Children 1st Grantham Nursery School is situated close to the town centre, with easy access to local bus routes and the train station. The nursery is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted (May 2022).

The environment has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and out-of-school children aged up to 12-years-old.

Friendly, experienced and well-qualified staff are available to give children and parents the support they need.

Staff to children ratios are even better than Ofsted recommend and the nursery offers funded places for eligible children 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.   

Outside there is a garden with age-specific equipment. Children are encouraged to choose their own activities with a huge variety of options both indoors and outside

We are very pleased with Children 1st!
Our daughter looks so happy there and is having the best time of her life!
We regularly hear about story time, singing and dancing.
Since joining the nursery she has developed in so many ways. She is more confident and looks forward to going into nursery every
day.
All the teachers are brilliant! Our daughter loves them!

The nursery is nice, clean and well kept. The lady on reception is lovely and will sort out any problems you may have. The nursery assistants are very helpful. I also have praise for my grandchild's key person and co-worker who are always there to give hugs and support.
All in all a lovely nursery.

This is a fantastic nursery, all the staff are friendly and caring and very professional! My little boy absolutely loves it and has come on leaps and bounds since he started in September 2017! It's the other side of town from where we live but he's so happy there!!

Children's 1st Grantham is a fantastic childcare facility. I cannot rate the staff highly enough. They are always attentive, very caring and hard working. The management are always around and are very efficient. My little boy loves going to nursery where he can take part in many activities which are
active, creative and challenging. The facility is always clean and has a variety of play areas inside and out. You all do an amazing job and I am very thankful for what you do and how you have developed and supported my little boy. Thank you.

My daughter has been here since she was 9 months old. The girls in the baby room are so welcoming each morning and constantly reassuring me that she's fine and doing ok. My daughter loves to go in every time and has made good friendships with the staff and children.


All staff in nursery know her

by name and the lady on reception follows up and explains things easily. Management is always professional and helpful and I couldn't have chosen a better nursery for my child!

My little girl has been with the nursery ever since she was 6 months old she has thrived and become very confident. She has recently moved into the early year's room at first she was a bit unsure as she left many of her friends in the Peter Rabbits room but the staff have been very caring and helped
my little girl settle in and make new friends. She has come on leaps and bounds since starting nursery and will come home talking about her nursery day and what she has done with the staff and children.

Absolutely love this nursery for my child. The staff are so welcoming the activities which the children do are so much fun. The staff even take time out to help my child learn how to write her own name she was 2 and a half at the time. I couldn't fault this nursery. I would recommend it to any mummies
and I will be sending my youngest to this nursery also.

I’m constantly recommending this nursery to other people. It is by far the best nursery I have used. I love how the building is modern and clean looking and all the rooms are fit for purpose. The staff are brilliant and all give the impression they genuinely enjoy what they do. My daughter has come
on in leaps and bounds throughout the last year at Children 1st. I feel 100% happy leaving her here, no niggling doubts as I’ve had with other nurseries. I initially picked this nursery as it was very convenient for my work, I now continue to use it even though it is nowhere near where I need to be anymore. Cannot praise enough, the only downside is the cost, bit pricier than other nurseries but you definitely get what you pay for!

Excellent nursery. My son went to Children 1st from 10 months until he started school and never had any issues. He loved it and was very happy, always learning, he got on very well with all members of staff. He is now thriving at school and feel Children 1st played a big part in his transition from
nursery to school, with confidence and approach to learning. My daughter is now there in the baby room and she will hopefully have the same good experience her brother did.

Children 1st @ Grantham have been more than accommodating for my child. If I have ever had any concerns these have been addressed appropriately and thoroughly and I thank Children 1st @ Grantham for this. My child assured me that they love the nursery and loves playing with their friends. Staff are
friendly and professional and I have also been assured that there are cameras in the nursery for the children's' protection. There is also a secure entrance system that families can only collect children with passwords and prior notification from the parent which is brilliant for safeguarding them. I am sure that my child is progressing well at nursery and has definitely come out in themselves, speaking much more since starting and also coming home singing new songs they learnt from nursery too. I would definitely recommend this nursery to any parent who wishes to be sure their child is happy, safe and encouraged to learn and in a nursery where staff are accommodating and friendly.

My daughter started at Children 1st @ Grantham in September. She was previously at another Children 1st but we relocated and as we were very happy with that nursery, I was pleased to find a Children 1st @ Grantham.


She settled in really quickly and is so happy when we arrive at nursery each morning.

The staff are all wonderful and my daughter really loves spending time with them. Over the past year, she has come on leaps and bounds and the staff are supporting her in developing her speech and social skills. I love getting observation reports on the EyLog app as it’s great to see what she has been doing and it’s especially nice to see a photo to brighten up my day at work.

I would recommend this nursery to anyone. My son has been coming to this nursery since 9th January 2017 he absolutely loves coming, he's made so many friends and he has learnt so much in the past year. If he has had trouble doing anything they are always quick to help him. The staff are always polite
and welcome the mothers and fathers everytime they pick up/drop their children off. They will always let you know of any upcoming events. Couldn't be happier with the nursery.

Absolutely love Children 1st. Such a welcoming atmosphere and all of the staff are friendly, loving and caring towards all of the children. My children have been in the baby room and 2-3 year room and they are both well equipped with lots to do inside and out. My children are often coming home with
pictures that they have made, cakes that they have baked, sunflowers that they have planted, cards and treats.
Each week there is a rotating healthy menu, complete with snacks throughout. Very impressive food.
In the beginning, I hated leaving my children but all the staff made me feel at such ease and would really comfort the children rather than just 'supervising' them and now they love going. It feels like a big family.
You can track their progress and see photos online which is an extra bonus.
The management are amazing, if there has ever been any questions they are quick to answer or address any issues, so flexibility and will help with anything they can. 100% recommend.

I work full time and looked a few nurseries and this one was the one that engaged me straight away, he has been with them for 3 years now and I can't fault the setup or staff. I would highly recommend Grantham branch. Thank you to everyone that look after my little boy.

A fun and varied learning place for my little boy. Lots of different activities set up every morning for the children. Lovely friendly staff, the dinners and snacks given are healthy and varied and my little one is always full up. The nursery is safe and clean and I feel confident leaving my little

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Hello, I'm Paula Bunn, Manager at Children 1st @ Grantham.
I have over 20 years childcare experience in different settings and roles. I have the level 3 NNEB qualification, an NVQ in Team Leading and an NVQ in Management.
I started working at the Grantham nursery 3 years ago as a Senior Nursery Nurse in the under 2s unit and was promoted to Deputy Manager overseeing the under 3s unit in January 2014, also supporting our EYT and Manager with the day to day running of the Early Years unit and Nursery as a whole.
I am really enjoying my new role as manager at our Outstanding nursery.
I am extremely passionate about the nursery I work in as I was born nearby and get tremendous job satisfaction seeing the wonderful children we look after learn and develop in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. I am also very proud to work for Children 1st, working with the staff at every level to be `The Best`.
