New Foundations Day Nursery (Bexleyheath) has been in operation for over 20 years, first opening its doors in 2003, it is located in a converted Victorian house which has been renovated to meet the needs of caring for young children.

Why choose New Foundations?
- The nursery is small, friendly and goes above and beyond to provide a personal touch. A smaller nursery than most with only 29 children per day, they can cater to every family’s individual needs and create strong, lasting relationships.
- Outside providers are spread across the week so lots of children can benefit from these extra curricular activities. These include Kinder Garden, Phonic Stars, Tiny Tekkers, Mini Wave and Sing and Sign.
- The home from home environment has a higher number of staff than required in order to cater for all individual needs and provide an extra nurturing and caring experience for all children.
- They put a large emphasis on books and stories, with each room focusing on ‘a book of the week’ to encourage children to have a love of books, opening up their imagination and introducing a wide range of vocabulary. There are multiple studies describing the vast benefits of reading stories to children which enhance communication, language and holistic development.
- There is a large outdoor area for children to play and explore.

The nursery provides children with a welcoming and friendly home-from-home environment and has a team of highly qualified and enthusiastic staff who have a genuine interest in supporting children to learn and achieve.

My daughter has learnt an awful lot since starting at the nursery and looks forward to going every week.
The staff are all friendly and helpful and responses to emails are very prompt.
Very pleased with all aspects of the nursery and I'm very glad I decided to send my daughter there.

My daughter has only just started at the nursery, but I couldn't be happier with the warmth and friendliness shown by all the staff.
It is hard for me to leave my daughter, but they have made it so much easier. I know she is in good hands there.
I was really happy with the amount of settling in sessions
my daughter was offered. These were at different times of the day so she could get used to experiencing different activities.
I have nothing but praise for the nursery and the staff.

New Foundations Day Nursery, Bexleyheath is a wonderful nursery.
My youngest daughter currently attends the Pre-School and she thoroughly enjoys her time there, and I must say she is learning absolutely loads including phonics and Spanish, she is only 3.
My eldest daughter also attended NFDN from
2010, until she started reception at infant school.
I would highly recommend NFDN Bexleyheath to any parent who needs daycare.
The staff are amazing and will go out of their way to make sure that your child has the best care possible.

They really look after my son, he loves going and has made many friends, he started full time at 6 months and has really developed with the support of the nursery nurses.
I have never had any issues. They cater for his dietary requirements and have fully supported the challenges I have had with special
milk and eating.

I'm very happy with the nursery, my son settled in quickly in the baby room and is very happy during drop off's and pick up's.
They took fantastic care of him when he fell ill once, so I'm confident he's in good hands. He has grown independent and confident in the time he has spent in the nursery.
He has made good friends and loves the members of staff who are very affectionate and caring.

My daughter started New Foundations Day Nursery in Bluebell Room (babies) and progressed through Sunflower Room (toddlers) to preschool.
It has felt like a second home for so long, we will both miss attending terribly once school starts this September.
The care and nurturing environment at NFDN
has given my daughter an excellent start to her learning journey.
She has been encouraged and praised at each stage, to enable her to develop into the kind, caring, bright, confident and funny little girl she is today. She is more than well equipped to start the next stage of her development and learning at school. I have no doubt that the care, understanding and commitment of staff at NFDN contributed greatly.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend NFDN to any parent, it is a fantastic nursery with enthusiastic and caring staff who are dedicated to ensuring the nursery is a positive environment for each child and one where they are encouraged to reach their full potential.

Since joining the nursery my daughter has learnt many new skills, numbers, letters, colours etc.
She is allergic to gluten, the staff have gone above and beyond to cater for my daughter and make her feel like she's having a special meal, she actually is happier that she gets her special food! I have
no faults with the nursery, it feels safe and I'm more than happy to leave my daughter here, she never cries and I always collect a happy child who tells me about all the fun and learning she did at "school". When she was toilet training they even helped with that. Any issues that I've needed help with have been met with kindness and understanding, currently my daughter is in the preschool and learning Spanish!
I believe this to be one of the best nurseries in the area and would 100% recommend this nursery to parents looking at nursery there open most of the year even when schools have there breaks and shut at 6pm at night!

New Foundations Day Nursery (Bexleyheath) provides a lovely setting for children of early years ages to start their education, my little boy looks forward to meeting his friends and staff each week. There are plenty of friendly experienced staff on hand and they always seem to be doing something new
with the kids which really expands their minds and when the weather allows they are encouraged to go outside and play. The kids are given a lot of freedom to express themselves and there are adequate controls in place to ensure they learn some discipline too. The food is of a good quality and the menu varied my little boy even eats the fish pie which I didn't think he would!


This is a fun safe nursery where you can leave you child in the confidence they will be well looked after.

My son has been attending the nursery since October 2015, he loves and and so do I. They are always happy to answer any questions I have about his development or about how his day has been. I recently attended a parents evening which I think is a fantastic idea, I had time to look at all of his observations
and speak with his key worker.

Becky has worked for the company since the first day it opened its doors! Becky started out as an Apprentice and has worked in all the different roles in the business. Becky now works across both the nurseries overseeing the Management teams, monitoring quality and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Sarah has worked for the company for over 18 years, starting as an Apprentice and working her way up. Sarah worked as the Deputy Manager at this nursery for 3 years before starting her role as Nursery Manager over 4 years ago. Sarah has a wealth of knowledge to bring, Sarah is the organised one and ensures every job gets done thoroughly and to a high standard.
Sarah's 2 sons came to the nursery before starting school so she knows just what it is like to be a parent trusting others with your precious children.

Charlotte

Charlotte Butler

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2020

Charlotte started at New Foundations in 2011 and completed her Apprenticeship with us to gain her qualifications, she worked here until 2016 and rejoined us in 2020. She has worked in all rooms and has a great knowledge of child development across all ages.


Charlotte is a fantastic Deputy Manager, she shares the core values and ethos of the nursery and is passionate about providing high-quality care to all of our families. She brings fun, laughter and joy to all at our nursery.
Both of Charlottes children have attended the nursery and 1 still does so she sees the nursery from a parents perspective as well as staff.

Lucinda

Lucinda Caesar

Job Title: Deputy Manager and SENCO Joined: 2024

Lucinda started at New Foundations in 2015 and worked at our previous nursery in Sidcup, until it closed in 2018. She returned to our team in 2024, after gaining experience in schools and working with children with Special Educational Needs.


Lucinda has made a big impact already on the children with SEN and in the education delivered within the nursery. She is passionate about child development and reflects this in her practice.
