An outstanding nursery in Hull.

Situated in one of Bright Horizons' client settings, the popular David Lloyd Leisure Club nursery welcomes all families in the area and is easily accessible from surrounding villages in Hull.

All the rooms are cosy, bright, warm and welcoming with highly qualified staff in all six rooms.

Bright Horizons Hull Kingswood provides stimulating activities, which offer a wide range of learning opportunities. There is an enclosed outside area for all the children to access, with a special baby and toddler garden for them to play and explore.

Children’s wellbeing is of the utmost priority at the Hull children's nursery and they strive to develop all the children into confident little learners.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

All children have a key person. This enables children and their families to form a strong bond and build up that trust which is needed from the beginning.

The nursery has its own chef who works on site, providing fresh, healthy and nutritional meals based on a three-week menu cycle. The menu changes throughout the year to coincide with the seasons and caters for all.

With all-inclusive fees, which means less to pack on a busy morning, all the healthy meals and snacks are prepared by the onsite chef with nutrition in mind.

The nursery was rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted in September 2017.

My child loves coming to this nursery. He has formed many friendships and has always settled well into into his rooms and formed really positive relationships with his key workers. Most of the staff are friendly, approachable and communicate well with myself and my husband at the end of the day. My
only criticism, is since moving onto the Bright Horizon's app, daily activities my son takes part in, are not recorded or shared with us, so I often don’t know what he has done. When this was done on paper, his daily activities were written down clearly and this seems to have dropped off on the app. When activities are shared on the app and social media, they look exciting and engaging, but often I am unsure of what my little boy has been up to, as these are becoming less and less. It would be great if staff could share what children have been doing more often on the app, with photographs too. Also, the queuing system for dropping off and picking up needs addressing, especially during peak times.

My daughter has been coming here for around nine months now and absolutely loves it. Effectively she’s an only child (big age gap), so she gets the socialisation she needs and it’s helped her development considerably. She started during the pandemic and the nursery have been faultless in their handling
of the situation and ensuring the safety of the staff and children. My only complaint could be that parents are not allowed into the nursery. I’m not sure if this is a covid related change, but I would love to be able to see my daughter in the nursery setting upon collection. This would also speed up the process to aid the key workers. Would be happy to leave my daughter here until she starts school.

All three of my children have/do love attending here, always come out happy too and talk about their days. The staff are amazing, always welcoming, friendly and approachable, should there be any queries. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a 5-star childcare provider within the area.

My daughter has been going for over a year now and she loves it. The staff are great and very helpful but also listen and ask if there's anything they need to know that could help your child while being in their care as every child is different and learn on different levels. I also like the fact that
they ring you on parents evening and ask if there's anything you can think of as a learning topic they can use in the classroom. My daughter loved her last year carers and hope that she's the same this year.

My son absolutely loves his 2 days a week at the nursery and always comes home with a big smile on his face and wanting to tell us about his day (the best a 20-month-old can!) The staff are friendly, welcoming and have good relationships with our children. Always asking how they are at drop off and give feedback at pick up. Genuinely care and are happy to help and talk to you if you have any concerns or questions. My only negative comment would be the garden floor is really
dirty due to tarmac. I would never put my child in their best trainers or clothes as they generally come back black!

Our daughter has made huge strides, not only in her confidence and social ability, but in her learning too. Her vocabulary seems to have improved practically overnight and she is able to hold a conversation as well as most primary school children.
She loves going to nursery and playing with her friends
and when we pick her up, she's always excited to tell us about her day. We couldn't ask for any more than that.

My daughter has been going to this nursery since she was 10 months old (now 28 months). She loves it and settled so well. All of the staff are lovely, very approachable and genuinely care for all of the children there. It’s a lovely setting and they always do plenty of different activities throughout

We have used this nursery for over 5-years now; my daughter went there before leaving for primary school, our son now attends the nursery. Very accommodating in all aspects. The nursery and its staff are fantastic. Our child has settled really well and loves attending. She has formed good relationships with the staff in her room who are brilliant with her. We have a two-year-old in this nursery currently and our older daughter has also been through this nursery. Both our girls have been at the nursery from age six months so we are able to give a comprehensive review of the nursery service from the baby room through to pre-school. We find the staff trustworthy,
personable and caring. They are able to very quickly forge a bond with the children and engage them with wide-ranging activities daily, providing good opportunities for learning and development.

I took over as manager in January 2024 after 8 years as Deputy Manager. I hold a BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies and a Certificate in Early Years Practice.


I'm hugely passionate about providing a nursery environment that supports the emotional well-being of all children in turn allows them to thrive in all areas of their development.
