The staff are so so lovely and friendly; I completely trust them with my son. He has come on leaps and bounds since going there and doing all of the activities. I am so impressed with all of the work the team do; couldn't be happier.
My son had a lovely first day at the nursery. The staff was brilliant and the managers helpful. I am so happy that my son is a part of this lovely family team. I think at this stage I cannot see anything that I will change.

My experience with Children 1st @ Toton Day Nursery has been fantastic, it's a caring environment, very clean and the staff are professional, warm and friendly. My daughter loves going to nursery, I'm confident that she receives genuine support and encouragement from the staff, they do all kinds of fun activities together and we get regular updates and pictures to see how she's getting on. Having had experience of a different nursery before Children 1st, I can see a huge difference in my daughter's confidence and overall development since we joined last year.

The staff are incredibly welcoming, warm and nurturing and we have always felt comfortable leaving both the boys in their care. They create a brilliant learning environment and the communication with us, as parents, has always been great so we know what they have been doing each day. Our youngest son also has additional needs and the staff have always gone above and beyond in supporting his development.

My daughter has attended the nursery for three years now. She has been very happy there throughout her time in different stages of the nursery. Staff are kind, caring, enthusiastic and supportive. She is well cared for and engages in a wide variety of activities, including putting on a Christmas play, meeting firefighters and lollipop workers, a lesson in first aid, woodwork and other arts and crafts etc., with plenty of outdoor time in their well-equipped outdoor spaces. The children are offered a wide variety of homemade food, exposing them regularly to a range of cuisines and my daughter is very complimentary! I would, and have, highly recommend to anyone looking for nursery care in the area.

Hello, my name is Katie Smeeton and I joined Children 1st in 2008. I began my childcare journey as an apprentice, where I completed my Level 3 qualification in Childcare. During my training, I gained so much knowledge and understanding of early years education, which shaped my passion for the profession.
I’ve had the opportunity to work across three of our sites, developing my skills and experiences along the way. This journey has led me to my current role as Nursery Manager.
I hold a Level 3 in Childcare, alongside DSL training and First Aid in the Workplace.
I am especially passionate about working with Under 2’s and supporting their early learning and development. Hello, my name is Laura Harrison and I began my journey with Children 1st in 2007. I started as a Level 3 Early Years Educator after completing my qualification at college, but it’s throughout my time here that I’ve gained the most valuable experience and knowledge.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in three different nurseries, developing my skills and progressing from Senior to Deputy, and now to my current role as Nursery Manager.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, along with DSL and Paediatric First Aid certificates. What I love most about my role is building strong relationships with families, supporting them through those important early stages of nursery life, and watching their children grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence.
I’m passionate about providing high-quality care and creating a warm, welcoming environment where every family’s nursery experience is a positive one.
