Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool was established in 2000 and is based in the David Lloyd Club in Knowsley. The nursery is designed to support your child’s development from 3 months to 5 years, and the team are dedicated to delivering the best possible childcare to local families in the community.
They pride themselves on providing a safe, exciting and enjoyable nursery where children thrive as they learn. The nursery is all on one level and has a separate entrance from the David Lloyd Building. Each of the four age-specific rooms has been lovingly crafted into an inspiring and stimulating learning environment with a variety of resources and activities available.
There is a large, recently refurbished garden, which offers lots of opportunity for digging, gardening and imaginative play. Your child will love exploring the variety of areas, such as the mud kitchen hut, the cosy reading shed, and the popular outdoor water play.

Our daughter is 2 1/2 and joined when she was 9 months old. We looked at a number of nurseries and have never regretted choosing this nursery for her. The staff are great - interested in our little girls family and interests, good daily feedback, and detailed information and guidance at parents evenings. We've been lucky to have exceptional key workers in the different rooms she has been in since she joined. Really good varied activities, nice outdoor space and a loads of lovely meals. She has loved the swimming lessons just a shame these are on hold at the moment but hope this is something that she will be able to pick up again soon.
Best thing I ever did was choose this nursery for both of my children. My son currently attends. He absolutely loves nursery and has made some lovely friends. He eats fantastically in there. The nursery workers are amazing. They all go and above and beyond. They get to know your child properly....

My daughter is in toddler room and she has settled so well, I know she is receiving the best care and feel confident leaving her there while I go to work. All her learning and development needs are well catered for and she has a nutritious balanced diet. All the staff are amazing, they are approachable and really care about the children. The staff at Kirkby Day Nursery have gone out of their way consistently to welcome our daughter and us into nursery. They bought a book because I said it was important to us as a family they read it to all the children and have said how our daughters face lights up when they read it. It is little things like this that make me certain we chose the right nursery. All the staff seem to know our little girl and talk to her and about her to us. The staff in nursery room are all lovely and our daughter really likes them. The manager is always lovely and really helpful too.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. In relation to your comments regarding your child's learning and development, I am sorry that you have not felt that we have included you in your child's development.
I can assure you that your child has 'next steps' set every week when his weekly planning is completed. We also have a 'next steps' board displayed in the room where you can look at the areas of development we are currently supporting your child with.
Each child will have a summative report completed in December, which will be completed in conjunction with parents and your child's key person. This will enable you to see which areas your child has been developing in whilst at nursery, and also the next steps to take in the following three months.
Emily is your child's key person and is always available for you to speak to. She will write in your child's diary what his interests have been for that week, and what type of activities we will be looking at for the following week, to enable you to continue this at home.
Regarding walks and outings; the children always access the outdoor play area and do try to get out within the local community as much as possible. Following your suggestion, however, we will look at how we ensure outings more regularly for our toddlers.
