Acorns Whitchurch is located in a grand Victorian house in the heart of Whitchurch and welcomes children from birth to five-years-old.

The nursery is very much at the heart of the community in Whitchurch. The children enjoy lots of visits from local visitors such as fireman, policeman, dentists and visits to the local care home for singing sessions are always eagerly anticipated by the residents.

The large windows and high ceilings ensure a light and airy space in the playrooms where the children enjoy a variety of activities such as music time, dressing up, sensory equipment and the book corner.

The little ones can enjoy activities such as sand and water play, jelly play, painting and specialist trikes and scooters ensure that even the most active boys and girls get to use up all their excess energy.

Acorns Whitchurch is excellent. My daughter started at 9 months and the settling in process was brilliant. The staff are attentive and caring, the environment safe and stimulating and I am always impressed by the wide range of activities they offer. The menu is varied and nutritious and I particularly
like how the food is always cooked from scratch on site. My daughter has attended for 2 years now and has a lovely relationship with the staff. I always feel well-informed and reassured she’s happy. I thoroughly recommend Acorns Whitchurch.

My granddaughter started at Acorns, Whitchurch, as a baby and is now 3 years old. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who have been incredibly supportive towards my granddaughter and indeed us as a family. They have been so accommodating, friendly and caring towards us all as a family and we will
have very fond memories when my granddaughter finally moves on to primary school. I should like to take this opportunity to thank the managers over the past 3 years and all the staff who care for the children.

I’ve been really impressed with the team at Acorns, they worked so hard to settle my daughter in nursery when she first started and have been amazing ever since. My child has attended Acorns Whitchurch for nearly four years and I have been incredibly happy with the care he has received there.
He has always had attentive care workers who know him well and I have always felt confident in the ability of all staff members.
The curriculum has always been clearly
outlined and links to home are encouraged but never forced. He has been given countless opportunities to participate in a vast array of activities to educate and stimulate him in a fun way.
The menu is varied and encourages the children to try new food. And the cakes are amazing!

I have two children in Acorns Nursery in Whitchurch. I am very happy with the nursery in all aspects. The staff are fantastic and I have no issues. If I ever need to ask for anything it is no problem and my children are happy there.
They complete lovely activities, I particularly like the new way
to connect with the nursery through Capture and love receiving updates.

My daughter has been at Acorns for over two years and I cannot rate the nursery highly enough. All of the staff are incredibly kind helpful and supportive. The activities that they do look like great fun and we get regular pictures and updates sent through. The garden is brilliant and the children love
being out there. I think the best praise I can give is that my daughter is always excited to go in the morning.

My daughter joined Acorns Whitchurch when she turned one and she instantly loved it there. She has been attending the nursery for almost a year now and looks forward to it every week. She has developed so much during that time, thanks to the variety of activities the nursery provides. Everyone always
comments on how good her speech is and I know a lot of that is down to Acorns. She has developed such strong bonds with many of the staff at Acorns, all of whom are wonderful. I can't recommend this nursery highly enough!

Acorns Whitchurch has made sending my daughter to nursery such a smoother transition than I anticipated. The staff made both my daughter and myself so welcome during the settling in sessions and I have continued to feel so at ease knowing I am sending her to a kind, caring and highly professional nursery.
The daily feedback forms are really helpful and informative to give parents a good understanding of what your child has been doing that day. The staff take the time to talk it through with you and are always so friendly when dropping off and collecting your child. My daughter has settled in really well to Acorns Whitchurch and we have been so pleased with all the learning opportunities and experiences she has been given since going there. My daughter's key workers, in particular, have been fantastic and have made us as parents feel so happy knowing that she is being well looked after and cared for.

Both of my children have attended Acorns Whitchurch over the last few years and I can honestly say I could not have chosen a better nursery to trust with taking care of them. It can be really difficult to find somewhere you're comfortable leaving your children, but Acorns Whitchurch has helped make
it a much easier experience and an extremely fulfilling and enjoyable one for the children. I'm grateful to everyone who has helped take care of them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Acorns to any parent or carer. The facilities and the care they provide is second to none.

My son has been at the nursery for almost 2 years and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I have really seen my son develop and I’m really impressed by the range of activities the children get involved in. My son's key workers are really friendly and genuinely seem interested in his development.


It

is more expensive than other nurseries, however, the combination of staff, facilities and range of meals and activities makes it worth every penny!

All staff are approachable and happy to help. We are always made to feel welcome when dropping off and picking up, and it's never an issue if I want to give a phone call during the day to check how my son is getting on. There is always a range of activities available through the day, and I've enjoyed
attending parents evening and events at Christmas, Mothers day etc which give a great opportunity to spend time at the nursery seeing what the children get up to. Very clean and well maintained.

Our little boy has been going to Acorns Whitchurch for around 3 years. He has had the best care from the first day he started, he is so happy at nursery and the staff show him so much encouragement and really have taken the time to get to know his personality and make sure that every day is fun as well
as having opportunities to learn and grow. I would highly recommend to any parent. When I drop my son off at nursery I always know that he is being cared for and loved just like when he’s at home. We now have another little boy and I know when the time comes to go back to work, the team at Acorns Whitchurch will make the transition easy for him and me!

Vicci McTiffen

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Vicci has worked for Acorns since 2005 and has worked as a Nursery Manager at Acorns Aviva and Acorns Duffryn before Acorns ONS. She particularly enjoys seeing the children develop from babies to pre-schoolers and the pride of seeing them head off to school.


Vicci has two children who attended Acorns and Acorns Action Pak.
