Bright Horizons Southgate Day Nursery and Preschool (formerly Bright Horizons Active Learning Southgate) opened in 2011 and is a stunning purpose-designed facility.

The nursery occupies a fabulous fully refurbished traditional building where great emphasis is placed upon big windows to maximise the feeling of light and space within the building, the aim to bring the outdoors in!

The nursery offers extracurricular Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes, and unusually for a London nursery, it has a large garden at the rear where children can play sports and enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities.

The nursery was proud to be rated 'Good' by Ofsted in August 2022.

My son has gone to bright Horizons in Southgate for about 4 months now and my husband and I couldn’t be happier with the care he receives. The staff are all so amazing but most importantly so caring towards our son. We receive daily updates and pictures as to what he is doing and they always call us
if anything is off with him. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

My son loves coming to nursery. The staff in the room and the manager and deputy manager, are so lovely and welcoming. I always recommend this nursery to everyone. Lots of long-standing staff, who all have a loving nature.

Both my sons have been at the nursery from 1 year old and I have been so happy with the standard of care they have received. The nursery is always clean and the facilities are exemplary.
I feel comfortable when my son is at nursery, as he loves it and he is always busy learning.
The manager of the
nursery is amazing! She always ensures the children are happy and feel safe and each individual child feels cared for. The resources are always on hand for the children to use. They also have an amazing SENCO, who helps the children show their true potential. All the staff are kind and work so hard with the children.

Wonderful caring staff. My children are always smiling when they see the staff in the morning. They eat well and sleep well there and engage in so many fun activities. The outside space is a plus too. I love the app which gives me regular updates on my child including sleep times, how much they have
eaten, nappy changes and regular photo updates. A great nursery.

My daughter has attended Bright Horizon from the age of 10 months and it became her second home. She loved all of the different activities and games and built lovely relationships with the staff members and children in her class.

Me and my wife are very happy from the time my son started going to the nursery. The staff and the carer's are really friendly and helpful in every aspect. My son keeps talking about his primary carer even after coming home. We have definitely seen improvement regards to his socialising skills after
going to nursery since April 2021. He is starting to open up a bit. He has started enjoying the food there now which he didn't in the first 1 month or so. He is definitely expanding his skill set every day. I would highly recommend this nursery to the parents who are on the verge of deciding nurseries. The additional factor that plays here is it's very close to the station so easier to pick up and do the drop if the parent uses underground to commute to work.

It took my son a few months to settle in the nursery. The ladies there were all patient with him. He learnt so much since his return to the nursery in February 2021. He loves eating and I can tell that he loves the meals provided.

Both of our children have attended the nursery and the staff have been outstanding from day 1. We have noticed a remarkable difference from when both kids started in terms of their confidence and social skills. They both have made great progress academically under the nursery’s care.

My little one enjoys nursery so much, he is constantly talking about boogie mites, his teachers and any activities he has taken part in with his friends during the day.
All the staff are amazing and bubbly at Bright Horizons Southgate Day Nursery and very helpful.
The garden area has lots of space
for the little ones to run around and enjoy sports.
I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent, excellent teaching, lovely staff to the most delicious meals at lunch - my little one is a fussy eater and he starts his day with breakfast at nursery and devours his lunch too!
Thanks Southgate you guys are amazing!

My daughter has been at Southgate Bright Horizons for over a year and she absolutely adores her nursery days.
The location and opening times of the nursery are very convenient for commuting parents.
The staff are brilliant and have really helped her development. She eats really well, shares toys
(most of the time anyway) and is confident with social interaction. A lot of this is down to her time at nursery! The staff do amazing activities with the kids like making volcanos, growing plants, and music/dance sessions. My daughter often comes home with new words after a nursery day. At the end of the day, she is always well-fed, sleepy and happy.
Whenever there is a problem the staff call or have a chat at the end of the day. Especially during the pandemic the staff really went above and beyond to make everything safe for the kids.
I have recommended the nursery to friends and will continue to do so.

We've been very happy with having our daughter at the nursery for close to 3 years now. She has always enjoyed coming and has felt safe and secure with the various adults and key workers.
She's always speaking about her friends and teachers from the nursery and is looking forward to coming back on
a Monday and certainly once the various Covid-19 lockdowns have ended.
Since we have a shy child we really appreciate how the staff greet the children in the morning and when they engage with them in general. You get the feeling that they genuinely care for the kids on a personal level and not just in a professional capacity. Also we're super impressed with the fact that the staff seem to know all the parents and can identify which child belongs to whom - even when wearing masks. It's a small thing but adds to the personal feel.
We would definitely recommend the nursery at any time and are happy to keep our daughter here during the Covid-19 period and until she starts school.

I really like the staff and management for being so caring and loving. The lady in the baby room is very sweet and loving to the kids and did develop a great relationship with my little boy. Most of the staff are very caring and supportive especially in admin, they always welcome you with big smiles
and make you feel very relaxed and assuring you that your kids are in safe hands.
Would highly recommend Active learning Southgate to any parents looking for a safe and fun learning place for their Kids.

My son has been attending this nursery since 10 months old and he is now 3 years old. I have nothing but praise for this nursery! The staff are not just friendly, relatable and caring, but the management team here are just second to none! They have dealt with every question, query, request and tantrum
(my child not me!) with absolute professionalism, patience and kindness. Most importantly, I have found their understanding, can-do approach and honesty just completely refreshing! It makes such a big difference as a first time mum to know that your child is in complete safe hands - as if they were family. My son is happy arriving and leaving each day. The only minor points I would raise are communication between staff members, management team and parents could be more consistent (especially re learning and at child review stages) and improved. A bit more of a varied meal menu each year to allow more opportunities for the children to try new foods with their peers, would be great too.

My child is extremely happy at nursery and adores her teachers who take a genuine interest in her wellbeing. They are warm, friendly and fair. My two children attend this nursery and absolutely love it. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and form great connections with the children. We have felt very supported during 2020 with the COVID pandemic and measures in place to ensure the safety of our children. In normal times there were many
extracurricular sessions included in the price such as ballet, Spanish, yoga and zumba, which my daughter enjoyed. I am always kept well informed if there is ever a problem, accident or my child is unwell. My children have settled well and enjoy their days at nursery thoroughly.
