Partou Hilltops Day Nursery & Pre-school in Chorley provides exceptional care and education for babies and children up to the age of five. Based in a beautiful Georgian property, the setting has an acre of outdoor space where children are encouraged to play every day.

Children at Hilltops enjoy a range of exciting learning activities. The team supports children in their development and helps to prepare them for school, involving parents by providing access to an online learning journal.

The experienced and qualified team at Hilltops holds paediatric first aid certificates and safeguarding training and many are qualified to Level 3 or above. All team members have undergone enhanced DBS checks and the nursery's CCTV and secure key fob door entry system provides added security and peace of mind.

The nursery offers funded childcare places to eligible families, and fees include milk, nappies, wipes, sun cream and healthy meals and snacks from the nursery menu.

My son started at The Hollies earlier this month. I was impressed at the range of activities available for the children on a daily basis when being shown around the nursery. There is plenty of space for the children to be playing, and they also get time to play outside every day, provisions are made
for poorer weather conditions. The meals are freshly made on-site, and there is a wide variety on the menu. All the staff I have met are very friendly, approachable and seem to love their job. The manager is particularly warm and welcoming. I know if I have any questions/concerns of my own, I am able to ring her and speak to her about anything. My son is still adjusting to life in the nursery but seems to be having a blast while he is there, engaging with adults outside his family and the other children. His physical and mental development has come on in leaps and bounds since starting at The Hollies.

I'm so happy we found The Hollies for my daughter - she started around 18 months ago in preschool and has thrived there. Her confidence has come on in leaps and bounds which is every credit to the staff who care for her, all of them are lovely. They have handled the Covid situation so well in ensuring
our children are well cared for and safe. They do so much to keep things 'normal' in these strange times. The food is perfectly balanced - healthy and nutritious, with the odd treat and they encourage outdoor play, whenever possible. I don't have any negative comments to add and I'll be sad when she leaves for school. It would be lovely to see some more pictures on the parents' app as it's so nice to see how much my daughter enjoys her time there.

Fantastic pre-school. My daughter absolutely loves it here, she will not want to go next year. Can not recommend enough! The staff are fabulous. The staff who now runs the Chorley on is a real credit, but everyone at the Chorley Hollies are so kind helpful and caring.

Our boys are very happy at the nursery and we really appreciate the extra lengths staff go to on their behalves to make their days as fun and educational as possible. They particularly enjoy all the arts and crafts activities.

Both my daughters have been at Hollies, one is still there and one left in September to start school, both girls really enjoyed it. We always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, and always put the children’s safety and needs first. I would definitely recommend the Hollies nursery as a great

Both my children attended The Hollies from being the age of 8 months old, they both settled in really well and throughout each room, they were always well cared for and their needs were always met. They both formed very positive bonds with their key workers and all of the staff at the nursery. All staff
were always very friendly and are always available to talk to. The Hollies has a very homely feel to it and I always felt reassured when leaving them in the care of others.

My son loves this nursery and as a parent, I couldn’t be happier with the progress he had made and the effort the team goes to, to make sure he’s developing well and ultimately having a great time. I was really nervous when he first joined, as my son is my first child and I’ve never left him so long
before. Now he can’t wait to get there as he has so much fun and I am confident that he’s being well looked after. The nursery doesn’t hesitate to get in touch if they need to and you can ring at any time to put your mind at rest. Would highly recommend the nursery to anyone considering.

Our daughter started nursery in August this year, she only goes once a week, but despite this, she has settled in really well. It took her a few weeks to get used to going, but the staff at The Hollies have really helped to make sure that she settled as fast as she could. She's not yet old enough to
tell us stories about what she has done throughout her day, but it's lovely to see her walk into the nursery when we drop her off with a big smile on her face, waving us goodbye. The only thing I would love to see more of is possibly photo updates throughout the day via WhatsApp as I know other friends' child's nurseries provide, but I understand that there is a learning book that can be accessed.

My daughter is very happy at the nursery and the staff are lovely. Thank you. I would recommend The Hollies to anybody. One thing I would like to change is for the children to be taken out on walks in the wood ect. I was told this would happen with the old manager and it hasn’t happened.

The staff have made my daughter feel welcome and she loves going to nursery. My daughter does a variety of activities to help her continue her learning and development. Fantastic nursery! Both my children attend this nursery and love going, I don't have any issues dropping them off they practically run through the door. They both enjoy doing lots of different activities such as drawing, using different objects, painting, making obstacle courses outside, baking cakes
etc.
The nursery also has extra classes that your child can attend such as learning French, dancing, swimming etc.
I would highly recommend this nursery. All the staff are fantastic and you can really tell they love their job and being with the children and you can tell the children love being with them.

The staff at The Hollies are so welcoming and friendly, our daughter settled in quickly and always looks forward to the days she goes to nursery. Communication with parents is excellent and the range of activities available to children is apparent each morning when dropping them off. Parents are informed
of the activities their child has completed at the end of each day. Aside from developing all-round skills, it is clear to us that our daughter has bonded with the staff at nursery and feels secure there, which was paramount to us when choosing a setting.

I cannot thank the staff of the Hollies enough. My little boy started at 2.2 years old.
He had never been to nursery before or spent large periods of time away from Mummy.
The Hollies helped him to feel comfortable and trust new people.
His confidence has grown each week and he is now settling
into Nursery life.
The Hollies also picked up on his speech delay and have gone above and beyond to help. Providing parental support and fun task and games to help my son.
He is now using many worlds and beginning to form small sentences.
The manager always has time to talk through any worries or concerns we may have.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 9 months old. When she started she was very shy and clingy and shed a few tears when dropped off. The Hollies nursery staff were so comforting to her that now when we drop her off she’s really happy and joins in with the rest of the children
straight away. The staff are fantastic and encourage development and we are thrilled with how she is coming along.

My daughter is 2.5 years old and has been going to the Hollies for 18 months. The staff are friendly and warm, the meals are home cooked by the on site chef and the facilities are so varied, including a lovely outdoor area with animals. My daughter loves feeding the goats and running around the outdoor
space.


The Hollies has provided my daughter with a safe and fun environment to learn and play, coming on leaps and bounds with the hard work of the staff. I have found the new manager both professional and hands on, making herself known to parents and welcoming feedback. I feel in the loop as a parent with regards to how my daughters day has been and the new online learning journey gives me an opportunity to see photographs and updates on how she is meeting her milestones and socialising with her peers. Would highly recommend.

I was very apprehensive about my daughter starting nursery and really didn’t want to leave her. I visited many nurseries before choosing the Hollies. I instantly knew my daughter would be safe, happy and well looked after by the team at the Hollies. The location is fabulous, my daughter loves playing
outside and feeding the animals! We are well informed by management and staff and the children seem happy and to have a great relationship with staff. We love the variety of home cooked food available to the children and know our daughter is receiving a balanced diet at nursery. I couldn’t be happier with our choice of nursery and would highly recommend.

My daughter started the Hollies at 9 months old and it’s the best decision I made. Since day one the staff have been friendly, supportive and caring. The management team are visible and approachable at all times. It’s set in a lovely location with great facilities.

Jo Hindle

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2023

Hi, my name is Jo and I have recently joined Hilltops as Nursery Manager following five years of experience at another Just Childcare setting.


I’ve worked in nurseries ever since leaving school, gaining my level two and three qualifications whilst studying at college. In more recent years, I have worked to broaden my experience in a trainee manager role whilst also working in residential homes.


I really enjoy working in Early Years and believe it’s such an important stage in a child’s life. Watching a child grow and develop knowing I have helped and supported them on their journey is extremely rewarding.


Away from work, I am the proud mum of a four-year-old boy and love spending my weekends going on trips, camping, or taking hikes with my family. I am always eager to adopt elements of this into my nurseries as I feel that outdoor and physical education is fundamental to a child’s development.


I look forward to meeting parents and discussing more about our nursery setting.
