Her confidence has grown greatly since coming here, along with her social skills.
Our granddaughter is thriving in this nursery. Staff are excellent, they have passion and enthusiasm and genuinely care for the children. It seems most of the staff have been with the company for many, many years which speaks volumes about how happy the place is.
There is strong leadership within the management team who welcome us into the nursery, and as a family, we have been invited to many events such as grandparents day, where it is lovely to see the children have so much fun.
We have some lovely artwork painted by her, and she has the greatest of singing voices and learns new songs each time she is there.
We highly recommend visiting this nursery.
The sections below i.e. Learning, Care, Food etc covers all aspects which a parent would consider when placing their child in the nursery and I rate most of it as either good or excellent.
There has been one instance where the water/milk routine has been ticked on my son's report card even when my son hasn't been in the nursery at that time which led me to think whether the report card is 100% reflective of the day's activities.
Also, there have been multiple instances when my son has come home with bite marks on his hand which haven't been reported (gone unnoticed by the staff) and all gets offered is an apology. It would be good if the staff was vigilant.
This is a wonderful nursery. From day one our daughter has been happy and settled here and I feel her development has come along leaps and bounds. Everyone knows her name and her personality and it is a really personal and caring place. My daughter has particular needs relating to food allergies and the catering is fantastic and staff take this very seriously.
I'm very happy with all aspects of Acorns House, from staff to food to activities and would highly recommend this nursery.
The staff look after him as if he were their own.
He bounds into nursery each day.
Staff are so welcoming and accommodating of his needs.
My daughter has been in Acorns since she was 10 months old. The settling in process was flawless and she thoroughly enjoys every day she attends (currently two days a week). The facilities are maintained to an impeccable standard and you'd struggle to find anywhere better (other than the other Acorns nurseries) around Cardiff. The food from breakfast through to afternoon snacks is delicious. The activities they do with the children, expose them to and effort they put into the celebrations with the children is amazing. I also love the people, all of the staff know my daughter's name and as soon as we walk through the door they are engaging with her. My daughter is currently 1 and a half and people are constantly commenting on her speech and how well she interacts, I truly believe this can be partly attributed to the time she spends in Acorns and the activities they do with her. It is one of the more expensive nurseries in Cardiff, however, it's worth every penny.
Both my sons have attended Acorns House and we have been delighted with their care. They form very loving bonds with their key workers and have all emotional needs met. They have an excellent range of stimulating activities and plenty of outdoor time. The outdoor facilities are a real bonus. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the nursery.
It was the best decision we've ever made to send our daughter to Acorns House. The staff are so friendly and really care about the children. My child is excited to go in the morning and has so much fun, always coming home with new creations from the day! The setting is incredible, the food looks delicious, and the staff are amazing! By far the best nursery we've seen. I will be sad when our little one has to leave to go to school.
Our son is now 16 months and has been at Acorns since he was 7 months old. He adores his key workers and always greets them with a cuddle. I feel very comfortable leaving my son in the excellent care of Acorns House Park Grove.
The staff are extremely professional and human at the same time. My son always feels happy to go to nursery. All the nurses know his name and he knows theirs. The facilities are regularly maintained (carpets have been changed twice in 3 years), the toilets clean. The lunchroom is bright and spacious just close to the kitchen where food is prepared from fresh. The outdoor area is very large, separated in several areas with activities (kitchens, wood toys to build stuff, a castle, bikes, scouters.)
The only mild grievance, very minor, is that my son came a few times with stains on his clothes after a painting activity and maybe aprons are not always being used. But this is very minor in comparison to the rest.
Acorns is a fantastic nursery and our daughter has really thrived since starting age 1. The activities and art work that they help the children create are so imaginative!
Head and shoulders above all other nurseries we first visited. Gentle and respectful staff, attentive to needs. My son has been there three years and we will be sad when he leaves to go to school. I only wish they did wrap around care for schools. My son has developed so much at this nursery and I would highly recommend to all.
My Daughter and I, we are very happy for the excellent professional service. She doesn't want to come home as she feels very welcoming and that's really important when the parents are working. Really recommend Acorn in Park Grove with no issue at all.
Although not the cheapest day rate in Cardiff it has been well worth the extra money.
I have no hesitation in recommending Acorns House. I speak from experience. I have 3 daughters who have visited and attended nurseries in the South Wales area. The care facilities, activities,m resources are outstanding. All areas are spotless. I have absolute confidence in all the staff from the managers to the domestic staff. Have they considered providing private care beyond foundation phase?
We immediately chose this nursery and began the settling in process which was flawless from start to finish with initial stay and play sessions where we could meet the staff, get used to the nursery environment and more importantly watch our little girl making the first bonds with her key worker. They were extremely reassuring and the manager helped us to decide when it was the best time to start settling in sessions where we left our daughter for increasing periods of time.
My daughter cannot wait to go into nursery every day and she doesn't stop talking about free flow where she chooses from lots of different activities freely with her favourites including sand and water play, play dough, painting and baking! We also love the idea that the garden is accessible to the children all day.
The nursery have been extremely helpful recently and accommodating with dietary requirements and working alongside us with reintroducing foods!
My daughter has learned so much since starting at Acorns and we thoroughly enjoy the parents evenings where we look over her profile which has lots of photographs and observations showing how much she has developed over her time at Acorns.
My daughter is now in the preschool group where she benefits from teaching sessions with a qualified teacher and forest school! We are really looking forward to the upcoming Christmas concert also!
We are so happy with our choice for nursery and will be very sad to say goodbye next year when the time for "big school" arrives! A great big thank you to all of the team at Acorns for everything so far!

I started working for Acorns nurseries in 1999 as a Nursery Nurse, progressing to an Assistant Manager then a Nursery Manager.
I have managed Acorns St Mellons, Acorns Oakfield Street and Acorns House since September 2022.
I love being a hands on manager interacting with staff and children, I love art and crafts, seeing what wonderful masterpieces the children can create!
