Partou Ladybirds Day Nursery & Pre-School is set within a characterful grade II listed building at St Oswald's Centre in the heart of Methley, providing high-quality early years childcare and education for families across Methley and the wider Leeds community. A large off-road car park makes drop-offs and pick-ups straightforward, and the nursery was named one of the Top 20 nurseries in Yorkshire and Humber 2025, achieving a perfect score based entirely on family reviews.

The long-standing team is at the heart of what makes Partou Ladybirds so special. The Nursery Manager has been here for over 20 years, the deputy team for over 10, and most staff for at least five years. That stability means children are cared for by people who know them deeply, and families build relationships with a team they trust completely.

Five outdoor spaces across the nursery ensure every age group has a garden designed for their stage of development, including a forest-style garden for pre-school children to climb trees, explore nature and build physical confidence and resilience. A much-loved sensory room supports emotional regulation, sensory exploration and wellbeing across all age groups.

Enrichment activities include weekly Striker Tots sessions, music sessions across all rooms and the use of BSL in daily life, with children performing their Christmas concert in BSL at the neighbouring St Oswald's Church. Regular visits to a local care home build empathy, social confidence and intergenerational connection.

If you are looking for a nursery in Methley with an exceptional team, fantastic outdoor space and strong community ties, Partou Ladybirds Day Nursery & Pre-School is well worth a visit.

Our children love coming to nursery so much so sometimes they don't want to come home and that is the best things about it. The wrap around care with the local school is brilliant but I think the fact that each child is known by every member of staff is fantastic and they know they can ask anyone for
help. The outside space is great and was part of the reason we chose Ladybirds. The children love playing in all weathers.

My son loves going to nursery. He has developed friendships with many of the other children and I fully believe that it is the staff at Ladybirds that help these friendships to grow and develop. My son's social skills are fantastic, again I believe the staff work hard to bond with the children, understand
them and then support them. I can ask my son at the end of each day what he's been doing and I can tell he's been learning all day long.

Both of my daughters have attended Ladybirds and we've always been very happy with the care they have received. It's very hard to send off your baby to be cared for by someone relatively unknown but the staff, always helped greatly with this. We get daily updates on what they do and what they eat and
it always sounds delicious or fun. The staff form great relationships with the children and I've been impressed with how they include us as parents and the wider family too.

Love this nursery. My daughter thoroughly enjoys going. All of the staff are really helpful, informative and great with all of the children. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds.
The activities are educational and varied. I sometimes wonder how you manage to cram so much into one day!
Thank you
to all of the staff, you have made my daughter very welcome, settled and comfortable.

Our daughter has attended Ladybirds since she was 11 months old and she absolutely loves it! The staff are fantastic and so friendly, our daughter regularly talks about them all outside of nursery time. She's now 2-1/2 and has really come on leaps and bounds and I know Ladybirds is part of the positive
influences around her. I think we will all be very sad when it's time to start school!
Keep up the great work everyone.

My son has been going to Ladybirds for one day a week for a year now since he was 18 months old. He absolutely loves it. He doesn't have to go to nursery as he has grandparents that could look after him but his friends attend and their mums told me how good it was. It has been great for his development
socially, educationally and widening his diet.

My son has numerous allergies and they have managed these very well. I have friends where their child is given bread and butter while other children enjoy a wholesome meal. My son never receives an inadequate alternative because they simply all eat the same. The room he is in is allergen free all day so he doesn't feel excluded or different.

They play out as much as possible in the big gardens and he sleeps as well at nursery as he does at home. The staff are all lovely, kind and gentle and you can see they genuinely care for each child. If they have the smallest of query, they call you so i feel they're keen on consistency which is important for children. You also receive a daily sheet telling you what they've eaten, toilet matters, when they slept and what they've done. They have lots of toys and themed areas indoors. My son is a fussy eater but he enjoys all the food at nursery. Having the cameras to log onto to watch your child is great and a big comfort especially in the early days.

I feel extremely happy with the nursery and i'm confident he is getting the very best care with lots of cuddles. I travel a 12 mile round trip in the wrong direction to work when there are ones much closer because I like the nursery so much. My second child is starting the nursery on September 2016.

My grandson is very happy at the nursery and they cater for the needs of the individual children. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to take part in various social gatherings and they hold grandparent days.

Ladybirds is a fabulous place for children to develop a wide variety of skills! The staff are always kind and helpful going above and beyond the norm ensuring the very best care for the children and brilliant support and security for their parents.
You are always met with a smile at the door. Communication
is very good, handover notes are given at the end of the day which ensures you never miss anything. My son loves his nursery worker and it's easy to see why, far more exciting than being at home.
I would highly recommend this nursery to my friends.

We've used this nursery since May 2014. It's a great local nursery who try hard to make the kids feel at ease and parents going there. For example, yesterday my 2.5 year old learnt the recovery position and how to call 999 when in danger. This nursery do lots of fun seasonal activities all year round.
Lots for the community and local charities and make us feel like part of the family.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.958 for Partou Ladybirds Day Nursery & Pre-school is calculated as follows: ( (463 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 480 Ratings = 4.958
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Ladybirds Day Nursery & Pre-school is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
