My nephew has just left Kirkby Day Nursery to go to primary school and I feel they have given him the best possible start in his little life, working in childcare myself I know how much work and dedication goes in to working with young children and the staff at Kirkby Day Nursery go above and beyond
on a daily basis. When collecting my nephew the feedback has always been great, I could always see how much fun he was having. He will miss you all so much now he has left.

The staff at Kirkby Day Nursery are amazing. I would not hesitate in recommending them to family and friends. My daughter has a number of additional needs which requires hospital treatment and the staff at the nursery go beyond the call of duty for her. The care and support that they give not only to
my daughter but also both me and my husband is fantastic. They know my daughter inside and out and I feel totally reassured when she is there. They have ensured that they have all the training they need and also have done research into my daughter. I couldn’t ask for a better place for her to be. Thank you so much to all the staff.

My eldest daughter started nearly 4yrs ago the team welcomed us and put us at ease straight away. Nothing was a problem they were keen to get to know my baby, care for her and help her grown into a happy and confident little girl ready for school, they did an outstanding job. She now loves coming back
to pick her baby sister up and is still remembered and made to feel welcome by all the staff.
The team really take an interest in the children individually and work with you to bring them on whatever stage they are at. I found they always listened to me too and when it came to first steps, potty training, learning to write and all the other little stages her key person was always on hand to support and work with us to get the best for her.
Over the years the standards haven’t changed if anything they have got better, my youngest who has only recently started settled straight into baby room and clearly loves being there too. I am very confident she will have the same great experience.

My little boy really struggled to settle when he first started, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding.
I few weeks on and he’s settled in well, he’s really enjoying being round other toddlers and is coming on leaps and bounds.
My step daughter went to this nursery, she is now
9 and all the staff remembed her, this is testiment to how personal this nursery is, I can’t recommend it enough.

Great nursery, great facilities and a fantastic staff team. My nephew has been at the nursery since he was 9 months old and will be 4 in April. He has always been extremely happy and well settled whilst at Asquith Kirkby Day Nursery and we know he will miss it very much when he leaves in September.

My son really enjoys coming into Nursery, I feel happy leaving him here knowing he is in a safe and secure environment. My son has really bonded with his key worker, and the effort all the staff members went into make his induction run as smoothly as possible was outstanding.

Asquith Kirkby Day Nursery provides an outstanding level of care for all children. The staff are dedicated, highly motivated and very knowledgeable. They go above and beyond for the children within their care, providing bespoke learning opportunities that are carefully tailored to the needs of the child.
Arrangements for safeguarding are robust and all relevant safeguarding information is clearly visible within the Nursery. Parents are kept very well informed and any issues are dealt with promptly and in a professional manner. Asquith Kirkby Day Nursery is held in very high regard by the community it serves and I feel very reassured knowing my daughter is so well cared for.

As a family, we are so happy with how my nephew has come on since starting Kirkby Day Nursery.

The staff are caring and supportive and the children are exposed to a wide range of different learning experiences. This has helped him to become the bright, happy and confident little boy he is!

My son is in toddler room and goes one day a week. He has a good relationship with his key worker. When my son gets upset when first dropped off, he is easily comforted by his key worker and then he is happy and settled for rest of day. He often comes home with photos of his day and it is obvious that
his speech and development have really come on since going to nursery. When my son is in the nursery I know that he is getting excellent care which puts my mind at rest! I would definitely recommend this nursery!

Asquith is exactly what we were looking for in a nursery. The team is friendly and genuine, the children are smiley and happy and the atmosphere is caring and inviting. The facilities are excellent and we are very impressed by the level of attention to cleanliness, indoor and outdoor play and nutrition.
We feel very blessed that our girl is able to attend such a great nursery. The love, care and consideration shown to her by the staff, is second to none and it is very comforting to us that she is well cared for. My daughter loves going there that much she actively asks to go.

My grandson has attended Kirkby Day Nursery since he was 9 months old and he is now 3 and currently in the Pre-school room. The nursery is such a fun loving place for children and my grandson has come on so much and we know this is due to the hard work and dedication that staff put into all the children.
His key person always goes above and beyond and makes each day so much fun. All the staff are amazing including the management team who equally know all the children extremely well, it fills me with so much confidence when dropping my grandson off that he is being looked after by the best people.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.397)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.397) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.397 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 number of registered child places is 13.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.4 = 0.597
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

I started my journey with Bright Horizons in 2013 and I have over 17 years’ experience working with children. I qualified as a nursery nurse at the age of 17 where I gained my L2 & 3 in childcare in early years. From a nursery nurse practitioner, I developed my skill by working with amazing children, families and practitioners which supported me to become a part of the management team. Since working for Bright Horizons I have truly excelled in my practice and knowledge on how to support practitioners to become outstanding members of our team.

By the age of 32 I was given the opportunity to take on a deputy managerial role, which I am truly thankful of.
