An amazing nursery with fabulous caring staff.
The standard of Acorns' nurseries is above all others locally. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. We, as a family, have been using Acorns since 2016 and are beyond happy with the care they have provided our children.
Our son has attended Acorns House nursery for over 3.5 years and we are extremely satisfied with the nursery, staff and care he has received. The facilities at Acorns House are wonderful and the staff are excellent. The high level of personal service is extended beyond that to the children who attend, but to the parents as well. We are very happy with the communications that we receive - from our son’s key carers every day, from management and the company directors. Staff are always on hand to discuss any queries and are very supportive. The nursery should be commended on their handling of the covid-19 situation and all the steps and precautions that they have put in place. We are very grateful that nursery continues to open during this time and the level of care and education our son receives continues to be high. Our son enjoys going to nursery and always chats happily about what he’s been up to that day. Many thanks to all at Acorns House.
As mums, I think it is natural to second guess decisions that we make when it comes to our children. I can wholeheartedly say that this is one decision I have never questioned! Both of my children attend Acorns House and are absolutely thriving there. The staff put so much effort into getting to know each child, every day is full of fun and engaging activities, and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. There is no better feeling than leaving your children with people that you know will treat them as if they are their own!
We have been sending our daughter to Acorns House since she was 1 year old, right through to pre-school before she leaves for primary later this year. There is absolutely nowhere else I would send my child. The care she has received is exceptional, the support we have had has been excellent and the facilities, resources are second to none. A wonderful start to my child’s education and I wouldn’t even look elsewhere for my second.
My son is 3 and has been in Acorns Park Grove since he was 18 months old. I can’t speak highly enough of the team there. I’m regularly amazed at the things he has learned whilst at Acorns. They make our lives so much easier and in the last 12 months, when times were very tough, they did all they could which was very much appreciated. They’ve helped my son with ditching the dummy, potty training, language skills etc. More than that, they’ve helped him with manners, and normal toddler behaviour issues. At home, he now has an interest in tidying up after activities, cleaning and cooking as well as games, toys, literacy and numeracy, and outdoor play. You won’t be disappointed if you place your child with them.
We couldn’t love Acorns House more if we tried - our youngest is currently loving life in the Little Lambs room. Our eldest who is now in school attended from 11 months - 4 years and loved his time there. He grew in confidence so much and was always happy and well looked after. He has made friends that he still sees regularly (albeit at the moment via Zoom because of lockdown restrictions!). The staff at Acorns are all brilliant - so friendly, caring and have such a great connection with the children. We didn’t hesitate to send our youngest in and he absolutely loves going to nursery, a testament to how creative and fun-filled the staff make his days there. He has also made great friends and we couldn’t recommend the nursery and all the staff there enough. It is so wonderful to have a nursery that you can 100% trust and have peace of mind that your children are being looked after so well, being entertained as well as educated. And my boys love the food menu, which offers lots of variety. Thank you Acorns!
The staff at the nursery have been brilliant in helping my son settle in and start to enjoy his Nursery experience. He really enjoys it and is always happy at pick up time. We get a lot of feedback on his day and it’s clear the staff really care for him. Covid procedures are in place and work well. I would definitely recommend the nursery to friends and family
The staff at this nursery have been outstanding with my son. He started at the age of 10 months when was extremely attached to me. But now, because of the time, effort and love the staff have shown him, he runs into nursery! Would recommend to anyone, a brilliant place for children.
Our daughter has been attending Acorns Park Grove for just over 2 years. We've had a really positive experience at Acorns and despite Covid restrictions, our daughter continues to enjoy attending creche and seeing her friends. We've been pleased with the level of care overall, and in particular, the support with potty training was huge at the time in helping to reinforce both at home and in creche - it was a big help. Price-wise, it's not cheap, especially for 1 to 2 year-olds, but once you add in nappies, food etc, it's arguably competitively priced. As they get older the price does drop a little bit. Overall, we would recommend Acorns Park Grove. It's a really friendly, positive environment and our daughter has thrived there, giving her a good foundation for when she starts school nursery.
My son has been in this nursery for nearly 2 years and I can't thank enough for all the support, care and attention that they give us and also the children. They make the children happy and help in their development with all the different activities they make with them. I can only say that instead of going to work stressed and insecure I feel like my son is in good hands.
I viewed a number of nursery settings but this is by far the best nursery around. All staff members are kind and very approachable! Even though my son has a few tears at the door, they always console him and put both me and him at ease! Would highly recommend especially how they have dealt with the current Covid 19 situation.
My son has been here for the last 2 years and he absolutely loves it! The staff are so nice and always help with any queries. I was so nervous leaving my little boy but they put me at ease. 100% recommend.
Acorns is such a wonderful nursery. Our little girl aged 18 months loves going and her development is amazing from attending. The nursery staff are amazing so caring and encouraging towards her, she is happy to see them and doesn't even look back when she arrives.
My daughter attended Acorns for three years, starting at eight months old. The staff and setting are fantastic and it was hard for us to leave. Each member of staff was caring and friendly, it made going back to work that much easier knowing that my daughter was well cared for and enjoyed her day at Acorns. As she got older, we could see her development coming on in leaps and bounds. She made great friends and was encouraged in every aspect of her learning. I can't praise the team highly enough, they were very understanding and friendly, and my daughter has fond memories of her time there. I would highly recommend the setting.
My daughter went here for from 9 months to 4 years, the staff were very helpful, caring and thoughtful. My daughter loved going to nursery never had a problem with her going, always happy when collecting.
A really warm and kind nursery with genuinely caring staff. Lots of relevant activities for the children and our daughter loves going there.
I can't rate Acorns highly enough. Both my little boys went to Acorns; my youngest is still there and he enjoys going to nursery hugely. He adores his key workers and they know him incredibly well, which demonstrates how much time they invest in him. He gets to engage in lots of different types of activities, and now he's in pre-school is developing literacy and numeracy skills noticeably quickly thanks to their efforts. He was particularly thrilled with the opportunity to do Forest School, which I was really impressed with as an activity provided for the kids. Having spoken with parents at other nurseries, I really do get the impression that Acorns provides a better experience for the children. Management are all extremely professional, friendly and organised; the food is all home-cooked from scratch, and the building is exceptionally clean. I couldn't be happier with the environment they create for my son.
Acorns is a very good and welcoming nursery. We always feel welcome when dropping off or collecting our son and all the staff greet him by name and he clearly likes all his key workers and other nursery staff that he sees on a regular basis. They arrange a wide range of activities to keep both the children entertained and to educate them and adapt the program to reflect the current season. The nursery have also been excellent at handling his dietary requirements. If looking for a nursery we would highly recommend visiting Acorns as we had originally discounted it due to location, but immediately changed our minds after visiting it.
Very friendly, welcoming warm staff. We are very happy with the love and care our daughter receives. Every morning we are greeted with love and we feel we are important. Happy with the learning development. My daughter is two years old and she can read.

I started working for Acorns nurseries in 1999 as a Nursery Nurse, progressing to an Assistant Manager then a Nursery Manager.
I have managed Acorns St Mellons, Acorns Oakfield Street and Acorns House since September 2022.
I love being a hands on manager interacting with staff and children, I love art and crafts, seeing what wonderful masterpieces the children can create!
