Partou Park Wood Day Nursery & Forest School in Bidston provides exceptional care for babies and children up to the age of five.

Located on the edge of the natural woodland environment of Bidston Hill Country Park, the nursery embraces its surroundings with exciting outdoor areas including obstacle courses, sensory gardens, planting patches and its very own nursery beehive! Children love taking part in the settings Forest School sessions with pretend campfires, gardening sessions and environmental exploration proving huge favourites.

Children at the nursery play and learn in spacious and well-resourced playrooms filled with natural light as well as having access to an amazing woodland-themed soft playroom! Parents can keep track of their child’s activities and development using the nursery’s online learning journal.

Delicious, nutritious meals and snacks are freshly prepared in the nursery kitchen, providing children with a balanced diet bursting with fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish.

My daughter has been attending nursery since August 2017. I found staff very helpful with her transition to nursery and me as a mother leaving her. Staff have been extremely helpful. My daughter is flourishing at nursery and enjoys going.

Park wood is a fantastic nursery with supportive caring, nurturing staff. Most members of the team have been at the nursery for a long while allowing good relationships to be built.
All the staff are professional, caring and very approachable. Both my sons have been and are currently extremely happy
at the nursery and have made fantastic progress and lovely friends.

My child has been attending Park Wood since he the age of 6 months. I couldn't ask for more supportive members of staff, I'm always fully informed at pickup of everything that has happened today including what he's eaten and what mood he's been in generally.
The food quality is fantastic with the menu
available each day in the room the child is in. Extremely friendly staff.
My child has developed so much since being there, he is always very happy when we pull up into the car park which reassures me leaving him there.
The outdoor space looks amazing I'm sure he will enjoy it more once he is up on his feet and able to explore the outdoors more.
The management is very patient and cannot do enough to help.

Our daughter has been cared for at Park Wood Private Day Nursery for the past year. From the first day, we turned up for an unannounced visit to today we have never failed to be impressed with the care and professionalism shown by the staff at Park Wood. It is always a difficult decision to make and
as a working Mummy, I feel confident that my daughter not only is safe and being well looked after but is having a great deal of fun with her new friends and the staff at park wood. The meals are always varied and nutritious and they have a very hard working kitchen team. We have seen our little lady develop great social skills and confidence whilst at Park Wood and this is down to the excellent care she receives. Thank you to all the team.

My little girl is now in the preschool and has attended since she was a baby. The nursery has a lovely homely feel and the staff are brilliant, I always hear so much about her day. I know she is so well cared for and learns so much every day. I really like the parent events that are regularly organised

One of my children is still in the nursery and my other one went, I can highly recommend. Excellent and caring staff, the hours' suit, the atmosphere is amazing and is also very clean. Both my children came along with their learning I always know my child is in the best hands.

I love this nursery, both of my children attend in the toddlers room and the pre school. The nursery is a home from home. All the staff are highly trustworthy and really care about the development wellbeing of all the children.

Fantastic nursery. Both our children are there and I cannot recommend highly enough. A lovely safe and caring environment with highly trained staff. Feel very relaxed leaving our children in their hands. Both children enjoy it.

My son has attended Park Wood for 3 years and is extremely happy there. The staff are friendly and very approachable. Any issues are quickly resolved which provides peace of mind as a parent. The outdoor space is excellent and there are always activities available throughout the year i.e. rugby tots,
charity events.
Food is cooked on the premises and there is a push for healthy eating.
My son has never not wanted to go to the nursery which speaks volumes about his experience there.

As soon as I visited Park Wood I knew my twins would be very happy here. I had visited many nurseries beforehand and there was always something that didn't feel right. I have not had a worry or been upset leaving the boys when I drop them off, as they are always happy going in. I also notice daily their
development and compared to my friends children how advanced they are coming along. I cannot fault the staff who are always welcoming and I am very proud my boys are in this nursery.

My son really enjoys coming to Park Wood and looks forward to his visits every week. His key worker keeps me up to date with everything that he is doing in nursery. I really enjoy looking on aul track for updates about his day! I really couldn't fault Park Wood.

When our daughter first started with Parkwood, naturally there was a feeling of uncertainty. The corridor leading to the entrance of the building was filled with pictures, celebrating children's achievements from the nursery. Our little girl particularly liked the way it had been decorated with forrest
animals, which I personally thought was a lovely touch. As we walked through the main door, we were immediately greeted by the manager of the nursery who had a warm, professional and trustworthy demeanor. The manager gave us a quick tour of the nursery, which included separate rooms for each age group. It was clear that children in the nursery were positively stretched and each room promoted learning.
The manager showed us to the room where our daughter would start her journey and introduced her staff. Again, we couldn't fault the overall quality and professionalism of the team. The staff exuded positivity and it was clear there was an overall fantastic work ethos from the staff at Parkwood. We felt comfortable and reassured that our daughter was in safe hands and left her with Parkwood for a full day. Since our first day, the standards at the nursery have been consistent and there's a sense that all the staff want to better themselves.


We would like to thank one of the staff members there for her on-going positive nature and amazing commitment to the children. She is a breath of fresh air and Parkwood would not be the same without her.

Park Wood Day Nursery is a great nursery. My little boy has been at Park Wood since he was 10 months old, he is now approaching three years and he enjoys his fun filled days at Park Wood. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly and I have always felt extremely comfortable and happy to leave my son
there. The children do so many activities every day and the diary completed at the end of each day is great as it lets you know exactly what your child has been up to! I cant praise Park Wood enough it truly is a great nursery and I will be sad when my little boy has to leave and start school.

My daughter went to Park Wood from 10 months to 4 years old. I can highly recommend the nursery. My daughter has learnt so much in her time at Park Wood and we always felt she was very well cared for. They have also encouraged healthy eating in her and we love all the little extras like rugby tots and

I'm absolutely delighted with my daughter's progress and development since she started at Park Wood as a young baby... she's so happy and excited to arrive every morning, the staff have been fantastic with helping to wean her as she had special dietary requirements, she's now taking steps, babbling
away and is so sociable at only 9 months. I love seeing photos and observations online of her everyday, it's so reassuring to know she's receiving excellent care while I'm working. Very happy mummy :)

Hello, I’m Mel Fitzpatrick and I am the Nursery Manager here at Park Wood.


I have a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and have worked with children for 10 years now, beginning as a newly qualified practitioner and working my way up to my current position.


I love to see the impact that I can have on the children’s development; and I pride myself upon the strong relationships that I have built with families over the years.


The team here at Park Wood are dedicated and passionate, always striving to provide the best care for our children. We are a family here at Park Wood, and work to ensure that all children, parents and carers feel part of that too.
