Lovely nursery with lovely staff, all children seem very happy to be there and staff are very welcoming. Regular updates on the app which is great and always give an update on collection. My child always enjoys her time there.
They were really accommodating when my little one started due to me finding a new job and unsure of start dates etc.
It's always clean, I'm impressed with the facilities for all age groups.
Staff all seem lovely and happy.

We put our first child in Nursery here by the recommendation of friends who have sent 2 children here. I didn't know what to expect and I am incredibly happy! The staff are so so lovely and friendly; I completely trust them with my son. He has come on leaps and bounds since going there and doing all of the activities. I am so impressed with all of the work the team do; couldn't be happier.
My son had a lovely first day at the nursery. The staff was brilliant and the managers helpful. I am so happy that my son is a part of this lovely family team. I think at this stage I cannot see anything that I will change.
I don't have a bad word to say about the staff at the nursery or the treatment of the children. However, the availability of additional days when required is limited. And the one time a request for an additional session was approved, it ended up costing £72 for a 10-hour day session which I was shocked about.
Overall, we are very pleased with the nursery.
He seems to eat well, play lots and again develop constantly.
The cost is the higher end but you get quality for it.
Our son has been bitten a few times which is life and to be expected but we haven't been given any feedback on if it's a repeat offender or if it's one-off cases.
Updates are amazing but dwindled of late.
My experience with Children 1st @ Toton Day Nursery has been fantastic, it's a caring environment, very clean and the staff are professional, warm and friendly. My daughter loves going to nursery, I'm confident that she receives genuine support and encouragement from the staff, they do all kinds of fun activities together and we get regular updates and pictures to see how she's getting on. Having had experience of a different nursery before Children 1st, I can see a huge difference in my daughter's confidence and overall development since we joined last year.
Both my sons love/loved going to Children 1st @ Toton Day Nursery. They have great, friendly staff who really connect with the children and the range of activities and areas for the children to play and learn are fantastic. I couldn't imagine a better place for my kids to make friends and prepare for school.
The staff are amazing, always doing interesting and fun things and the kids are so happy.
It's a wonderfully clean, caring and special environment and my daughter has gained so much confidence and skills from being there.

We love our nursery. The staff are very caring and take the time to know us and our children. They cover a wide range of topics and activities which our children find interesting and enjoy getting involved with.
Both of our boys attend Children 1st @ Toton Day Nursery and we would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery to other parents. The staff are incredibly welcoming, warm and nurturing and we have always felt comfortable leaving both the boys in their care. They create a brilliant learning environment and the communication with us, as parents, has always been great so we know what they have been doing each day. Our youngest son also has additional needs and the staff have always gone above and beyond in supporting his development.
Amazing nursery, always helping out where they can, supporting my little boy in everything and giving him lots of new opportunities to explore. They show great communication with parents working together during the transition.
Secondly, I am happy and contended with the management of this institution. My son is truly enjoying and improving to a great extent. He is my third child who is attending and growing at Children 1st @ Toton, Nottingham, thank you.
Lots of effort goes into activities with the children, especially at Christmas time.
Also, they manage to keep my kid's clothes cleaner throughout the day than I can so I can't complain.
My daughter has attended the nursery for three years now. She has been very happy there throughout her time in different stages of the nursery. Staff are kind, caring, enthusiastic and supportive. She is well cared for and engages in a wide variety of activities, including putting on a Christmas play, meeting firefighters and lollipop workers, a lesson in first aid, woodwork and other arts and crafts etc., with plenty of outdoor time in their well-equipped outdoor spaces. The children are offered a wide variety of homemade food, exposing them regularly to a range of cuisines and my daughter is very complimentary! I would, and have, highly recommend to anyone looking for nursery care in the area.
This nursery is outstanding, my daughter loves her time here. The staff are also brilliant and will go above and beyond to make sure the children (my daughter) are happy. Would 100% recommend Children 1st @ Toton Day Nursery to my friends and their children.
Always wonderful nursery staff who care greatly about all the kids as well as their learning, personal growth, social skills and communication. I don't have any doubt my daughter is greatly prepared for the next big step thanks to the support she has received from staff.
The kitchen is amazing, top chef, my daughter eats everything! I'm jealous! The whole nursery environment is always clean and well looked after, even the outside.
I can't rate this nursery enough, management and the administration staff are always visible, friendly and helpful which creates a culture I want my child to be part of.
Our daughter has come on so much since starting to attend just over a year ago and she really enjoys going.
The activities that the children do are really varied and fun.

Hello, my name is Katie Smeeton and I joined Children 1st in 2008. I began my childcare journey as an apprentice, where I completed my Level 3 qualification in Childcare. During my training, I gained so much knowledge and understanding of early years education, which shaped my passion for the profession.
I’ve had the opportunity to work across three of our sites, developing my skills and experiences along the way. This journey has led me to my current role as Nursery Manager.
I hold a Level 3 in Childcare, alongside DSL training and First Aid in the Workplace.
I am especially passionate about working with Under 2’s and supporting their early learning and development. I love welcoming new families into the nursery, and as a manager, I’m able to build those important relationships from the very first phone call or visit, starting strong parent partnerships.
I take pride in supporting families and am passionate about maintaining positive, healthy relationships with them throughout their nursery journey.
Hello, my name is Laura Harrison and I began my journey with Children 1st in 2007. I started as a Level 3 Early Years Educator after completing my qualification at college, but it’s throughout my time here that I’ve gained the most valuable experience and knowledge.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in three different nurseries, developing my skills and progressing from Senior to Deputy, and now to my current role as Nursery Manager.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, along with DSL and Paediatric First Aid certificates. What I love most about my role is building strong relationships with families, supporting them through those important early stages of nursery life, and watching their children grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence.
