Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is situated in a large, converted house next to Christ’s Hospital School in the heart of Lincoln. The nursery benefits from ample parking and is popular with parents working in Lincoln.

The Wragby Road nursery has been fully refurbished and has cosy rooms with smaller groups of children. The setting offers several garden areas with plenty of opportunity for children to learn through play in a variety of learning environments.

The nursery's early years setting is managed by highly skilled early years teachers who have expert knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The nursery team are passionate about offering exciting learning opportunities and children leave nursery confident and ready for school.

Brilliant nursery, my child has been here for 2 and a half years now and we will be sad to leave! Staff have always been great, helpful and happy!
They really do look after your child and always provide plenty of activities to keep them busy and learning new things. Have also been brilliant with allergies
too, can't fault them at all.

I have my 19-month-old daughter at this nursery currently and she’ll be joined by her 7-month-old little sister in October.
My eldest daughter looks forward to her nursery days and is full of smiles when I collect her and her keyworker and colleagues always take the time to fill me in on her day,
what she’s eaten and how she’s been.
She started here at 8 months old in Jemima’s (now in Bobtails) I was so delighted by all the activities for the little ones, little old-fashioned prams for them to snooze outside and the lovely outdoor space for them to play.
When my daughter was very poorly in hospital just before Christmas last year and missed all the nursery Christmas festivities, they had a wrapped gift ready for her and a get-well-soon card which was a lovely gesture and meant the world to us. I am excited for my youngest daughter to join her sister there because I know they’ll both be in great hands as I work. Wonderful attentive staff who genuinely care about the children.

My little one is 18 months old and is delayed in her development in a few ways. From her very first week at Children 1st @ Wragby Road Day Nursery, she started to flourish. She said her first word in her first week. She’s gone on to crawling, cruising and is now a confident walker; and the warm, supportive
and social environment has played a huge part.
The team are positive and caring with a genuine interest the development of the children. I can’t speak highly enough of them - they are part of the family, the third on our parenting team.
We’ve had another baby since and she will also be attending soon.

My little boy has been coming to this nursery for almost two years. I'm so happy with his progress here, he absolutely loves his key workers and friends, and the nursery have been so accommodating and are always happy to help if I need extra childcare and support at the drop of a hat. A lovely environment
and I always feel safe when dropping him off with his welcoming key workers.

My daughter has attended Children 1st @ Wragby Road Day Nursery since December and in that time has settled so well. She is currently in Peter Rabbits and all the staff are really supportive and helping with her potty training as well as all other aspects of her learning. She is always very happy when
I pick her up and I enjoy hearing about how much she has enjoyed her day.

My daughter is enjoying her time at this nursery, she has learnt so many different things already. Most of the staff are really nice, there was one member who wasn't very nice and my daughter was very upset every time she saw her. Luckily she has moved up to the next room now and seems to be much happier.

My son attends Children 1st @ Wragby Road. He has such a fun time when he is there. He often comes home singing new songs he has been singing at nursery. He also talks about his friends and his favourite worker who he refers to as his favourite “big friend”.
The nursery is brilliant, caring and really

My daughter is always excited to go to nursery and has made some lovely relationships with both staff and children. The staff are always welcoming when you walk into the nursery and into my child's room too.
My daughter has recently gone through toilet training and the staff were amazing with their
support to help her at nursery, she picked it up really quickly thanks to the ladies within her room.
The nursery environment is exceptional and offers children simply what we can not offer in our home environments. They have a lovely outdoor space which I really like how the children can access it freely and in all weathers to get some fresh air. My daughter loves being in the garden at home so it's great knowing she can access outdoors at nursery.
I would and will continue to recommend Children 1st @ Wragby Road to all of my friends.

Our little boy started at Children 1st @ Wragby Road when he was 9 months, we had moved him from a previous nursery and we have never looked back. It is a wonderful setting and the staff are all so lovely. We are always greeted with smiles, the staff always make an effort to chat and our son's needs
are always met, over and above.

Our 3-year-old started in May 2023 and has settled better than we could have ever hoped for. As we’re an ex-military family, our child has experienced four nurseries now and struggled at all of them for weeks to properly settle in but not here! He is so happy and content after only a short time there.
The team put their heart and soul into making our son feel incredibly welcome and giving him the sensitive care and attention that he needs as quite a shy little one. He has formed wonderful bonds with the staff and loves attending on his days there. I often wish I could stay for lunch myself as the home-cooked food smells incredible. The stay-and-play sessions really bring the community together and allow the parents to properly meet each other. I’ve never found a nicer, cleaner or more efficient nursery after living in the south of England and also in Germany.

Both of my children have attended Children 1st @ Wragby Road with my youngest still being there now. We have always been very satisfied with the quality of care our boys receive. Information about my child's day and any concerns/injuries from accidents are always reported and communicated efficiently.
It’s lovely to see the occasional picture of the fun that goes on during activities in the day too! My youngest loves attending nursery and is happy to see all of the grown-ups and children there. The staff engage well with the children and everything they do is driven by the children’s needs and interests. Thank you to everyone for your hard work and care!

My first daughter started here in 2017 and my youngest is there now, over five years all the staff have been really accommodating of any changes and really helpful with questions. My daughter really enjoys her time in early years, she always seems to have packed a lot into her day and she loves the
new outdoor play area. The staff all seem to know the children and there is a really nice atmosphere.

Very positive experience from Day 1, when we first came in for an open day. Even though our boy is very shy, after overcoming early anxieties of being separated from us, parents, he now loves going to the nursery and interacting with his friends. I’d recommend this nursery to everyone. Great, caring
staff, always with a smile on their face, always willing to help and go the extra mile. Lots of parent-friendly modern solutions (interactive Ey Log, QBell, etc.) enable tracking child development and learning progress as well as convince when picking up on a rainy or a cold day. The nursery is constantly developing and only recently has completely revamped its garden to provide even more fun areas for the children. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. My daughter has been attending Children 1st @ Wragby Road for more than a year and we both love it. I looked at several nurseries and knew this was the one from our first visit and have never doubted our decision. The facilities are fantastic, my daughter has so much fun and she adores the staff and
other children. Her development and speech have come on so much and so quickly and a huge part of this is down to her amazing key workers. She's always full of smiles when I collect her and eager to tell me about the people she's seen, the food she's eaten and to sing me the new songs she's learnt. The communication is great with staff and everyone on the team is friendly, helpful and professional, and have gone above and beyond to help or answer any questions I've had. I would highly recommend Children 1st @ Wragby Road (and frequently do)!

Joanna Parker

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, my name is Joanna Parker and I joined Children 1st in 2018. I completed my NNEB and have worked in various roles within nurseries, working my way up from Nursery Nurse to Nursery Manager.


I’m particularly proud of achieving my Foundation Degree in Early Years through the Open University while working, which gave me a Level 5 qualification.


I really enjoy working with families — from welcoming them on their very first visit to seeing them begin their nursery journey with us. I love organising family events and creating opportunities for them to be part of nursery life.


I feel very passionate about making sure every family feels included in our setting and knows they can turn to us for support whenever they need it. I’m also proud to work alongside an amazing team who go above and beyond every day to provide high-quality learning and care for every child. Supporting my team and helping each member reach their full potential is something I value highly in my role.
