO, who helps the children show their true potential. All the staff are kind and work so hard with the children.

The physical nursery is beautiful, kept extremely clean and offers our child the most fantastic start in life. All of the staff from management to the teachers and chef are amazing! Kind, caring and they hold extremely high standards. We could not be happier. Thank you to all of the team. You are genuinely very special.

Wonderful caring staff. My children are always smiling when they see the staff in the morning. They eat well and sleep well there and engage in so many fun activities. The outside space is a plus too. I love the app which gives me regular updates on my child including sleep times, how much they have eaten, nappy changes and regular photo updates. A great nursery.

Her brother is soon to start at Bright Horizon as well.

Me and my wife are very happy from the time my son started going to the nursery. The staff and the carer's are really friendly and helpful in every aspect. My son keeps talking about his primary carer even after coming home. We have definitely seen improvement regards to his socialising skills after going to nursery since April 2021. He is starting to open up a bit. He has started enjoying the food there now which he didn't in the first 1 month or so. He is definitely expanding his skill set every day. I would highly recommend this nursery to the parents who are on the verge of deciding nurseries. The additional factor that plays here is it's very close to the station so easier to pick up and do the drop if the parent uses underground to commute to work.

It took my son a few months to settle in the nursery. The ladies there were all patient with him. He learnt so much since his return to the nursery in February 2021. He loves eating and I can tell that he loves the meals provided.

The staff are professional and approachable. They go way beyond what is expected and we are fortunate to have had them look after our children.

This is a wonderful nursery with kind and caring staff. Our daughters have been well looked after and have thrived. There is a clearly structured day with lots of opportunities for learning and fun. The staff are kind, always professional and yet know every parent and child by name. We have been very happy with the nursery.

We would definitely recommend the nursery at any time and are happy to keep our daughter here during the Covid-19 period and until she starts school.

Would highly recommend Active learning Southgate to any parents looking for a safe and fun learning place for their Kids.

My son has been attending this nursery since 10 months old and he is now 3 years old. I have nothing but praise for this nursery! The staff are not just friendly, relatable and caring, but the management team here are just second to none! They have dealt with every question, query, request and tantrum (my child not me!) with absolute professionalism, patience and kindness. Most importantly, I have found their understanding, can-do approach and honesty just completely refreshing! It makes such a big difference as a first time mum to know that your child is in complete safe hands - as if they were family. My son is happy arriving and leaving each day. The only minor points I would raise are communication between staff members, management team and parents could be more consistent (especially re learning and at child review stages) and improved. A bit more of a varied meal menu each year to allow more opportunities for the children to try new foods with their peers, would be great too.
