Baby Acorns in Roath near Cardiff city centre, is a bright, spacious nursery with beautiful gardens.

It has sensory equipment, toys and activities to nurture babies and toddlers and encourage them to explore new colours, shapes and activities.

When a baby reaches the age of two and a half, a partner nursery in Oakfield Street will welcome them as they move up, along with their group and key carer.

The children receive nutritious fresh food to feed healthy minds and healthy bodies. The children benefit from a tasty breakfast, a two course lunch, high tea and a 5.30 pm snack. Cooking activities are popular at the nursery, with the children eager to take part in food tasting sessions.

A Forest school, sensory play, music and movement and many other activities all contribute to each child's development.

We love Acorns and feel that the care and experience that our child receives in amazing.
Even though there are a few tears when Mum leaves within minutes looking for his friends and playing.
Couldn't recommend enough and do to all our friends.

I couldn't be more happy with Acorns. The care and dedication all the staff show towards each and every child is phenomenal. My children are so happy, always smiling and full of giggles. Thank you Acorns.

My child always seems happy coming home from nursery. The staff always go into detail about what they have been doing, playing with, eating etc. Really pleased overall with the nursery and staff. Always so friendly and polite.

My child loves Acorns. His development has come on leaps and bounds since starting. His social skills are also improving greatly. All of which I attribute to Acorns. The staff are always friendly and professional. Also are lovely neighbours.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Baby Acorns for their high standard of care. My son Aubrey thoroughly enjoyed his time at this nursery and he was always excited to go! Every time I picked him up he had something to show me that he made in nursery and he took pride sticking his art work on his
bedroom wall. The ladies have always been welcoming and they always showed warmth to my son which I very much appreciate. Thank you very much for creating lovely memories for my son.

Since day 1 my daughter has been welcomed in the home away from home. Made great friends in children and staff. Staff are very attentive and considerate. My daughter can't wait until nursery day to go and see her friends and have fun. Wonderful food and daily and regular updates regarding your child.

Someone said to us not to look around Baby Acorns unless we could afford it. I completely understand why they said that - it's hard to say no to. On our very first visit, our little boy was completely comfortable with the staff and the surroundings. He responded really well to the nursery manager which
was a huge selling point from the outset. Since choosing Baby Acorns because of its walking distance from our home and its beautiful environment and lovely staff, we have been so impressed with their care for our child. He is excited to go, he is sad to leave (!) as he has an attachment to the staff, and comes home with various paintings and creations, and reports of what he's been doing that day. The nursery promotes diversity through their activities that touch on many different religious and seasonal events. We are confident that our child is safe, happy, and stimulated at Baby Acorns and we as parents feel informed and contactable.

I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to any parent looking for somewhere that will look after and nurture their child. My eldest attended the nursery and now my youngest attends the nursery because I rate the staff very highly. As a parent we are always well informed, updated on daily activities
and have plenty of contact with the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they are hugely flexible around each child.
Seeing how much the Manager and the team care about their nursery and the hard work they put in to be the best means I can absolutely, wholeheartedly, recommend this nursery.

My son recently started Baby Acorns at the tender age of 6 months. I was apprehensive because he was so little and because he is a 'lockdown baby' who has had very little interaction with others, but the team at Baby Acorns could not have made it easier. They were very generous with the settling in
sessions - 9 in total of increasing length. As a result, my son has settled in very well. There is a lovely variety of activities on offer and the food and dining facilities are excellent, which means he eats really well while he's there. The staff are kind and friendly - they took the time to understand what his routine was like at home and what things he likes and doesn't like. I would highly recommend this nursery if you want to feel reassured that your child is in a safe and happy environment. It is one of the more expensive nurseries in Cardiff, but it is hard to put a price on the quality of care you wish to receive for your child.

We have sent both of our boys to this nursery and think that the standard of care is excellent. The management and staff are friendly, approachable and professional at all times. I'm reassured by the detailed policies which they have in place and we are emailed regularly with updates - which in the
current climate is very reassuring.

At Baby Acorns we always have a warm welcoming at the door. It is evident that the nursery offers a supportive environment for my child in their care. It provides care and education in a nurturing and happy environment. My child has attended Baby Acorns for the last 6 months and he has made such lovely
friends and is always happy when we pick him up. The staff are so friendly and professional and it is clear that they have a genuine interest in the children’s play and interests as well as providing an excellent balance of support and independence. The food that is provided is nutritious as shown by the menu emailed to us. Since my little one has attended Baby Acorns he is flourishing and learning new skills all of the time.

My little boy loves Baby Acorns. He comes home every day in great form and usually with a new painting. He gets to try a wide variety of food and partakes in activities and celebrations related to lots of different cultures. The staff are brilliant and very friendly and always give a daily report on
how he is getting on. I believe that he is getting the best care there and I'm really glad that he seems to enjoy it so much. I would highly recommend Baby Acorns.

Baby Acorns is a fabulous nursery. I was recommended it by my brother whose two girls went there. They helped my daughter fit in (which was a little rocky at first). Now she doesn’t even look back when we drop her off! She has flourished since she started and absolutely loves it. We appreciate the input
we get from her nursery nurses and the cook to update us on her progress. I would, and have, highly recommended Baby Acorns to people we know.

I can not recommend Baby Acorns and all the staff there highly enough. My little boy transferred there from another nursery and my husband and I have been so impressed with the care he has received. Staff are so kind and the communication between management and staff to parents is brilliant. The Manager
and staff have been wonderful to us and our little boy and they really took the time to ensure that he was settling in well.
Each member of staff know the children so well and it really does feel like a ‘home from home’ environment. When my son first started little details about what he liked and what would help him settle in were remembered by the staff.
Our son has grown in confidence since attending Baby Acorns and he is learning so much! It is so reassuring as parents to know that we are leaving our little boy in such good hands and it is lovely to see him running in on the mornings he is dropped off. My only regret is that we didn’t find Baby Acorns sooner! Brilliant nursery!

We couldn't be happier with the whole experience of our son attending Baby Acorns. From the fantastic professional and caring staff, through to the spotless first-class facilities and recent protocol re Covid-19, we know he's in safe hands learning, playing and socialising whilst we're working.
The
nursery space is fantastic, and we love getting his daily 'reports' on what he's eaten (usually everything because the food is amazing!), and the variety of activities
he's done, plus the super artwork that then adorns our fridge with pride.
Our first daughter also attended and loved her time from Baby Acorns till she went to Reception. It was a done deal that we'd send her brother too, as we saw how nurturing and caring a nursery setting it was. I have done, and will continue to recommend the nursery - it's worth every penny, and its a wonderful choice for young ones to thrive.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2011

Claire has recently moved from her position at Acorns House and after maternity leave has joined the team at Baby Acorns as Manager. She likes to welcome the children and parents in the mornings and especially enjoys messy play and singing circle.


Claire enjoys walking her dog Winston outside work.
