The recently refurbished Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Newbiggin makes you feel like you've gained new family members when you meet their friendly, approachable team at their purpose-built, all-on-one level nursery.

Their ParentZone app keeps parents informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, assessments, meals are eaten and even toilet training progress! They are big on safety which is why all their staff are Paediatric first aid trained.

The nursery are Green Flag eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences. They have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

They have 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children, such as encouraging them to be independent to expressing their feelings.

The nursery has an outdoor play area that is surrounded by the remainder of the building, making it a safe and secure environment for children to play in. Staff and children take advantage of all of the local amenities which include two play areas, one at the entrance to nursery and one at the rear.

My child is happy when I drop her off and pick her up, the staff give amazing feedback, update me on the app all the time and always do lots of activities with her. They support her development as well as having fun and looking after them.

Staff are knowledgeable about my child's development and always offer support and ideas to help at home. My child gets so excited to attend nursery and enjoys all activities provided. Staff and management are always warm and welcoming towards me and my family.


Meals are always notorious and I'm always

kept updated on anything nursery related. I feel safe leaving my child in their care. As a parent, I'm always invited to extra curriculum activities eg Mother's Day breakfast, parent forums etc. Fantastic value for money. The app is easy to use and I'm able to check in on what my child's up to whenever I want.

My son goes to nursery every day and he loves going there. He has settled very well in the nursery. He really likes the teachers there and his friends. It really helps in his development and having a social connection every day. The teachers are also very helpful during handover and let us know what
happened during the day (eating, sleeping, behaviour..).

Little Pioneers has been amazing since my little girl started in February. After only a few visits, she was smiling and eager to go in. My little boy attended this nursery from being 9 months old, the staff helped him grow in confidence and brought him on so much. We were very emotional when it was time for big school but we are lucky that the nursery can offer a holiday club in the half terms. Now in the school holidays my son asks
if he's going back to nursery to see all of his big friends (the staff)

My daughter is one and goes here two mornings a week and love's it. She is always so chatty and happy when she comes out. I love all the updates and pictures that are put on the app to see what they have been up to. All the staff are brilliant and she is always so happy to see them.

I went back to work in February and it was the first time being away from my little one but the team at the nursery made it an easy transition. It was tough at first as she constantly cried when she was dropped off but they kept posting updates which made me feel more comfortable being away from her
knowing that she was in capable hands. Now she is not bothered about being left there and when she sees them she smiles which really makes me happy to see.

My son absolutely loves attending three days a week. He has attended since being 12months old and his development is rapidly getting better every week since starting. My little boy started nursery this week. It was quite an anxious time for me as it was the first time I left him with anyone that wasn't family. The girls in the baby room have made me so comfortable and relaxed about this transition. My little boy has loved going and is excited when we arrive and that
is completely down to the girls in the baby room making it a fun and safe space for him. They keep me updated with everything he has done in his day including what he's eaten etc. I am excited to see how my little one will grow and develop now he has started.

My daughter struggled at settling in at first but the team were amazing, made her feel safe and comfortable in no time. She now runs into nursery and asks to go each week. They go above and beyond to meet my childs needs and I couldn't thank them enough for everything they do.
