Children 1st Derby Road Nursery School

I attended a visit to the nursery and was very impressed, as a teacher myself, I felt I had high expectations for a nursery setting when I began searching for my son. I wasn't disappointed! Greeted happily and met by the manager both me and my son were made very welcome. All staff were happy/smiling/interacting with children around them, very stimulating environment, a wide range of activities for children to access alone or to complete alongside adults. Snack and water areas clearly zoned and outdoor provision well facilitated. Very happy with this as my choice of nursery.

Staff are kind, caring, friendly, professional and provide a fun environment for our son. He has only been going a few weeks yet we can see a huge difference which is fantastic and makes us happy to leave him knowing he is well looked after.

Choosing a nursery for our son was not a job that we took lightly. We viewed many nurseries within the area but so so pleased we went with Children 1st. The bright, safe and secure environment was welcoming from the start. All staff are very friendly and have been there for our child since he joined the nursery at 10 months old. He is now almost 4 and is within the early years unit. He is developing well due to the fantastic opportunities he is given on a daily basis. The teaching and learning is second to none and we are consulted with on a daily basis about our child's development through the early years log online, learning journey and the staff team knowing our son inside out. It is evident that our son is cared for by the very best practitioners in the industry. I can not recommend this nursery enough.

My little boy has been attending the nursery since I returned back to work in April. I know that I do not have to worry about him whilst I'm at work because he's always really well looked after. My little boy is smiling when I drop him off and smiling when I fetch him. I know he's had a great day. He has a diary so I know exactly what he's been doing throughout the day and what he has eaten as well as how much he's slept. The eyLog (early years Log) is great because I get to see pictures/videos of how much fun he's having. The staff are brilliant and always have time to talk to you about your child or to discuss any problems you may have. I cannot recommend this nursery enough!

A wonderful nursery. I'm very pleased to have my son here. The comments book which tells me about his day is a great touch and the occasional picture using the Early Years app always brightens up my day. The food is also excellent and has a good healthy balance to it. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

My son has been at this nursery for over 2 years. I find the staff are incredibly helpful and very welcoming. Nothing seems too much trouble. I loved the diaries we were given when my son was in the younger groups and now he is older, the staff give us the same information verbally. The food seems to be healthy and varied. The equipment in each room is plentiful and regularly changed and the children seem to have many learning opportunities and activities. The nursery uses an online system where you can check on the progress of your child. My son seems very happy there. I would recommend this nursery to others looking for quality care for their children.

My son has been attending this nursery since 2014 and we have been extremely pleased with his progress. He's a sensitive soul and the nursery are fully aware that he can take a little longer to settle than others and have adapted very well to his needs. Although he still cries when I leave him some days he has never said he doesn't want to go and when I collect him he's always so excited to tell me about his day. The amount of time they spend outside is brilliant, they will spend most of the day outside if they can. The nursery staff are kind and professional. I have never had a single complaint in the two years my son has been attending. I highly recommend Derby Road nursery.

This nursery is simply brilliant in every aspect. It is coming up to 7 months since my daughter joined and even from the start there were measures in place to help her settle in and it went brilliantly with no tears. In fact now, every time we pull up in the morning and I say "we're at nursery" she has the biggest smile on her face! The manager and the team have been very supportive with my fussy eater and she has come on leaps and bounds since joining here. She loves to play and comes home with lots of things that she has made. She has a brilliant time here and they treat each child as an individual and listen to your requests you have for your child. I am so pleased we picked this nursery, it has been brilliant. There is so much to stimulate and no 2 days are the same. I fully believe this has been crucial to her development and I highly recommend this nursery. The staff are brilliant, very friendly, always smiling and it is just the environment I want for my little one.
