Partou Park Wood Day Nursery & Forest School in Bidston provides exceptional care for babies and children up to the age of five.

Located on the edge of the natural woodland environment of Bidston Hill Country Park, the nursery embraces its surroundings with exciting outdoor areas including obstacle courses, sensory gardens, planting patches and its very own nursery beehive! Children love taking part in the settings Forest School sessions with pretend campfires, gardening sessions and environmental exploration proving huge favourites.

Children at the nursery play and learn in spacious and well-resourced playrooms filled with natural light as well as having access to an amazing woodland-themed soft playroom! Parents can keep track of their child’s activities and development using the nursery’s online learning journal.

Delicious, nutritious meals and snacks are freshly prepared in the nursery kitchen, providing children with a balanced diet bursting with fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish.

This is my second child that has attended Park Wood Nursery. The team at the nursery have been fantastic with both my children. They communicate to me her day at the end of each day as well as on the parent app online. The team always seem to be doing some activity with the kids which is great for their
development and we get regular updates on how our girl is developing in the nursery. Thank you for your great work!

I moved my daughter here after she never settled in her previous nursery. I absolutely love Park Wood and all the staff. My daughter has come on so much and settled in really well. I will also be looking to put my son in as soon as he turns 2. I couldn't recommend the nursery enough.

I really struggled to find a nursery I was happy with, Park Wood have been brilliant. My daughter started at 9 months old and has been there for a year now. It’s been a really difficult time for everyone but I feel that Park Wood has dealt with covid well and kept in communication.

Returning to work full time finding somewhere my son would be happy and flourish was vital. Park Wood was a perfect choice and created a homely environment where he received lots of care and attention. His development and growth has been nurtured and all the staff are wonderful - there is a real consistency
which is great for the children. The outside facilities are great and the children are able to explore and be outside often which is so important.
I want to thank everyone at Park Wood for being such an important part of my son's early years. I'm so glad we chose this nursery.

My son loves going to nursery he has a great bond with the girls who look after him and I know he is 100% in safe hands when I drop him off. He has come on so much attending nursery with his speech and learning different things. Cannot recommend this nursery enough so glad I chose it for my son

I struggled massively with going back to work due to having to consider external childcare, I didn’t want to leave my daughter with anyone other than family. We done some research and then went to visit Park Wood, we immediately felt comfortable, it has such a homely atmosphere, and your worries are
quickly put at ease. No question was too silly, and the staff have always been lovely, I can tell my little girl loves it because she runs in. The food menu is great, and her meat-free diet is accommodated. I would highly recommend Park Wood day nursery.

This is our second child attending Park Wood Private Day Nursery we can not fault it, all the staff are absolutely fantastic always a full update on what’s happened during the day. The food that is served is brilliant such a variety of food and some things I would never think of making so gives us some
ideas for home as well! Would definitely recommend this nursery.

Such a lovely nursery. The atmosphere is welcoming for both children and parents. The staff are very professional and approachable. My daughter settled in straight away and the feedback was consistent in letting me know how she was. Cannot fault this nursery.

Park Wood is a wonderful place and we are very happy with all aspects of nursery. Our daughter skips in every time and is a very happy and content child there. The nursery is very well resourced and has a bright and airy environment. The outdoor area and Forest School are amazing!


The staff are

all very friendly and welcoming and are extremely attentive. Our daughter has some complex medical conditions and the staff’s attention to her needs are second to none. They’re very aware and inform us of even the slightest observation that may be important.


Well done everyone at Park Wood. You will be missed after the Summer!

The staff at Park Wood are absolutely wonderful in their professionalism and care for the children. Their patience helping my daughter settle in and get used to her new environment was outstanding. The opportunities for outdoor play and exploration occurs daily and my daughter loves the new soft play
room. The environment is calm and there is a large variety of daily activities and toys for her to use and develop with. Each child is treated as an individual.

Our son has settled in really well at Park Wood. He clearly enjoys the outdoor playtime and the creative activities that the nursery put on.
The Owl Track website for parents to observe their childs progress is fantastic, we really enjoy having a sneak peak at what he's been up to. His key worker has
been brilliant in putting together a programme to support our son in any areas where he's behind for his age group. This early intervention has seen him really come on leap and bounds and catch up with his peers. Thank you!

Fantastic nursery. After viewing several nurseries in the area I decided on Park Wood Private Day Nursery as I got a very good feeling about the place. My little boy absolutely loves the place and gets so excited when he knows he is going there. I love the fact that it’s very outdoorsy as my son loves
getting out in the fresh air. Never had a problem and can’t recommend the place enough.

My daughter attended Park Wood 10 years ago and I couldn't fault the nursery it's setting or the staff.
I have now enrolled my toddler into Parkwood as I am more than satisfied with the continued level of provision.
All staff are friendly, approachable and are really interested in you and your child.
The
setting is not near busy roads but facing wonderful woodland settings which means cleaner air for when little ones outdoors and safe driving in and out of nursery premises.
I like the way the children move through the classes, each with its woodland theme name, and knowing that they're moving up with their friends and in age-appropriate classes is brilliant for their development.
The outdoor space is fantastic for the children and safe and secure.
I love to look at my child's diary each evening and get to know what they did, what they ate etc.
Most of all I think the staff fully support parents and children.

Lovely nursery. The staff are always polite and helpful. The lady in badgers is a firm favourite in our house, as my daughter's key worker she has been great. An update is always given at the end of the day and she always had time for any questions. My daughter has recently moved into the Owls and she’s
starting to settle in so a very big thank you to my daughter's keyworker and the staff in badgers for making her time in that room so wonderful. The nursery is well run and I am always kept updated. The food always looks good and my daughter is always happy when I collect her.

I was very picky when selecting a nursery for my son but I am 100% happy I chose Park Wood.
They make a big effort in ensuring my son is happy and enjoying himself. I love that he comes home with his artwork and tells me he has had a fun day.
The staff are very friendly and approachable, always going
the extra mile and it's nice I can ring or email anytime to ask a question to see how my son is getting on.
The food is all home cooked and shows a balanced diet.
The staff ensure different activities are offered to help with development and I really like that no matter the weather they are outside having fun!

We love this nursery, they've been so supportive of our son as he's grown and matured, he loves coming here and they support the family as a whole too making childcare something we didn't have to worry about when expecting another child. They are flexible with hours and days, the food is great, there's
always something interesting that the kids are learning about and fun activities arranged. Christmas was fantastic! Such a lovely welcoming place I recommend it all the time!!

Hello, I’m Mel Fitzpatrick and I am the Nursery Manager here at Park Wood.


I have a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and have worked with children for 10 years now, beginning as a newly qualified practitioner and working my way up to my current position.


I love to see the impact that I can have on the children’s development; and I pride myself upon the strong relationships that I have built with families over the years.


The team here at Park Wood are dedicated and passionate, always striving to provide the best care for our children. We are a family here at Park Wood, and work to ensure that all children, parents and carers feel part of that too.
