Baby Acorns in Roath near Cardiff city centre, is a bright, spacious nursery with beautiful gardens.

It has sensory equipment, toys and activities to nurture babies and toddlers and encourage them to explore new colours, shapes and activities.

When a baby reaches the age of two and a half, a partner nursery in Oakfield Street will welcome them as they move up, along with their group and key carer.

The children receive nutritious fresh food to feed healthy minds and healthy bodies. The children benefit from a tasty breakfast, a two course lunch, high tea and a 5.30 pm snack. Cooking activities are popular at the nursery, with the children eager to take part in food tasting sessions.

A Forest school, sensory play, music and movement and many other activities all contribute to each child's development.

I can not recommend Baby Acorns and all the staff there highly enough. My little boy transferred there from another nursery and my husband and I have been so impressed with the care he has received. Staff are so kind and the communication between management and staff to parents is brilliant. The Manager
and staff have been wonderful to us and our little boy and they really took the time to ensure that he was settling in well.
Each member of staff know the children so well and it really does feel like a ‘home from home’ environment. When my son first started little details about what he liked and what would help him settle in were remembered by the staff.
Our son has grown in confidence since attending Baby Acorns and he is learning so much! It is so reassuring as parents to know that we are leaving our little boy in such good hands and it is lovely to see him running in on the mornings he is dropped off. My only regret is that we didn’t find Baby Acorns sooner! Brilliant nursery!

We couldn't be happier with the whole experience of our son attending Baby Acorns. From the fantastic professional and caring staff, through to the spotless first-class facilities and recent protocol re Covid-19, we know he's in safe hands learning, playing and socialising whilst we're working.
The
nursery space is fantastic, and we love getting his daily 'reports' on what he's eaten (usually everything because the food is amazing!), and the variety of activities
he's done, plus the super artwork that then adorns our fridge with pride.
Our first daughter also attended and loved her time from Baby Acorns till she went to Reception. It was a done deal that we'd send her brother too, as we saw how nurturing and caring a nursery setting it was. I have done, and will continue to recommend the nursery - it's worth every penny, and its a wonderful choice for young ones to thrive.

Acorns have made a difficult transition as easy as possible. We have every confidence our daughter is provided for and supported in her development. We particularly appreciate the pictures on the app when she learns new skills or is just having a nice day.

Baby Acorns are an amazing nursery. The staff are all so friendly and my daughter has settled in the nursery incredibly well. Every day they have so many various activities for the children. Nothing ever seems too much of a problem and we joined during the pandemic and they are doing a terrific job
keeping everyone safe.

My Son has been attending nursery since November 2020, and I cannot say enough fabulous things about this nursery. My son loves going to Baby Acorns so much, we have increased his days and wouldn't place him anywhere else.
Since joining Acorns he has come on leaps and bounds, we regularly have family
commenting how much he has developed and how brilliant his skills and manners are. The staff genuinely love their jobs and really care about the children they look after. My son always goes in with a smile and open arms for the hug that awaits him each day.
The cleanliness, range of activities, communication with parents, and menus are second to none. The whole nursery from management and admin, to day to day staff are flawless and friendly. We love Acorns, adore the Manager and the team and are so grateful we can leave our son somewhere we know he is safe and happy.

Leaving your precious little ones in the hands of strangers is hard, but having over 20 years experience in the early years sector myself, Baby Acorns came up top trumps for myself and my husband. I was particularly fussy with our choice of nursery for our daughter, we visited so many different nursery
settings within Cardiff and none compared to this nursery.
When we visited for the first time to look around it just fell right, the atmosphere was lovely, the staff were very friendly and the children looked happy and content. We were offered as many settling in sessions as we wanted which helped with the process of leaving my little one after having 17 months off with her.
My daughter has been going to the Nursery for a few months now and absolutely loves it, she gets so excited when the girls open the door to her in the mornings. I know she has had a good day with lots of fun-packed activities as she is exhausted when I take her home.

The team at Acorns have been absolutely amazing. My second child is currently attending (first did as well) and the care and attention is outstanding. They have both loved their time with the team at Acorns and have learnt and developed so well. I would wholeheartedly recommend.

I cannot praise Baby Acorns enough, my daughter absolutely loves her time here. All the staff are amazing and especially at this difficult time right now.

My husband and I are both extremely happy that we sent our son to Acorns nursery, we are now sending our daughter in September. We have recommended Acorns to 3 of our friends who have also now chosen to send their children there too. The staff are fantastic- warm, caring and professional. There’s great
communication between nursery and home and the variety of experiences and opportunities for the children is wonderful- my son comes home happy every day. I feel comfortable that when I leave my child at Acorns each morning, he is safe, happy and learning a huge variety of skills both academically and socially. I can not recommend Acorns enough. Thank you so much for helping my son grow.

Would recommend Acorns in a heartbeat. They are patient, caring, efficient and professional. I have been incredibly impressed with the way they have handled the Covid-19 crisis and have helped to make a terribly stressful and uncertain time a little easier to deal with.
The enrichment and care my
daughter receives from this wonderful nursery is second to none. She loves it there, and I am happy too knowing she is being so well looked after.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough.
Every single member of staff, managers, nursery nurses, caterers, cleaners, everyone is so kind, friendly and caring.
During my sons time at Baby Acorns he came on leaps and bounds.
They accommodated our every need and concern and I always felt reassured
he was in the best possible care.
We have since moved to a new nursery due to a change in location and although we are very happy with the new nursery we still miss all of the staff very much.
Thank you Baby Acorns for everything you do and for taking such wonderful care of our child.
It was the best money I ever spent!

Our little boy joined the Baby Acorns family shortly before his first birthday in summer 2019. He loves it. The staff are phenomenal. He smiles every time they open the door and loves the range of play and activities available. Baby Acorns have also been very accommodating of his dairy allergy and extended
breastfeeding, allowing me to drop off milk as well as nursing him at pick-up when needed. Great team, a wonderful warm atmosphere. 100% great place for little ones.

I cannot speak highly enough of the nursery. Not only has it provided my son with a safe, enjoyable experience, it has contributed to his development and reaching his milestones. Y son holds his hands out to the keyworkers each morning as if to a member of the family. This speaks volumes. Every effort
is made to celebrate cultural events e.g. Diwali, Festival of Light, Harvest, Christmas etc. Progress is regularly monitored and communicated. Each individual receives a daily assessment of their activities. The variety of activities stimulate the children and it is something we can build on at home. Outstanding. A safe, happy, educational and caring environment.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2011

Claire has recently moved from her position at Acorns House and after maternity leave has joined the team at Baby Acorns as Manager. She likes to welcome the children and parents in the mornings and especially enjoys messy play and singing circle.


Claire enjoys walking her dog Winston outside work.
