The Garden House is a long established nursery in a lovely setting in Fulwood. Staff are well qualified and experienced with many graduates and high ratios. All are qualified first aiders and naturally DBS/health checked.

A homely atmosphere fosters children's confidence and good school links ensure smooth transitions. Children make outstanding progress with a fun and educational curriculum including many interesting and unusual activities such as unique infant sports coaching, language/music groups, Mini Movez classes, Zoolab and Woodland Adventures.

With imaginative outside areas children are helped to make sense of the world around them. Parents benefit from free settling-in sessions, emailed daily reports alongside 'stay and play' weeks.

Enhanced staff training enables The Garden House Nursery to welcome all.

We are extremely pleased with The Garden House Nursery. Our son has always enjoyed going here and we recommend this nursery to everyone with children. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to get to know each individual child in the nursery. The children frequently do new activities and
have themed weeks. I am really grateful for the love and attention each member of the team pays in looking after my son and have never had any concerns about leaving him in nursery.

Overall a fantastic nursery. We feel very fortunate to have this on our doorstep and couldn't be happier with the care they provide. Our daughter's development is coming on leaps and bounds which we know has lots to do with the variety of activities Garden House provides. This is, without doubt, a 5-star
nursery, but if we could change one thing it would be that they had the option of providing meals. Then it would be perfect!

My 2-year-old son has been at Garden House for two months and it's a fantastic nursery! He skips into the building with zero apprehension and I leave feeling 100% happy and comfortable. The staff are calm, warm, organised and very caring. Every time I walk into the room, the kids are having lots of
fun, but it never feels chaotic or out-of-control. The nursery is literally a peaceful place, which really suits my son. I have seen him develop suddenly in many obvious ways: he uses his fork and spoon more effectively, negotiates the stairs better, gets a kick out of tidying up (yes, really!), is suddenly interested in drawing, knows lots of action songs and has suddenly got better at puzzles. The staff are really nurturing him on lots of levels. You have to provide your own packed lunch, but I personally like this. It's not much work and I know that he is getting nutritious food which he will enjoy. He always has a good nap at the nursery and comes home very happy! What's not to love?!

We are really pleased with The Garden House Nursery. We have 2 children there in different classes and they both love it. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We love the activities the kids get to do such as Spanish club, outside activities coming into nursery and Christophers Robbins
getting the children prepared for starting school. Our children are both learning new things at nursery and having fun. We haven't had any problems and any requests we have made have been met. We would highly recommend The Garden House Nursery.

My grandchild has been attending the Garden House Nursery for 4 years now and he has loved every day since starting. I collect him and drop him off daily as my daughter works long hours, therefore I see that he is happy, well loved and cared for by the friendly and enthusiastic staff. My daughter is
expecting her second child who will be attending the nursery also.


We have recommended this nursery to a lot of our family and friends who also attend the setting and are just as happy with the care the children are given here. It is also a well run and very clean environment, my grandson particularly enjoys all the added activities such as zoo lab where he has experienced all different animals and mini moves which he really enjoys and the tennis lessons which is one of my grandson's favourites.

Our daughter started in Pooh's and Roo's at The Garden House Nursery when she was eight months old. Now she is nearly four and very proud to be in Christopher Robins and one of the big girls at the nursery. In that time the staff at The Garden House Nursery have helped her progress from being a shy,
quiet child into an outgoing little girl who can't wait to get to the nursery and see her friends and teachers.


The staff provide a safe, happy environment where children thrive. They always have time to give a cuddle or offer comfort if our daughter is feeling a little unsure. I would recommend The Garden House Nursery to anyone looking for fantastic childcare. Thank you for taking care of my precious little girl so well.

They continue to offer amazing care to all the children! I thought that my children would have been a little sad to return to nursery after seeing so much of us over the Christmas break - they didn't look back. The Garden House is consistently welcoming and friendly. All the children seem settled and
staff are always willing to help.

Before deciding on The Garden House Nursery we visited a number of nurseries in the area, most with "Outstanding" Ofsted ratings, but Garden House was a cut above the rest.


What makes it so good? The nursery is owned and managed by the owner since the nursery opened, some 20 odd years ago. She is

there every day and it is obvious that she cares deeply for the children in her care. The staff all appear to genuinely want to be there. They are so engaged with the children and both staff and children always seem to have so much fun. It is a professional yet caring environment, which our daughter absolutely loves.


What I found when choosing a nursery is that it comes down to the "feel" of the place. The Garden House feels like a home from home. The rooms are cosy, clean and colourful. The outside areas include a play ground, growing garden and a woodland walk which is perfect for learning about nature and critter spotting.


I would not hesitate to recommend The Garden House to any prospective parents.

After an extensive search in Sheffield and London, I chose The Garden House Nursery. The best thing about Garden House Nursery is the presence and involvement of the owner and the management.
My son came from a different country but the management made this transition very easy for him by asking me
about every small detail. The staff are highly qualified, approachable, and helpful. Garden House Nursery is like a family, everyone is so involved and connected. I used to get every detail of his daily activities; the staff makes sure that the children eat their meals. Children at the nursery are confident, very well behaved and independent. The nursery is clean, safe, and well equipped.
My son got very attached to one of the teachers at the nursery and she is the best teacher I have ever known. She made a new theme to teach children every week, such as different professions, weather and festivals. Children cook, bake and do a lot of activities.
I would sum up by saying the BEST NURSERY.

Both my boys have attended The Garden House nursery from the ages of 12 months until they leave at 4yrs. Both have had fantastic journeys at the nursery making new friends and learning new skills. The team of staff are so helpful and understanding that sometimes all your child wants is a cuddle.
The
range of activities offered and the experiences they have had have been fantastic.
My youngest is just about to finish at the nursery and I have to say I think I am the one who is going to miss seeing the friendly welcoming smiles of all the staff.
A fantastic nursery I would recommend to anyone.

My son has been going to The Garden House for 4 months now and I can honestly say it has gone far beyond my expectations.
Right from the start, the staff have been warm, welcoming, helpful and friendly. My son has never (long may it continue) cried during drop off and been just as happy every evening
when I've picked him up
I can't believe how much he has come in 4 months. They know him so well already and are always helping him to learn new things and develop new skills.
Thank you to everyone for the happiest start to nursery life that I could have hoped for.

Our daughter started attending this nursery on 4th July 2017 and we have been really impressed from day one with the high standards of the provision. The sessions are well structured, interesting and challenging the kids. There are well-structured activities throughout the day (even when I pick my daughter
up at 6 pm) The nursery is very clean, tidy and well maintained. The staff always look happy and you can tell they love the place and the kids. Our girl loves going there and we are really happy that finally, we found a nursery that is a home away from home for her.

My son had been attending The Garden House Nursery before he started school last September. My daughter has been at the nursery since she was a little toddler and is spending her last few weeks there before starting school. I strongly feel that the nursery has provided an excellent environment for them
to play at and to learn. They both made good progress in reading and maths at the nursery. The most important thing to a working parent, to me, is that I could see all the nursery staff are very passionate about what they do. They have an enormous amount of patience and care to the children. My children really enjoyed their time at the nursery and I am grateful to the teachers.

This is my second child to attend the nursery and the standard of care is still as high. My child is happy and well-settled thanks to the staff. She comes home with more knowledge every day. Whilst at nursery, she loves to spend time in the varied outdoor spaces, which have given her confidence in her
developing physical skills. He bonds with the staff and children are excellent. I couldn't have chosen a better nursery for my children.

The Garden House Nursery is a very welcoming and friendly nursery, sadly my child will be leaving in September to go to school. However, I could not have wished for a better start in life for him. We chose The Garden House 4 years ago now and knew it was the perfect nursery for our son to begin his
adventures. Here he has learnt to count to 100, write his name (as well as his friends and ours), he has made some great friendships both with the children and the excellent staff and he has learnt Spanish and French in the weekly language clubs. He has really enjoyed the tennis sessions at the nursery and is wanting to continue doing this at school. This nursery was by far one of the best nurseries we looked at when we were looking around for the perfect location for our child. We would like to thank all the team at The Garden House for all their support and helping our son become the clever, friendly boy he is today.

The Garden House is a very structured, friendly and caring nursery. All of the staff have a genuine interest in each child. Love and affection is given to the children, there is no shortage of cuddles and it is a safe and homely environment. Educational standards are excellent and the transition from
baby to school ready is well handled and organised. Our child has been very happy for three years making great friends with children and staff, learning Spanish and Tennis and becoming a confident polite and happy young bot in the process. We have never had any doubts this was the right nursery for us. (Only criticism is you have to provide your own lunch and dinner)

Both my children (3.5 yr old and 18 month old) have attended here since they were 12 months. The staff and atmosphere are warm and inviting, with many long term staff. I have always felt comfortable leaving my children here. My 3.5-year-old is in the oldest room and his letters and numbers have really
come on here, as well as plenty of fun activities. The only downside for me is they don't provide lunch and tea - you have to take your own. However, this isn't a big issue compared to how happy we are overall with the nursery. We also enjoy getting a daily email for each child telling us what they've been up to every day - I thought all nurseries did this but apparently not. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to my friends.

I have three children of 11, 5 and 2 and they have all attended the Garden House Nursey. My 2 year old is still there. I cannot speak highly enough of this nursery. In my opinion, it's the best nursery in Sheffield - a happy, caring and safe environment for babies and older ones. All aspects of the
nursery are run with a high degree of professionalism and care. One of my favourite aspects of the Garden House is that staff turnover is minimal which means that many of the nursery nurses who cared for my now 11 year old are also caring for my 2 year old! On entering the nursery, you will never fail to be greeted by a friendly smile and hello to both you and your child. The baby/child's happiness and welfare is paramount and staff are always available to discuss any concerns and there to cuddle any little person who has woken up on the wrong side of the bed! I would recommend it to any family wanting to be 100% sure that they are leaving their children in caring, happy and safe hands.

Finding the right nursery is a big deal for any parent, but from the very first visit toThe Garden House Nursery we were able to put our worries aside. The quality and competency of all who work there is apparent from the offset and it is clear that all aspects of our son's care - from the educational
to safety and security - had been well thought out and implemented.


However, what really sets The Garden House apart is their amazing and caring staff (of whom I cannot speak highly enough), and the way they've handled the additional reassurance and special needs our son requires. When our son first started and was extremely attached to one particular carer, she extended her hours so she could stay with him and reassure him until he was more settled. They are always proactive in initiating strategies to help meet our son's needs and also very quick to implement those suggested by other authorities. In short, they are fantastic and I would whole-heartedly recommend them to any parent.

My daughter has attended for the last 15 months and thoroughly enjoys it. The staff are friendly and kind, and genuinely show care and affection for the kids. My daughter always gets a cuddle when she arrives. She struggled to settle at first because she'd never been cared for by anyone else, and is
very shy. The staff were brilliant at showing her care and support while she made the transition, and she always ended up having a great day. Going back to work and leaving my one year old daughter was hard, but their approach made it so much easier, and now she always arrives happy and excited. The activities are always varied and fun. The management team are really helpful and supportive too, and a pleasure to deal with. We're leaving next month, and I'm really sad to be going. We're only leaving because the nursery has recently become difficult to travel to. I wish we could stay! Garden House may work out more expensive than other nurseries, but you get what you pay for.

Hello, my name is Christina. I am originally from Leicester but have lived in Holmfirth for over 25 years. I am married with 3 boys and a cat. I have just become a nanna to a little boy, so I am surrounded by boys!
I have been working with children for over 20 years, firstly as a nurse in A&E, as a childminder for over 9 years, as an Early Years Tutor going around nurseries in the north of the country teaching apprentices and also as a manager in 2 nurseries. I have my degree in Early Years and also my Early Years Professional Status (now known as Early Years Teacher). I am a qualified first aider and also hold my mental health first aid qualification.
I love working with children, as it is amazing to help support and see the fantastic little people they become, all with different personalities, imaginations and strengths.
I love Leicester City Football Club, spending time with my family and friends, listening to a wide range of music, Lego, collecting Piggin ornaments, going to museums and art galleries, Art Deco/Nouveau especially Charles Rennie Mackintosh, being with animals and being outside. Oh, and I am a huge Harry Potter fan as well!!
