The Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery and Preschool is set in a beautifully converted Victorian house with rooms spread over three floors and a log cabin nursery.

Located within the catchment area of many schools which include Roundwood and Woodend school. Providing quality childcare and education, supporting every child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

The well-qualified team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences, within a carefully planned curriculum with Bright Horizons unique Ready for School programme. Fostering an enjoyment of early literacy and maths, with the Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians Enhancement, helping children to recognise letters, words and numbers in their environment.

The nursery features high quality educational resources to suit the age and stage of the children. There are role-play areas in every room to encourage cognitive development, as well as dedicated creative areas.

With all-inclusive fees, which means less to pack on a busy morning, onsite meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. From healthy lunches and snacks to the chosen branded nappies and wipes included in the fees.

My daughter joined Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road four years ago and has stayed there throughout her nursery and pre-school years. She has always been happy and I have consistently been impressed. In the last year, she has particularly enjoyed her pre-school year. The staff are engaging and energetic,
just what a group of four-year-olds need.

Bright Horizons Harpenden has been great so far. Our one year daughter does not officially start until next week however she has had several settling in sessions and clearly loves it. No tears when we drop her off and she heads straight to start playing. All of the staff are fantastic, very kind, caring
and patient. They even got her to have a nap on her second session, a clear sign our daughter is happy and comfortable here.

The nursery has been a wonderful experience for my son. He was shy and reticent when he started and in particular, in Harvey House. His keyworker has made huge efforts to increase his confidence and he is now a sociable, happy young man and loves his time at nursery. They have prepared him brilliantly
for his move up to their preschool room. He really enjoys Little Kickers. His keyworker has shown such care and affection for him. It is lovely to see as a parent. Their learning projects on planets, London and dinosaurs were greeted enthusiastically.

The nursery provides an excellent, welcoming and friendly setting. All the staff at the nursery take time to get to know all of the children and are always available to discuss any needs or requirements.


The family fun day was a brilliant day, where children, parents and staff all got to spend time

together having fun, celebrating successes and getting to know each other.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this nursery. Thank you.

My child has attended Harpenden pre-school and nursery since she was thirteen months old and will soon be leaving for school, aged four and a half. Throughout her three and a half years she has been cared for by staff who get to know her individually, respond to her needs and help her to develop. We
have been very pleased with her time here and the part the nursery has played as she progresses to school.

We have used Asquith for almost four years, with two kids all the way through from babies to pre-school. It has been a fantastic, top class experience. The staff have been brilliant, really attentive, thoughtful and caring to our girls. The key workers pay close attention to how the children develop
and the feedback to us as parents is continuous and most importantly the kids have such fun.

My daughter has been with the nursery since baby unit and is now about to leave the pre-school. She has really enjoyed her time here and has grown in confidence and ability. I am impressed by the learning in pre-school from Maths to French. The care the staff give to all the children is second to none.
The whole nursery work as a team, knowing every child from the reception office, all the way through. We will miss the nursery and the team.

My child has been at Asquith for two years. He loved 'Harvey House' so much he referred to it as 'Happy House.' Over the past two years, he has developed and is ready for school. Staff are brilliant and he loves it here, especially pre-school with the team.

Always great to come in, spend a few hours seeing what the children get up to, see how they are progressing and getting to speak to the staff. Also good when the sun is shining as there is food on offer and you are given plenty of refreshing beverages.

We have just attended a grandparent's afternoon tea session at my daughter's nursery and once again I have left feeling overwhelmed with how excellent the staff and facilities are. It was a special occasion whereby we could spend time getting to know the staff whilst playing with our children and given
time to learn more about what they do on a daily basis. I am so happy we found this nursery and our daughter has the opportunity to learn with the excellent team.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Ellen has been part of the Luton Road family since 2016 but began their journey in Early Years in 2011. Over the past eight years, they have learned new skills that have supported their journey into becoming Nursery Manager. They have an excellent knowledge of SEND and work closely with local authorities to ensure all children’s needs are met.


Ellen has a passion for high-quality learning and education at the nursery, ensuring children can achieve their full potential while attending Luton Road. In addition to supporting the children’s development, it is important to them to ensure staff are always developing themselves and gaining new skills and experiences.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Rose has worked at Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road since 2017, progressing both personally and professionally. Starting as a Nursery Nurse, she has advanced to Room Leader, Third in Charge, and now Deputy Manager.


Rose is passionate about providing the best experiences and opportunities for children while developing strong relationships with families. She is committed to creating a nurturing environment where children can build the confidence and independence essential for their future school years.
