Partou Hilltops Day Nursery & Pre-school in Chorley provides exceptional care and education for babies and children up to the age of five. Based in a beautiful Georgian property, the setting has an acre of outdoor space where children are encouraged to play every day.

Children at Hilltops enjoy a range of exciting learning activities. The team supports children in their development and helps to prepare them for school, involving parents by providing access to an online learning journal.

The experienced and qualified team at Hilltops holds paediatric first aid certificates and safeguarding training and many are qualified to Level 3 or above. All team members have undergone enhanced DBS checks and the nursery's CCTV and secure key fob door entry system provides added security and peace of mind.

The nursery offers funded childcare places to eligible families, and fees include milk, nappies, wipes, sun cream and healthy meals and snacks from the nursery menu.

My child has been going to Hilltops since August and the nursery has been absolutely brilliant. Firstly I rang around a few looking for some flexibility, due to working shifts. Many other nurseries offered fixed days only, but Hilltops was able to offer flexible days which is brilliant.
The nursery
started with taster sessions, and they were more than happy to build this up across a month until we got to a point where my child was settled.
The nursery is always really friendly and helpful when I speak to them and my child loves it. They do plenty of varied activities, all of which you can see on the parent zone app.
Staff are very nurturing and my child is picking up so many important social skills being around all the other children.
I'd highly recommend Hilltops, I'm very happy with it.

I have been so impressed with Hilltops Nursery since the day we signed our little boy up. The rooms are always set up with different activities each day and my little boy is always so excited to go inside and play. They have always worked around my own home routines to the best of their ability. They
adapted the foods given to our little boy when he was younger and still will do so if he refuses to eat. He has come so far since attending and the chatterbox he is shows how much he is learning on a daily basis. Absolutely fantastic nursery and would recommend to anyone.

Both my children have and one still does attend Hilltops and they both just love it. They are constantly doing new activities, creating, having adventures and exploring the outdoors. They have formed such lovely bonds with all the workers at the nursery. The nursery is lovely and creates such a nice
environment for children to grow in and feel safe.

Our daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 9 months old. She is smashing milestones and I firmly believe the staff at Hilltops have a huge part in this. The nursery has a wonderful outdoor space. It is clean and well-kept. Our daughter absolutely loves it here and she adores the staff.
She always has a story to tell about her day, and she looks forward to going in the morning.

I have a 4-year-old son who has autism non-verbal, and we had a difficult few months, he has eczema as well, the staff and management have been so supportive to me and helped me finally get better. He's now back to the hours he should be doing, great respect to them, many thanks.

My three-year-old has been at the nursery from being 9 months old. There had been a turnaround of staff and management. The new current manager is absolutely fantastic, she has been so proactive, making changes to improve the standards. The staff from the cook, and apprentice, right up to management,
are wonderful with my son and he loves going, he treats them like his second family. He has achieved all his developmental goals with the support from the staff and his key worker. The communication is excellent, I feel like I don’t have to ask questions as full verbal updates are provided regularly and daily updates/reviews and observations with pictures are uploaded on the app. My 8-month-old is currently having taster days and is absolutely loving it. The staff have relieved all my anxiety and worries with leaving him for the first time.

Since the start of a new manager, there have been no changes to staff, apart from additions, which is always a good sign! All the girls there my daughter adores and she has some fab little friends, new activities and toys, learning and creative.
I'm also a massive fan of the new app that The Hollies
Private Day Nursery and Pre-school have started using. Don't change girls, you're doing fab!

I have had an excellent experience with the nursery, they have been very accommodating with my child's settles and have been very reassuring throughout the process. My son has been going to The Hollies for two years now and goes for two mornings a week. He is sometimes upset and does not want to be parted with me, but I always know that I can call and check up on him and when I do ring up they say he was fine as soon as I walked out of the door! They go outside
a lot and play which my son loves, and I know that there’s always attentive staff there to give him the attention he needs/wants if he wants some quiet time to read or play independently.
I don’t know if the app is still used in nursery but I would like use of the app more and to be able to look at content on there from his day, I appreciate that will use up staff time to add content that is spent with the children.
Overall, I am happy with the nursery and when he starts to go there for the 30 hours in January I hope that there will be a bit more carer/parent feedback, I’m not sure if there is a parent's evening or a drop-in that can be utilised just to check up on progress.

We moved from a different day nursery which was appalling to be quite honest and as a parent who was worried every day about the protection of their child inside a nursery and then to come to The Hollies and all of those worries went. I have full trust in this nursery and they haven't yet disappointed.
My child has developed rapidly since starting at The Hollies, as well as he always seems to have a smile on his face every day, he's tired when he comes home so you know full well his day has been jam-packed with activities and that he's constantly learning. Fast response to let us in, no waiting around especially in the morning when you have work for 8 am. Really friendly staff as well and the manager is really friendly and gets stuck in when needs must. Overall very, very happy about this nursery and would recommend it to anyone.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. My 10-month-old gets really excited about the days that she's in and has progressed already so much since she started 3 months ago.
The only drawback I would say is staffing which has been acknowledged.
With regard to my daughter's growth and development,
the team are proactive in working with us to find out routines, likes and dislikes and applying them to her time at the nursery which makes home life easier too.
Have already recommended to friends!

My little boy goes to this nursery and honestly, I cannot say a bad word about it. The staff are lovely and friendly, my boy loves the staff and always comes home talking about them full of joy! Always arrive at pick up to a smiling child. Has a great bond with keyworker. I have recommended this nursery to friends and two of my children have attended. We both work full time so our daughter is in from 8am until 5.30pm and her development has been amazing.

My child has attended this nursery for a number of years and absolutely loves it. He is so happy to attend every morning which is wonderful to see. The staff are very caring and know my child very well. They do a variety of activities every week and try and focus on my child's interests where possible.
A form comes home asking about new interests and activities at home so that they are up to date with all this information. Every day when I pick him up, his key worker tells me all that he has been up to, eaten and created. It always sounds like lots of fun. My child has a food allergy which is always catered for. If staff are unsure about something, they will contact me to ask, which I think is wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend the nursery to anyone.

Our son has been at The Hollies since he was 9-months-old and he's now four and a half and preparing for school. We chose the nursery for its large bright rooms and great outdoor space. The playground has now been renovated, and our son tells us it's great. The large field at the side they go on is
also a great benefit in our eyes. We have seen some staff changes in our time, but our son has always loved going, and they always seem to have had high standards with recruitment. The current manager and her team are wonderful and have been great throughout the challenges of the last year. They are preparing him for school very well, and I have no concerns at all that he won't be ready. The Hollies also have its own cook also a benefit as everything is cooked fresh on site. Thanks to all the staff team.

Both of my little girls have attended The Hollies; one is still currently there, and the other left for school. I viewed so many nurseries locally and was drawn to this one. I loved the location, loved the fact they have key fobs for parents to just let themselves in, loved the setting and the outdoor
space. Both of my girls have absolutely thrived at the nursery, and it is solely down to the staff and their dedication to the children. I have never had any problem in the three years my girls have attended, and when my daughter leaves next year for school, I’m going to be completely gutted! There are many other opportunities at the nursery (prior to covid) which I loved, Spanish lessons, dance lessons, swimming lessons. Whenever I have needed to speak to someone about anything whether it be a bill or if my daughter is okay, the management is more than happy to assist with this and go above and beyond to ensure anything is dealt with. I could not recommend this nursery enough - it’s amazing!

My daughter started at The Hollies in September. The staff were amazing with her as a new baby and me as a very nervous mummy. She loves going now and has made some very strong bonds with the nursery staff in her room.
The activities are always great and linked to her interests.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2023

Hi, my name is Jo and I have recently joined Hilltops as Nursery Manager following five years of experience at another Just Childcare setting.


I’ve worked in nurseries ever since leaving school, gaining my level two and three qualifications whilst studying at college. In more recent years, I have worked to broaden my experience in a trainee manager role whilst also working in residential homes.


I really enjoy working in Early Years and believe it’s such an important stage in a child’s life. Watching a child grow and develop knowing I have helped and supported them on their journey is extremely rewarding.


Away from work, I am the proud mum of a four-year-old boy and love spending my weekends going on trips, camping, or taking hikes with my family. I am always eager to adopt elements of this into my nurseries as I feel that outdoor and physical education is fundamental to a child’s development.


I look forward to meeting parents and discussing more about our nursery setting.
