Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is situated in a large, converted house next to Christ’s Hospital School in the heart of Lincoln. The nursery benefits from ample parking and is popular with parents working in Lincoln.

The Wragby Road nursery has been fully refurbished and has cosy rooms with smaller groups of children. The setting offers several garden areas with plenty of opportunity for children to learn through play in a variety of learning environments.

The nursery's early years setting is managed by highly skilled early years teachers who have expert knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The nursery team are passionate about offering exciting learning opportunities and children leave nursery confident and ready for school.

It is a lovely Nursery! We are very happy and our son enjoys going there a lot. The teachers and the administrative team are amazing and always ready to help you. Our son has learned a lot and made fantastic friends.

My boy loves this nursery and everyone in the baby room. He had a few unsettled days when moving up to the next room but they will always call me if there are any issues. I can also call them as often as I like to make sure he is ok.

Our youngest daughter recently started in the baby room, everything about the nursery is lovely. The room is beautiful and so well thought out, with inviting wooden toys. The staff are so friendly and loving towards the babies, the transition period is a difficult time, but our daughter is always greeted
with open arms and a smile, and I’m always confident that she gets excellent care while she’s there. The other facilities such as the outside area and the meals are also fab.

I love this nursery. The staff are wonderful and my daughter really does enjoy attending. It’s opening hours suit my shift work and even though it’s a long day for my daughter, she’s always got a big smile on her face when we collect her. Well done to all the staff who are never too busy to tell me
about her day and take the time to fill me in on any new information I need. I definitely would recommend this nursery.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was 6 months old. He has always loved going to nursery and is so happy and settled there.
All staff in this nursery are warm and welcoming and no request is too much trouble for them. Staff communicate thoroughly about my child’s day and I am kept informed
about his development and next steps through the online system.
I completely trust the staff at this nursery to give my child the care he needs while I am working, which gives me total peace of mind.

Our daughter always has a fantastic time when she attends Children 1st, she enjoys a wide range of activities and gets lots of support from the staff. The food is always varied and she always eats a good amount which is amazing for a toddler! As parents, it’s lovely to hear all about her day when we

My daughter (1-year-old) has been cared for exceptionally by Children 1st nursery. She could only breastfeed to sleep when she started but they helped her to sleep kindly and calmly, never leaving her to cry at all. She had fallen asleep in her key worker's arms when I recently picked her up. It was
lovely to see so much care and attention. The staff are calm, patient, kind and caring. Cannot praise them enough!

The staff are fantastic, always loving and caring and have always made me feel reassured that my son is very well looked after. The environment is clean and playful so I know he has lots of fun and lots of stimulation. He has come on leaps and bounds so I would highly recommend Children 1st.

My son has been in this nursery since he was 4 months old and we are absolutely delighted with the staff and the nursery itself. The people working there make a difference; they are sweet, caring and they pay attention to every detail from the manager to the cleaner; everyone is really professional.
I would say this nursery is like a big family and the environment they create is wonderful. My boy is now 2 and he is happy to go every day. I couldn't have chosen a better nursery for my boy!

We have been using the Wragby Road nursery for the last 5 years (with both of our boys). The staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. The facilities are great, and both boys love/d attending. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

I would highly recommend children first at Wragby Road. Both of my children have attended the nursery my son started when he was 2 years old and my daughter was 7 months old back in 2015. My daughter still currently attends and has a great relationship with all of the staff in the peter rabbits room.

The ladies in the puddleducks room have been brilliant in transitioning my child into nursery as first time parents we were apprehensive about our child starting nursery. They made every opportunity to reassure us that our son was doing well knowing it would put us at ease. Since joining the nursery
our son has come on leaps and bounds with his speech, motor skills and general confindance. The food in which he receives is of a great variety and he always eats it all, which speaks for itself. The nursery is brilliant at working along side us at home so that we are on the same page for his development. We also like the use of the eylog facilities which allows us to see pictures and updates on how he is and what he has been learning and doing at nursery; likewise we can add our own blogs of what he is doing at home allowing the practioners to see and further develop at nursery. As well as a key worker our son seems to have a great relationship with each of the practioners.

I couldn't recommend this nursery enough. From the day starting, they have done everything they can with helping starting to making us feel welcome each day when arriving, helping my son with extra attention to his speach and having all the care with helping my youngest son settle in, due to his first
nursery and first few weeks of fears of a new place, but both sons love coming learning ,playing with friends and I couldn't wish for nicer staff to take over my role when I have to work. It helps to know I'll go back to pick up two happy little children.

Joanna Parker

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, my name is Joanna Parker and I joined Children 1st in 2018. I completed my NNEB and have worked in various roles within nurseries, working my way up from Nursery Nurse to Nursery Manager.


I’m particularly proud of achieving my Foundation Degree in Early Years through the Open University while working, which gave me a Level 5 qualification.


I really enjoy working with families — from welcoming them on their very first visit to seeing them begin their nursery journey with us. I love organising family events and creating opportunities for them to be part of nursery life.


I feel very passionate about making sure every family feels included in our setting and knows they can turn to us for support whenever they need it. I’m also proud to work alongside an amazing team who go above and beyond every day to provide high-quality learning and care for every child. Supporting my team and helping each member reach their full potential is something I value highly in my role.
