The Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery and Preschool is set in a beautifully converted Victorian house with rooms spread over three floors and a log cabin nursery.

Located within the catchment area of many schools which include Roundwood and Woodend school. Providing quality childcare and education, supporting every child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

The well-qualified team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences, within a carefully planned curriculum with Bright Horizons unique Ready for School programme. Fostering an enjoyment of early literacy and maths, with the Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians Enhancement, helping children to recognise letters, words and numbers in their environment.

The nursery features high quality educational resources to suit the age and stage of the children. There are role-play areas in every room to encourage cognitive development, as well as dedicated creative areas.

With all-inclusive fees, which means less to pack on a busy morning, onsite meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. From healthy lunches and snacks to the chosen branded nappies and wipes included in the fees.

My son is very happy at Asquith. He is two and he settles in really well each morning. He has a good relationship with his key worker and the other carers. The staff are all friendly, professional and trustworthy. I feel comfortable that when I drop my son off he is going to be well looked after and
assisted and encouraged with his development. It is lovely to hear at handover each evening the variety of activities he has been doing each day. I am so glad I chose this nursery.

The nursery is excellent. Both my children are very happy here. The staff are engaging and the children full of life and inquisitiveness. It is a safe and caring environment where the children learn a lot through play and creativity. I thoroughly recommend it.

My child loves going to nursery. The staff take very good care of him and there are no issues when I drop him off in a morning. He gets on very well with his key worker. She has a very good relationship with him and I can tell that she cares for him. My child is involved in lots of different and fun
daily activities. The staff take photos which they give to us to take home. It is always nice to see what they have been up to. The menu has lots of variety and includes a good range of vegetables, fruit and healthier desserts. My child eats all of his meals every day. The only downside of the nursery is how expensive it is.

Real care and a nurturing environment provided for our 16month old son. Clear relationships with lovely keyworkers, have helped him enormously grow into this nursery. We have seen great development in all areas. He has matured and developed his happy and social personality. Much care and attention to
dietary requirements. A safe and secure environment. A small matter was dealt with very professionally, with great communication from management through to keyworkers.

As indicated below, the experience that our 2 children have at the nursery, and mine and my wife's experience, is extremely positive in all respects. The staff are extremely competent and helpful and are always positive and professional. Suffice it to say, the children genuinely love to go to the nursery
every day and are extremely attached to the carers and are benefitting in all respects from the facilities provided but above all, from the atmosphere that the staff all create and maintain at the nursery. The attention to detail in order to achieve in all respects the experience of our children is first class. The staff go the extra mile for a real attachment to the children.

My two sons have spent three years at Harpenden Pre-school & Day Nursery and have been extremely happy and have developed really well. My pre-schooler and my baby have been attending for 6 months now and we are very happy with their care. Our baby has been attending since he was 9 months old and he was very happy from the start. He is well looked after and his routine catered for. They do lots of messy play and things you might not
want to do at home. They are warm and genuinely caring.

The staff and carers at this nursery are exceptional. Our son who is now 25 months has been going over one year now and he has received excellent care. We have a wonderful relationship with his key workers, our carers and we feel our son has truly enjoyed coming everyday. The outdoor space is fantastic
and the staff always organise great activities for the children. They also really listen to your wishes as parents and follow them. We have been really happy with the experience so far.

My experience with Harpenden pre school has one that I have felt most rewarding and very much at peace with. Harpenden pre school offers a place where my son felt very comfortable and being shy, they made him feel at ease until he came out of his shell. As a very happy boy they maintained his energy
but also worked really hard to keep him active and stimulated.


The school is very accommodating of allergies and makes sure your child's needs are met with a healthy diet but was extremely impressed by their attention to detail in making sure my son was not exposed to milk.
I would highly recommend it to any parent.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Ellen has been part of the Luton Road family since 2016 but began their journey in Early Years in 2011. Over the past eight years, they have learned new skills that have supported their journey into becoming Nursery Manager. They have an excellent knowledge of SEND and work closely with local authorities to ensure all children’s needs are met.


Ellen has a passion for high-quality learning and education at the nursery, ensuring children can achieve their full potential while attending Luton Road. In addition to supporting the children’s development, it is important to them to ensure staff are always developing themselves and gaining new skills and experiences.

Rose has worked at Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road since 2017, progressing both personally and professionally. Starting as a Nursery Nurse, she has advanced to Room Leader, Third in Charge, and now Deputy Manager.
