Refurbished in 2020 and located conveniently right in the heart of Newcastle, Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Newcastle is spacious and bright, with large rooms for each age group and a sensory room for storytime.

They are big on happy children and that's why they take care of each other and the world, have regular visits to their local care homes, and have a growing area for food. They have 5 little pioneers who help share their core values with the children, from making their own choices to encouraging them to be independent.

The nursery is silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making real environmental differences. Their staff are also all paediatric first aid trained as they are big on safety.

They also have an app, ParentZone, which keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery, from photos, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

There are four home rooms with the nursery split into the following age groups: three months to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds.

I could not praise or recommend this nursery enough, to have a prem baby born at 25 weeks, who may need a little extra support, the worry n stress as his only safe space, I struggled with going back to work so soon, but this nursery, the teachers I bonded with, who I bought cards and little gifts, because
when you pick your baby up, the real proof in his lovely a teacher has been is when ur baby tries to kiss them and beams with smiles, wow before this my baby would not even look or interact with anyone but immediate family, this nursery has met every need for ollie, encouraged n brought him along so much, to the point i dont want him moving class, his teachers have became ppl I love to speak with and ollie is thriving because of these, amazing from me Ollie's mamma

The staff are all absolutely wonderful with my daughter. They communicate so well about her needs and always keep me updated on how her day has been.
A special shout out to Dawn, who goes out of her way to make sure I'm comfortable during my pregnancy and always ensures there is easy, safe access for
my stroller when I come to collect my little girl.
The deputy manager, Ceri, is also amazing and always a delight to speak with.
Stacey, my daughter's key person, knows her better than I do. They have such a strong relationship, and my daughter learns so much through her care and support.
I'm so grateful for the kindness, professionalism and dedication of the whole team.

Whenever my child nears nursery she gets so excited. The bond she has with some of the staff is wonderful, and I can see that as she grins and laughs with them.
My child is being challenged in her development and I can see her interests expand at home as well!

Our daughter attended this nursery from 11 months to 2 years (when we changed due to a house move). We always felt very confident in the team and upon searching for a new nursery we realised how spoilt we were at Little Pioneers in lots of ways. The staff are great, the menu of food cooked on site
is all very healthy and even though the garden involves a bit of effort to get the children to we were always impressed by how often they got to play outside.

The teachers and administrators are very kind to the kids, full of love and patience. We are deeply grateful for their dedication! The teachers play games with the children, and when a child feels down, they comfort her and give her a hug.

Our experience with Little Pioneers nursery has been very positive since we got in touch with the administration in May-June last year. We have moved to Newcastle in July and the staff was really helpful in providing support and information.
The staff is knowledgeable, kind and caring. Our son is
very happy to go to nursery every morning. As a speech therapist myself I am very picky about the kind of approach my son is being given, but meeting with the team the first few times made me feel comfortable and confident in their abilities to provide the kind of support that would answer my needs and expectations.

Our little boy has attended Little Pioneers since he was 11 months old and he is nearly 4 now. Unfortunately we are moving him to be closer to home as we are no longer working in Newcastle but this wasn't an easy decision to make. Little Pioneers feels like home for all of us, the staff are always so
kind and we always feel our little boy is in safe hands. He always has lots of fun and is day always sounds quite varied. We would absolutely recommend the Nursery to anyone and we are very sad to be leaving.

Sending our toddler to nursery for the first time felt like a huge step, and we had all the usual worries. But from day one, Little Pioneers put our minds at ease. The staff are fantasticv - so friendly and welcoming - and the fact that every single one of them knows and greets our little one by name
makes such a difference.
It's clear they really care, and that's made the whole process so much easier for us. Our toddler loves it there, and we love seeing them happy and settled and the progress they have made with their learning skills. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better nursery.

My child has really enjoyed his time at the nursery and has made great progress in his social skills, especially with his peers. He seems to be developing a love for play-based learning, and I'm happy to see him engaging with the activities. The staff are very kind, which helps him feel safe and comfortable.
I also appreciate the regular updates and communication about his progress. Thank you.

Our son loves Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School. The staff are kind, caring and accommodating. I love that it's not just the nursery staff that are warm to him, but the cleaner and cook are so friendly too. The baby room is nice and big, so doesn't feel too overwhelming for him as there's plenty
of space to play. Unfortunately we're moving nursery to be nearer to my partner's work, but we're all going to miss Little Pioneers! He's been well cared for, and his key worker goes above and beyond.

The staff are amazing with my son. He struggles a bit with situations and big groups and the team are so accommodating and helpful with supporting his needs as well as giving myself updates.
He has an amazing varied diet and always enjoys going to nursery, waving bye to me.
They are so good with
their safeguarding and asked for photos of family members who were collecting him if they haven't seen them or met them before.
The managers are so friendly and helpful.

An outstanding nursery; they have looked after my child since he was 1 and his development is amazing, they teach everything from manners, colours, words, sentence structure, toilet training etc, each day he comes out happy and learnt something new, never had any concerns staff are all polite, helpful
and caring towards everyone and always willing to talk and assist where possible and help you help your child at home to continue the learning. The encouragement is great! I highly recommend this nursery.

No regrets, if we went back in time we would choose the nursery again. Our twins cannot wait to go in. It is very reassuring for us as parents to see how excited they get when they realise where they are. The staff are very nice too and very approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. We couldn't recommend
the nursery enough. If you want a nursery where your child thrives and develops into an independent, confident little boy or little girl, Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School is definitely the nursery in Newcastle.

Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School, Newcastle, is a brilliant nursery that I would recommend to anyone. Our little girl has come on leaps and bounds in the two years she's been attending and has grown to be such a confident girl that she knows the nursery is a safe and secure place for her to grow
and explore.
The staff give informative updates. Her development and well-being are a top priority, and I drop her off daily, knowing how well looked after she is.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.914 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School, Newcastle is calculated as follows: ( (333 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 360 Ratings = 4.914
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School, Newcastle is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 116 number of registered child places is 23.2, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
