First Steps Day Nursery provides quality and inspirational learning for children up to eleven years old.

It provides a nurturing and caring environment where everyone feels welcome and valued in their own right.

It has established an enviable reputation for delivering a high-quality childcare service and this is recognised by both parents and Ofsted.

The children are cared for in a stimulating environment where each child can reach their full potential. Children are actively encouraged to explore, learn, communicate and interact with one another.

First Steps are very proud of their staff who you will find are enthusiastic, dedicated and highly qualified and this is what makes the nursery so special. The nursery has 100% of staff with a Paediatric First Aid certificate.

There are extensive separate gardens where babies and children can explore and feel safe, but most of all have fun.

The staff are very welcoming to my whole family, not just my child. It is, in my opinion as a child care provider myself, a very well run nursery, with a varied menu, enjoyable activities and a caring management. My child's needs are met with a very positive approach, if issues are raised, they are
sorted. Observations are frequently done and shared with parents.

Through difficult circumstances a nursery place was sought and required ASAP. The management are understanding and accommodating, they offered reassurance and comfort to child and parents. Child’s development has come on in leaps and bounds and this is in no doubt down to the passion and dedication
of the staff. The environment is always clean and welcoming. No two days are the same for the children
This is definitely value for money.

The staff at First Steps Nursery are absolutely fantastic. My little boy seems so happy and really enjoys being there. The staff have really helped him to come along so much in such a short space of time and I feel they are so caring towards the children. I am also impressed with all of the different
activities they do with the children and how they have got my little boy involved and enjoying taking part in them, as that has often been something that he has struggled with. A wonderful nursery with wonderful staff.

Lovely nursery. The girls in my nephew's room I can't fault. They are welcoming, upbeat and happy. As I walk to my nephew's room I go past the kitchen and the lunches smell delicious, and the cook always says good morning with a smile and is always happy. The activities I see in my nephew's room are
outstanding and it clearly shows as he has come on leaps and bounds since starting. 10 out of 10.

Very happy with the nursery. My nephew has settled in well, he's always happy when I drop him off. The safeguarding at this nursery is amazing as well. The staff all introduce themselves if I don't know them.

Over the past few months, my child's development has come on so much. The new management team are amazing they have taken the time to know me and all my children not just the one that attends the nursery. They have helped me with a few concerns I have had with my child's development and have given me
great ideas on how to help her progress further. I will always tell everyone to take their child to First Steps. The new outside area is looking good. When I collect my child she never wants to come home.

Since the new management team have taken over in March, you can see the positive changes that have taken place. Staff are happy, motivated and welcoming at all times. The environment is stimulating and educational. All meals are healthy and the nursery has the golden apple award, which I think is important.
Both the manager and deputy are always there to talk to if needed. The nursery keeps you up to date through email on upcoming events and celebrations. The administrator is very helpful.

I would highly recommend this nursery to any parents looking for somewhere to send their child. The staff are lovely and the nursery is always clean and tidy. My little girl loves it and I wouldn’t send her anywhere else.

It clearly shows the love, attention and care that all staff put into each individual child as I have never seen a child come in upset.
When I drop my grandson off someone will always personally greet us and ask how we both are. Their safeguarding is robust. They ask you to sign children in and out,
and always ensure that passwords are given correctly before you are let into the building.
Thank you, First Steps for giving my grandson a good start in life.

My children love going to the holiday club. They do a variety of activities and outings. The meals are always of a good quality, healthy and of variety. The staff are always welcoming and have good relationships with both my children and both my children feel confident and comfortable with all the staff.

The girls in hedgehogs are fabulous with my daughter. She is always so happy when I pick her up and is always included with the other kids. I love that we get regular updates on the app and can see what progress my daughter makes.

We chose First Steps after looking at several other nurseries and haven't been disappointed.


Our little boy has started in the youngest group (Cubs) and is soon moving to the next group (Hedgehogs). The staff have been preparing him by gradually increasing his time in Hedgehogs and he's already

happy to go to staff Cubs and Hedgehogs now.


The staff are very nurturing and put on themed play activities that they learn from. The staff encourage social eating where the children (even in Cubs) sit together at a tiny table and eat together (obviously with help from staff).


You can see how your little one is getting on throughout the day by logging onto the Parent Zone to see what they have eaten, nappy changes and even occasional pictures too which is nice. If there are ever any concerns about your little one the nursery call to let you know and discuss it with you.


But most importantly our little boy is happy here and we feel he is cared for. We would highly recommend First Steps.

I am impressed with the nursery, had a few concerns and when I spoke to management this has been dealt with straight away and I have been reassured. My child loves nursery and it has helped him develop loads. The food they serve is always healthy and a great variety. I really like the staff, they are
always happy and chatty. Policies are followed by staff and this is shown throughout the nursery from the staff's knowledge and through displays.
