The recently refurbished Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Newbiggin makes you feel like you've gained new family members when you meet their friendly, approachable team at their purpose-built, all-on-one level nursery.

Their ParentZone app keeps parents informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, assessments, meals are eaten and even toilet training progress! They are big on safety which is why all their staff are Paediatric first aid trained.

The nursery are Green Flag eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences. They have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

They have 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children, such as encouraging them to be independent to expressing their feelings.

The nursery has an outdoor play area that is surrounded by the remainder of the building, making it a safe and secure environment for children to play in. Staff and children take advantage of all of the local amenities which include two play areas, one at the entrance to nursery and one at the rear.

Fantastic nursery with amazing staff. All three of my children have or do attend Newbiggin and they have all loved it. Great activities and extra curricular activities, lots of learning opportunities and getting ready for school. Thank you to all the staff!

We have had our daughter at the nursery and she loves it. She joined after Christmas and had soon settled in well. She has a very close relationship with the staff whom we trust implicitly. They are kind, friendly and caring.
The app also helps us track her activities and shows us how she is doing
including her eating and sleeping and is a great tool for parents and puts our minds at ease.
The nursery seems to have a lot of facilities to keep our daughter occupied and the staff are always attentive to her needs. They encourage her to socialise and join in activities which will broaden her experience and learning.
We are very happy with the nursery and would recommend to friends.

Every member of staff is absolutely fantastic and caters to every individual need of the children in their care. Kitchen staff are fantastic - meals are varied and tasty (my child often has seconds so definitely enjoys!). The children get to do so many different activities and every day is different,
I am kept up to date with my daughter's development using the app, also allows me to see pictures daily of what she gets up to and also gives advice on development (to do at home) and milestones! Very happy and would highly recommend!

Everyone at the nursery is so kind and patient helping my son settle in. They always have great activities planned and a safe outdoor play area. The hours are great too work around my schedule great.

I love this nursery, my baby has been going there since he was 9 months old and he’s nearly two now. He still enjoys every day of his nursery time. He loves all the girls. Thank you to all the lovely girls.

My daughter loves it here. The staff are all friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault it. She’s learned loads since being here, she’ll be leaving for full-time school soon, I'd rather her stay here all the time as she loves it and the staff are lovely.

Newbiggin have been absolutely fantastic with my daughter! They have been so patient with her settling in and very understanding of our worries as she has an underlying health condition.
The management are very helpful and were able to help in relation to tax-free childcare and free hours.

My son started here aged 22 months after being at a different nursery since 15 months.
During his 5 months at Little Pioneers he has come on leaps and bounds due to the dedication of the staff and helpers. I cannot recommend this nursery enough and really regret not moving my son earlier.

My daughter came here from another nursery and settled in very quickly. Thanks to all the staff.
They are constantly putting information into the app which is great. We know when she eats, sleeps etc.
It’s also great to pick up from inside the nursery. We have a chance to see her in the nursery environment.

My daughter has attended nursery and pre-school, starting in 2021. Although unable to visit for a tour, we had a virtual visit and the staff were so accommodating considering the COVID restrictions going on at that time. Since then, my daughter progressed through all the rooms, ending with pre-school.
She took to nursery from the beginning and loved every minute. She made some good friends and absolutely loved her key worker. The team work so hard to prepare the children for school and nurture their interests. My daughter loved art and creative jobs, so her key worker would come up with ideas that she knew my daughter would enjoy. There was also many opportunities to visit nursery for Christmas fayre/summer fayre, Halloween parties and a mother's day tea over the years as well as regular parents evenings. I can't recommend this nursery highly enough. My daughter is so sad to leave, but I know she's been given the best possible start.

The nursery has done a fantastic job with my son. His speech has come on leaps and bounds and often tells us about what he has been learning e.g. Volcanos. The staff are fantastic and always give a good handover of the time at the nursery. When I have had queries the management has been excellent at
providing me information or following up on invoice queries.

My daughter has attended Little Pioneers Nursery and Pre-School. I would like to thank the staff and management for nurturing and preparing her for the next stage in her life. My daughter has been encouraged to experience many of life's challenges and given her pride in herself and her community. I
know she will level with a heavy heart but am comforted knowing she has had the best foundation a child could wish to have at Little Pioneers.

Beautiful nursery, very spacious, clean and with lots of resources, the large outdoor area is particularly excellent. Good communication with parents, we get lots of updates on what our child has ate, naps, nappy changes, etc via their app. Excellent staff who are welcoming, approachable and show genuine
care, our son has a great relationship with his key worker and other members of staff who he is usually with. My son runs in excited and very happy to be at this nursery
