Acorns Whitchurch is located in a grand Victorian house in the heart of Whitchurch and welcomes children from birth to five-years-old.

The nursery is very much at the heart of the community in Whitchurch. The children enjoy lots of visits from local visitors such as fireman, policeman, dentists and visits to the local care home for singing sessions are always eagerly anticipated by the residents.

The large windows and high ceilings ensure a light and airy space in the playrooms where the children enjoy a variety of activities such as music time, dressing up, sensory equipment and the book corner.

The little ones can enjoy activities such as sand and water play, jelly play, painting and specialist trikes and scooters ensure that even the most active boys and girls get to use up all their excess energy.

Initially, my son found the transition from childminder to nursery difficult and took a while to settle. Following unconditional positive regard from the staff he is now so happy and settled - even reaching for staff on the door to go in. I never thought we would get here! Staff are friendly and always
pleased to see him as well as comforting and empathetic when he's unsettled. Their patience and kindness have made going to work in the mornings a lot easier knowing he is happy, liked and well cared for. He's greeted by a cuddle and a familiar happy face each morning and loves time in the large outdoor space. The staff are professional and communication is thorough and clear - there are regular newsletters, home learning links and an app is used to share photos. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My son has really enjoyed his two years at Acorns Nursery in Whitchurch. It has been a joy to drop him off in the mornings knowing that he is happy and content and then picking him up late afternoon, seeing his happy face, his artwork/creations that he presents me with and to hear a story or two about
his day. The greetings I received from nursery staff, chef included, were always so warm and welcoming and I always got a thorough handover on pick up. Nothing seemed like too much hassle for the staff, especially time to talk if needs be. It has meant a lot to my partner and I to see our son look happy and develop into a well-balanced little 3-year-old, ready for school nursery, in this caring environment. Acorns has given our son a great start in his life journey and we shall miss bringing him here now that he is off to school nursery. Thank you Acorns, for your advice, support, caring nature, sense of fun and great food from the kitchen. I would highly recommend Acorns Nursery.

Acorns Whitchurch is absolutely fantastic! My son settled in so well here and loves going there. All of the staff are so friendly and attentive. They are all so committed and dedicated with all the children and the range of activities they do has brought our son on so much. Everyone is approachable
and whilst aspects of dropping off and collecting children have changed, and only due to covid, it is not done in a cold or unfriendly way. Whoever is at the front door is always there with a welcoming smile and all the staff have so much time for you. I cannot explain how reassuring it is knowing I am leaving him in a safe, fun, and loving environment.

Acorns provide an excellent level of care for our daughter. They keep us informed every day via the app and are always keen to inform me or my husband about her day when we pick her up. They also cared for my oldest daughter and she loved attending too until she started school. We are very lucky to
have such kind and caring key workers looking after our daughter and recommend the nursery highly. Thank you Acorns for all you have done for our family and continue to do for our family. Our daughter is thriving and so happy to be dropped off in the morning. It makes such a difference to us as a family, we couldn't imagine her attending anywhere else and we are incredibly grateful to you.

We are absolutely amazed by the service at Acorns Nursery Whitchurch! Our little boy loves it, which makes us very happy. The range of activities and food is fantastic. The staff are so friendly. We are absolutely thrilled with Acorns Whitchurch. As someone who was unsure about sending our child to nursery at all, we couldn’t be happier with the care our son receives, as well as the fantastic array of activities and the wonderful food menu. Our son absolutely loves it and can’t wait to get there
in the morning! The staff are fabulous - they show him so much love and always take the time to tell us about his day via the app and when we pick him up. I think it is excellent value for money considering the service you get.

My son absolutely loves coming to the nursery. He has lots of friends to play with. He eats their meals very well. They have renewed the garden recently. It is wonderful with the lawn corner and learning corner with rooftops. My son enjoys riding a tricycle there. He adores nursery nurses and talks
about them a lot. I get daily reports via the app. Lots of photos and details on his day. I really enjoy checking it.

My daughter has been attending Acorns Whitchurch for the past 18 months and I can highly recommend this nursery. The staff are always so friendly and attentive with both my daughter and myself. The past year has been so difficult with the pandemic, however, the nursery has handled it exceptionally well!
My daughter is always so happy going into nursery and sometimes doesn’t want to come home.

We received a short synopsis from Acorns Whitchurch about our little boy this month and it was great to hear about his development at Acorns Whitchurch. We have noticed that he had become a lot more confident recently using the English language, as it is his second language and we are very happy that
he is gaining those skills at Acorns Whitchurch. We are very happy with the care provided at Acorns Whitchurch and of the daily updates on the app. We know that our little boy looks forward to his days there. We have recommended Acorns Whitchurch to others and I believe three children have since registered at Acorns Whitchurch.

I could not recommend Acorns enough. My son went from 10 months old and settled in immediately. Their settling in process was very structured and the staff were so supportive - which eased my worries of leaving him to go back to work. He is now 2 and comes home so excited to tell us about his day, he
loves it there! We will definitely be keeping him there as long as possible and sending any future children.

Our daughter has been attending Acorns Whitchurch since September 2020 and we could not be happier with the care she receives. The staff are so welcoming, helpful and caring and keep us fully informed. The type and variety of activities she undertakes is incredible, and the menus are healthy and varied.
We look forward to hearing about what fun activities she has been doing each day, and to seeing her smiles and artwork when we pick her up. She has developed in leaps and bounds since she started at Whitchurch and we are so happy with our choice of nursery - thank you Acorns!

Exceptional nursery that goes above and beyond for my daughter. She has settled in so well for her first couple of 3 day weeks and her development since she’s been going has been incredible! The staff are so friendly and clearly care about her and she seems to have bonded well with many of the staff
and other children.
I love getting my daily update on the app that shows me all of the amazing things she gets up to, as well as all the home links activities for us to continue at home. Given the very difficult situation in the world at the moment, they have made us as a family feel very comfortable and grateful for having our daughter with them. Can’t recommend enough.

All 3 of my children have attended Acorns Whitchurch with the youngest there at the moment. It’s a fantastic nursery and even during these difficult times, the staff go out their way to ensure a safe nurturing environment for the children. When my little one attends I know he’s well looked after and
partaking in a wide range of activities and eating nutritious meals.

The staff goes out of their way to welcome my daughter to nursery and she comes back happy, enthused and talking about the staff warmly. Most days my daughter brings home a drawing or artwork that the class have worked on during the day. My partner and I feel content that our daughter is going to a
safe, clean, and friendly environment where she’s going to learn and have fun. The management team are very knowledgeable about their industry and very approachable. A professional, friendly, high-quality service that is worthy of the excellent reputation that it has in the locality.

We chose Acorns Whitchurch for our daughter as the 7:30am start time was really useful, but we’re so pleased that we opted for Acorns for so many reasons, other than just the early start time. The cleanliness, professionalism and level of service is fantastic. The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable.
We’d recommend Acorns to anyone looking for a nursery for their child.

Acorns Whitchurch is a fantastic nursery. All four of our children have attended Acorns (we currently have two of our children there).
All the team at Acorns are super friendly, nurturing and kind towards the children. They thrive and develop well with all the activities and nutritious food. My boys
love going to nursery! As soon as we drop them off, we are happy knowing they receive the highest standards of care.
These are very worrying times and the nursery has done it’s very best in ensuring the children, parents and their team are kept safe and well looked after. The standards of hygiene are extremely high.
We would 100% recommend Acorns Whitchurch.

Vicci McTiffen

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Vicci has worked for Acorns since 2005 and has worked as a Nursery Manager at Acorns Aviva and Acorns Duffryn before Acorns ONS. She particularly enjoys seeing the children develop from babies to pre-schoolers and the pride of seeing them head off to school.


Vicci has two children who attended Acorns and Acorns Action Pak.
