Bright Horizons Dorking Day Nursery and preschool is conveniently located close to Dorking train station and provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

With a large garden and in walking distance to a park, the children can take advantage of a variety of resources at the nursery, including an Art Studio and a sensory room for the younger children. The nursery also offers swimming lessons for the preschool children.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough! My daughter loves her days here and I know she is being left in safe hands. All the staff I have spoken to are very welcoming and friendly. All of this has made my return to work so much easier, knowing my daughter is well cared for and enjoying her time at nursery.

I am very happy with my daughter's care at Bright Horizons Dorking. They offer excellent opening times. The staff are attentive and hard working. They treat each child as an individual. There are always lots of stimulating activities. At the end of the day we get a thorough handover so I know they have
been attentive to her needs. I feel I can trust the staff so I know she is safe and well cared for.

My 11-month-old daughter attends Dorking Active Learning nursery full time and she is very happy there. The management and baby room staff are very supportive, enthusiastic about the activities and passionate individuals. My son has been attending the nursery for 21 months. He was welcomed into Jumblies at 18 months and settled in very nicely. The girls made me feel very happy leaving my son in their capable hands for a few days in the week. He has been taught and learnt so much, he is now in Preschool and now learning
to write, with the encouragement of management and the rest of the team. I can highly recommend the nursery to all friends and family. I have never had any doubts. Thank you, ladies!

My little girl loves her time at Active Learning Dorking (Surrey). The staff form wonderful relationships with the children and play a pivotal role in their early development. They also show incredible empathy and consideration towards what might be happening at home. Whenever we have needed extra

We viewed a number of nurseries before visiting Active Learning Dorking (Surrey) and none of the other places made me feel confident that my daughter would be properly cared for and noticed. It was imperative that the nursery could look after babies as I was required to go back to work after 7 months.
Active Learning Dorking (Surrey) was so receptive to our needs, the nursery management was engaging and thorough in providing all the information and showing us around. We were very impressed!
The staff are lovely, the activities are stimulating, fun and age-appropriate across the board. The facilities are impressive too. What we really love is that my daughter's personality is encouraged to shine through.

Active Learning is a lovely, clean, safe and welcoming environment for little ones. My daughter attends two days a week and has a fantastic time. I love reading about all the activities she has been involved in throughout her day. The staff are kind and patient and bring out the best in her.

My son attends Active Learning Dorking twice a week and he is really happy there. I'm always pleased to hear about the number of activities he has been involved in during the day and he is growing in confidence all the time. The staff are lovely and really care about the children they look after. I

My son attends on a full-time basis and we can't thank the nursery staff enough for all that they have done for my son, and continue to do so every day. We have experience with two other nurseries in the Surrey area and can honestly say Active Learning Dorking is high above the rest and we would highly
recommend it to friends and family. The staff are great and are always very approachable. The manager is the best and her deputy is always there to help. My son enjoys swimming, ballet and French lessons. More recently he has been enjoying cooking in the newly installed kitchen and the strong emphasis on Art at Active Learning Dorking is the one thing my son extremely enjoys. The nursery has been recently refurbished to a very high standard and the outdoor area is great for my son to burn off his bags of energy.

We chose Active Learning Dorking because of the space, variety of activities, the caring and friendly staff and the passion for keeping children safe. At our show around it seemed we would have no issues with our son settling in as he just wanted to play in every room. But then during the first week
of him starting he had a cold and teething combined. All of the staff were fantastic with him! Now he loves going to nursery! He's made loads of friends and built fantastic relationships with all of the nursery. Couldn't be happier with the decision to go to this nursery and his transition.

I chose this nursery because the facilities are fantastic (baby sensory room, performance zone, food cooked on site, art zone, sectioned outdoor space), the activities are creative and often child stimulated, and the staff have great relations with the kids. My son has settled in brilliantly, due in
no small part to the very caring approach of the staff. In particular, every member of the team (including managers) can tell me in detail how his day has been and can answer any query. I've found any incidents are also handled extremely professionally. It is a delight to leave my son there every day.

My daughter started nursery in September and was a little unsettled in the beginning. The staff were very supportive through this time and before long she was telling me all about the activities she had been up to including sports, art and French!
Now she asks me every morning if its nursery day,
and is very settled and made lots of new friends and learnt lots of new things! I am very happy with the care and support of the nursery.

My daughter has been attending Active Learning Dorking for just over a month now and I am delighted with the nursery and how the staff care for her. She is my second child and my son also went to the same nursery (from the age of 1 all the way through to pre-school), and because of the relationships
we had forged over the years and the service we received I was very confident about sending my daughter there. The staff are hugely caring, positive, very friendly and you can really tell that they genuinely love being with the children. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Active Learning Dorking to prospective parents.

They have created excellent learning links between nursery and home. In particular, the art drop-in session for parents to enjoy with their children is fantastic. The art teacher is often creating art materials and resources for us to take home and do together. We are incredibly impressed with the extra
touches like this. The nursery strives to provide the best learning environment above and beyond what other nurseries do. My sons love regularly going swimming with pre-school - an opportunity which most nurseries don’t seem to provide. They are generous not only with the range of activities they organise but with their time and care. Staff are extremely friendly, organised and of a high standard. Active Learning Dorking keeps exceeding our expectations and we’re incredibly happy.

A caring and stimulating environment for my 2.5-year-old. The staff always make sure he's happy and he has settled in well in the first couple of months. He comes home full of beans and excited to tell me what he's been up to and the activities like ballet and specialised art are a definite selling
point.

My son has been at Active Learning Dorking (Surrey) since just turning 1 and he is now 3 yrs old.


Every time he has moved up a class I have always been told how well he has settled in and this is mostly thanks to the staff being so welcoming. Every morning staff say hello to him in passing and

some of these I know were not in certain rooms when he was there, it is such a lovely welcoming place. Often he asks if members of staff can come and play at our house. He comes home every day full of stories of what he has been up to and often with sculptures and drawings he has made in art. There is always so much going on at the nursery to get involved with and weekly newsletters keeping everyone informed.

Our little one has been attending active learning since January 2017 when he was 3 months old. He is now part of the furniture! He loves the nursery and all the staff and activities. Since gaining my NNEB qualification in 1995 I began my career in Childcare, and have worked within Bright Horizons since 2003 where I have worked in various settings across the regions, starting as a Nursery Nurse and working up to my current role as Nursery Manager since 2013.


I enjoy all aspects of my role and work alongside my team to provide the children in our care with the best opportunities for learning and play.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Paige has been with Bright Horizons since 2016, during which she completed her Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Learning and Development. Starting as a nursery assistant, she steadily advanced to the position of Deputy Manager. Currently, Paige serves as the nursery’s SENCO (Special Needs Coordinator) and holds a Level 3 Award in Early Years SEN Coordination. At Dorking, the team collaborates to ensure all children under their care receive enriching learning opportunities conducive to their growth and development.


Paige is deeply committed to providing exceptional care and provision to the children, fostering a nurturing, safe, and joyful environment. Witnessing the children's learning, development, and progress within the nursery brings her immense joy and fulfilment.
