New Foundations Day Nursery (Bexleyheath) has been in operation for over 20 years, first opening its doors in 2003, it is located in a converted Victorian house which has been renovated to meet the needs of caring for young children.

Why choose New Foundations?
- The nursery is small, friendly and goes above and beyond to provide a personal touch. A smaller nursery than most with only 29 children per day, they can cater to every family’s individual needs and create strong, lasting relationships.
- Outside providers are spread across the week so lots of children can benefit from these extra curricular activities. These include Kinder Garden, Phonic Stars, Tiny Tekkers, Mini Wave and Sing and Sign.
- The home from home environment has a higher number of staff than required in order to cater for all individual needs and provide an extra nurturing and caring experience for all children.
- They put a large emphasis on books and stories, with each room focusing on ‘a book of the week’ to encourage children to have a love of books, opening up their imagination and introducing a wide range of vocabulary. There are multiple studies describing the vast benefits of reading stories to children which enhance communication, language and holistic development.
- There is a large outdoor area for children to play and explore.

I picked New Foundations for my son because it is smaller than most nurseries - only 9 or 10 children in each age group (babies/toddlers/preschoolers) and it had a family feel. This was such a good decision because the nursery has been amazing with him! All the staff are kind and caring, no one just
going through the motions like the vibe I got from some other nurseries we visited. There are no nasty extra costs (some other nurseries we looked at said things like 'your child can only attend x classes if you pay £ a week') but not New Foundations, everything is included here. I feel they really helped my son develop so many skills like confidence and speech, as well as practical things like how to put on a coat and how to feed himself. He has attended for nearly 2 years and our new baby will be starting next year. Would 100% recommend. All the parents I have spoken to are really happy with New Foundations. Lovely home-cooked meals and they will cater for special dietary needs.

My youngest daughter is in the pre-school room, and it’s the last six months of being with the nursery; before she goes to school. Both of my daughters attended the nursery and have seen them grow in all three rooms. They have enjoyed every aspect the nursery has offered and have flourished as children.
From day one, they have both enjoyed and looked forward to attending; especially as they get to do a range of activities provided by the nursery staff as well as from outside providers.
All the staff are welcoming, caring, knowledgeable and encouraging, who go over and above for children in their care.
The nursery has helped to nurture my daughters and feed their inquisitive minds; while preparing them for school and life in general.

New Foundations is an amazing nursery that caters for all parental needs and more importantly those of the children.
The baby room is especially amazing as they provide outstanding care for my son and are always on the ball keeping track of his progress.
Staff are always extremely helpful and ready
to answer any questions you may have. The room leader of the baby room is especially amazing and is very approachable should you have any queries.
I would 100% recommended this nursery to anyone looking for the best care for their little one. 10/10, amazing!

My granddaughter absolutely loves it here. Whenever I turn up she is having a great time. The staff are amazing and take incredibly good care of her.
Sunflower room staff really care about the kids and always have something positive to say. I wish she could go there 5 days a week, hopefully, she
can soon.

They have external football, dance and Spanish teachers coming in each week. They home cook healthy food. Their staff are kind, warm and the setting is homely. They have a lovely garden and my son has been so happy the whole time he has been there. From baby room to preschool he has been excited to
go in every day.

Two-year-old daughter attends twice a week and she loves it! All the staff seem to know her and she appears to have good relationships with the staff in her room.

Our daughter has been attending NFDN in the baby room for almost 6 months, and we couldn't be happier. It is hard to leave any child in the hands of someone else, but it makes it so much easier to know that she loves going. She happily waves us off each morning which is the best sign that the nursery
provides a safe and nurturing place for her - one that is homely, fun and educational. They helped her settle very quickly - I found it more difficult to adjust than my daughter did! She has great affection for the staff and will often mention the names of individual staff members when we are at home. The nursery staff are all very committed, caring, and seem to have a genuine interest in the individual personalities of the children and watching them develop. In terms of management, everyone is extremely approachable, flexible and communication is excellent. Thanks to the whole team for all the care and attention you give - you play a huge part in helping them to grow into little people!

My son has already spent nearly 3 years in this nursery, all staffs are very friendly and professional. Lots of different activities all year round and my son loves to take his nursery work home to show everyone. Fees are more reasonable than few nurseries nearby.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for almost two years and we love it! It has a family and community feel to it. All of the staff know my daughter and she has built great relationships with the carers in both the baby and toddler room.


The nursery makes a great effort to do different

types of play and learning activities. My daughter comes home happy, well cared for and well fed each day.


We will be sending our second child there later this year and would highly recommend it.

Both of my Daughters have attended New Foundations over the past 7 years and my youngest still attends. I can't thank the nursery enough for the care and support they have given my Daughters. They have given them the confidence and love of learning ahead of starting school. Would highly recommend this

Both my boys have attended New Foundations Day Nursery (Bexleyheath), my youngest is still there and I couldn't be happier with the care they receive. All the staff are super friendly and really 'know' the children, the food must be good given my son had 2 helpings every day, and on non-nursery days
he asks to go there so they must be doing something right!

My son loves going to new foundations nursery as did my daughter before him. We have been coming to the nursery for 8 years.


My son has some lovely friends and he also loves the staff. He enjoys all the activities especially Spanish!


The nursery always makes sure that an individual child’s

needs are met and works with parents to make sure this is done.


I cannot recommend the nursery highly enough!

My son has been attending New Foundations Day Nursery (Bexleyheath) for over two years. He has progressed from baby room to toddler room to preschool. He has loved all staff members and each room differently. I can’t fault any staff member and have always been happy to leave him in their care. They
have helped him to become the confident, independent boy he is today and he has another 18 months to go! He loves taking part in all activities especially learning Spanish and taking part in Tiny Tekkers. I highly recommend this Nursery.

Becky has worked for the company since the first day it opened its doors! Becky started out as an Apprentice and has worked in all the different roles in the business. Becky now works across both the nurseries overseeing the Management teams, monitoring quality and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Sarah Pinedo

Job Title: Nursery Manager - Job share Joined: 2004

Sarah has worked for the company for over 18 years, starting as an Apprentice and working her way up. Sarah worked as the Deputy Manager at this nursery for 3 years before starting her role as Nursery Manager over 4 years ago. Sarah has a wealth of knowledge to bring, Sarah is the organised one and ensures every job gets done thoroughly and to a high standard.
Sarah's 2 sons came to the nursery before starting school so she knows just what it is like to be a parent trusting others with your precious children.

Charlotte

Charlotte Butler

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2020

Charlotte started at New Foundations in 2011 and completed her Apprenticeship with us to gain her qualifications, she worked here until 2016 and rejoined us in 2020. She has worked in all rooms and has a great knowledge of child development across all ages.


Charlotte is a fantastic Deputy Manager, she shares the core values and ethos of the nursery and is passionate about providing high-quality care to all of our families. She brings fun, laughter and joy to all at our nursery.
Both of Charlottes children have attended the nursery and 1 still does so she sees the nursery from a parents perspective as well as staff.

Lucinda

Lucinda Caesar

Job Title: Deputy Manager and SENCO Joined: 2024

Lucinda started at New Foundations in 2015 and worked at our previous nursery in Sidcup, until it closed in 2018. She returned to our team in 2024, after gaining experience in schools and working with children with Special Educational Needs.


Lucinda has made a big impact already on the children with SEN and in the education delivered within the nursery. She is passionate about child development and reflects this in her practice.
